Sign me the f up! It feels like the big thing Digimon anime has been missing is a roadmap, and a completed manga to adapt gives it that direction that is lacking!
They had a completed Manga for Sailor Moon Crystal/Eternal. And that still ended up a trainwreck... 🤷♂️ Toei has gotten very lazy and slapdash with their adaptations over the years.
It's one of at least 3 manga worth adapting adapting into anime 1. Chronicle and it's sequel Chronicle X- these manga are just STRAIGHT UP SEQUELS to X-Evolution 2. Digimon Next
Well it's the creators own choice whom to put in spotlight and whom not to Besides Tai deserves the spotlight he gets, and others got enough screen time so 🤷

We definitely need more V tamer love. And really more digimon content that people can get into. For most people the anime is the best way to get into the series.
I full heartedly support this. As someone who’s never read the manga it would be so cool to see where it all started in anime form. My only concern would be people being mad about Taichi showing up again 😂
Oh I'd absolutely love a V-Tamer anime or at least an offical english print of the manga! Zeromaru is one of my favorite digimon to show up in media and V-Tamer itself really shows off something we don't see often in the anime, games, or anything else. The fact that digitmon have names, thier own seperate lives, and inferstructure! Also I'm biased cause I love the Digivice 01, and I would be over the moon if I got a BE shell for it lol. So yes, please give us more V-Tamer!
Maybe instead of a full anime, we could get 2 ovas/movies that adapt its story, the first movie could end in AeroV-dramon and the birth of arcadiamon, and the second movie ends at the final of story, considering that aero happens near the half of the story I think it could work
The V-Tamer crossover one-shots would be so perfect for like OVAs or could be rewritten to work as one big movie too. VT01 Tai, 2020 Tai, Davis, Takuya, and Ryo? Wild line-up. For Toei, that’s like a big Adventure (V-Tamer) anime and a big Adventure (V-Tamer) crossover movie. Feels like that’s just easy money from a branding perspective.
I read V Tamer a week ago, and I LOVED IT! It's one of the best mangas I read, and I really hope it'll get more things in the future! (Also UlforceVeedramon is my favourite Digimon, sooo)
Actually cool thing we know V tamer Zero was an Agumon, in chapter three Taichi and zero see training Agumon and tai says “Hey Zero, I remember when you were like them!” To which zero is embarrassed, it’s a cute detail considering how linked Taichi and Agumon are
I almost feel like Toei wouldn't do it unless they could make a new gogglehead for it. I just have this gut feeling that the head hanchos will sit in the pitch meeting like "We could do this but Taichi and Agumon are too iconic, do not separate them" and hand Zeromaru over to a new anime-exclusive protagonist
I dunno I mean they re-used Tai in 2020 and gave Agumon new evos right? I think if they did the thing I said where we see Zeromaru as an Agumon it's fairly appealing to the bigwigs.
@@Karn_EX Could possibly work that way if they kept Zeromaru as an Agumon most of the time, rather than Veedramon. But 2020 gave only him a mode change and a sparsely used alternate mega, not an entirely different line. Plus they had the rest of the Adventure cast to carry the nostalgia recognition. Adventure is their Golden Goose and I haven't seen anything recently that makes me confident that they'd be willing to stray too far from it short of a whole new series with a fresh cast No matter how much we hope
I absolutely agree with you 100%!!! V-Tamer if one of my fondest memories of Digimon fromyears ago, and to this day I'm still sad some of the Digimon in it have yet to be canonized in the sourcebook. Not to mention the Digivice 01 is still my favorite design to this day. Hopefully they do decide to adapt it, because I would love to see all those great moments in animation!!!
I am definitely on board with this. I have only read the synopsis of V-Tamer long ago and seen the artwork of the cool Digimon presented in the series and got the gist of what happens, but I would like to experience it in its entirety to fully appreciate this iteration.
v tamer is sooo nostalgic. ive read it long time ago and probably the sole reason for every time there is v mon in a digimon game i always choose Vdramon digivolution line and also mainstay in my party.

This would be great, SPECIALLY if it somehow ushers into more new Digimon to complete variant's evolutions' lines like the new Digimon added as the Rookie and Perfect forms of Piddomon that connect it with Dominimon.
Something else that would be interesting about the timing of it all is that V-Tamers is going to be released in Spain (and hopefully if it does well maybe they’ll release it in other countries as well). And one of the new key words in BT 16 was Partition. Of course none of this actually means anything but it would make so much sense to do something v-tamer related (and tie it into the TCG with idk maybe strategies around partition or something) especially taking into account everything you said as well.
HECK YEAH, V-Tamer would sell! Ever since I read it, I kept thinking "why isn't it an anime yet?" I would love to see V-Tamer get an adaptation in the vein of the recent Dragon Quest Adventure of Dai remake, and if that leads to the other Digimon manga getting anime adaptations, that would be awesome! As a fan of Digimon NEXT, I'd love to see VictoryGreymon in action on the big/small screen, but it'd be great if we can get the Digimon origin story that is V-Tamer, with Taichi and Zeromaru, out there into the wider world.

Before Karn, I never heard of the VTamer manga but now, yeah, an anime would be so cool and I agree that right now sounds like a great timing to do something like this for a new Digimon anime 😄 Very cool video Karn!
V-Tamer is the definiton of Shonen Power of Friendship in all the best possible ways! I love this manga with a passion and I'd love to see Zero animated.
ABSOLUTELY would LOVE a V-Tamer manga!! With 2023 being both the 25th anniversary of its beginning and the 20th anniversary of its ending, there's literally no reason NOT to revive V-Tamer properly. Like, a lot of us are even asking publishers to grab V-Tamer and officially distribute it in our countries so we can legally buy it!!! I know I literally would. And adapting it into anime would be perfect for Toei's romantic relationship with Adventure - it's like more Adventure, but at the same time it's not! V-Tamer is just so full of energy and charisma and so earnest and the story is literally there! No need to reinvent the wheel. Yeah perhaps some pacing tweaks could be nice, and maybe even giving the side characters more to do buuut it's not super necessary since Taichi+Zeromaru were well established as the main protagonists instead of an ensemble cast. We are also *craving* a story with a progressive pacing like this one, and even the climax is extremely good! People literally want this. Why not do it?
I’ve been watching your videos on and off for a while but I am now subscribed. Apologies for not doing it sooner because it’s always good to see digimon fans on UA-cam. Your idea for a Tamers reboot is sound btw. But what I really want to talk about is that there should definitely be a V-Tamer anime which can draw upon the 25 years of the franchise’s history. For instance the Omegamon in the original manga could instead be replaced by a new version of omnimon and in particular a design from your recent video which I also think should exist; Omnimon Alter - J. The Alias 3 guy who was partners with omnimon and the wargreymon and metalgarurumon that form could be replaced with Victorygreymon and Zeedgarurumon to Jogress evolve into this new omnimon variant. One more element to make the anime slightly different from the anime is the inclusion of one of my favourite digimon as a villain; Boltboutamon, my reasoning for this is that Sigma of the Alias 3 is partnered with Piemon and Myotismon is a villain in the manga too. What if a situation occurred where Boltboutamon came into existence in a similar manner to digimon survive because of Sigma’s actions or something else entirely happens that creates an obstacle for Taichi to overcome or whether Boltboutamon becomes either a threat to Daemon or a pawn in his game. Please share your thoughts as I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while especially after watching this video Keep up the great work Karn
I'm glad I wasn't an A hole for half the time 😂 I absolutely need this as an anime! At least release a box set for the manga. They could a audio book with the manga and I would take that!
This sounds fun. Definitely wanna check out the manga. Personally, I would love to see a season or a movie or OVA (whatever) of Ryo's story before Tamers. A lot of people outside Japan were in the dark regarding his story when Tamers first aired, so it'd be nice if we could get a mini series taking the Wonderswan games as inspiration to make an anime equivalent story.
If they had done v-tamer instead of 2020, even if it wasn't all that great, would have been a fresh concept while still containing the nostalgic elements
I need to catch up on V-Tamer, the last time I read it was on Megchan's back when Zeromaru was still a Veedramon. Or at least, that's all that was translated up on the site at the time. I've actually named my partner in Digimon World 1 Zero after Zeromaru since my first time playing way back when since he was the only Digimon I knew of with a nickname(plus I wanted 100% win ratio). So yeah, I'd totally be down for a V-Tamer anime.
It's always fun to see what they can do with adapting older media with a few modern twists, at least until the point someone does something to destroy the goodwill of the fans and community. On to other things, in some of the comments of previous videos, I've been talking about Alternate/Backup Devas. Because, guess what? The zodiac wheel's animals actually are different from culture to culture; some animals are replaced by entirely different ones, I've given a few examples in the aforementioned previous comments entries, so I don't need to repeat that for the time being. And I really do think Karn could have fun with the research in trying to figure out how to generate these alternate Devas and even coming up with lore for them.
Having a V-tamer anime would be awesome and yeah I agree the market potential is there. But then so is the potential for Codename Sailor V from Sailor Moon's universe. That has been out for ages and yet Toei and Bandai haven't tapped into that yet despite also revive Sailor Moon recently, so who knows? Maybe we will finally get that V Tamer series and anime loosely based on some of the other manga that inspired Ghost Game and Savers and finally having that Codename Sailor V OVA. I guess it's up to fan demand sent to both Toei and Bandai to make all of this happen. But yeah, here is hoping that V Tamer being different enough from Adventure will finally be given the anime adaptation it deserves and Bandai will be right behind it selling us more merch.....And crack. :D
Absolutely! I would love this! Shoot, I would settle for just getting official releases of the Digimon V Tamer manga. I am somebody who does not like reading comics or manga digitally. I like my paper backs. But making an anime would be absolutely dope! And you’re right, it does make financial sense for Bandai and Toei to do this.

If we get an anime/movie for the 25th anniversary I’m expecting it to be adventure or 2020 related but if that is the rout they decide to go down I’d be much more down for something akin to V-tamers or maybe something closer to Survive that is different while taking clear inspiration from adventure. We shall see though won’t be holding my breath lol.

I would like to see a season that focuses on tyrannomon, meramon, kabuterrimon , andromon, leomon, & angemon as the main character's partners with their variant digivolutions such as marsmon, gaiomon, holy angemon priest mode, ancient beetlemon, boltmon, craniamon etc ...
V-Tamer anime? Hell, yeah. By the way, Xros wars manga is much, much, much better than Xros wars anime. If they make Xros wars anime based on Xros wars manga, that would be amazing. Digimon Next also needs anime adaptation, because Barbamon seriously needs to appear in digimon anime.
I would love to see a V-Tamer adaptation in animation, but I think that the nostalgia for Digimon adventure might work against this series if they kept the Tai character design. I fill like people would start asking where the other digi-destined are, if not being frustrated from the most recent reboots, and tragically looking at this as another reboot instead of its own series as it deserves. So I think they should keep the story and characters of V-Tamers, but just make Tai’s character look different enough to be recognized as his own goggle head (they’d also probably need to change his name, like Ash compared to Red of Pokémon). I do really love this idea though, and personally I would love to see them release 2 different Digimon series at the same time. Give us V-Tamers, but also a series that introduces a completely new cast of characters with Digimon partners we’ve either never seen yet, or ones that were never used and should have been. Especially if they make a simul-casting deal with Netflix & Crunchyrole the way DanDaDan has.
I would love to have a Digimon anime where the main character has a Dorumon. They don't even have to go down the Alphamon route I just wanna see my favorite Digimon in a anime.
I love v-tamer having finally read it last year, but I honestly feel that they should have either done it's anime in place of adventure 2020 or it should have been the original anime in the 90s, that being said I'd say absolutely give an anime protagonist a veemon partner that becomes the veedramon line just make it completely new characters
I have mixed feelings on this. I really don't want another Adventure themed season. I get it's a different Taichi but it's still Taichi and it's still a lot of adventures ideas and Digimon lines. It just feels like with PR that's all the company knows how to produce. On the other hand I would like to see maybe an OVA of this idea or a movie since it's based on a manga. Just to see all the cool ideas they could do with this. Like a version of Tri that does not suck ya know! Also I will admit the ideas for VB and especially cards in this format could be so cool!

You're actually wrong with one statement. V tamer was sold here in Germany, at least the first two volumes if I remember that correctly. I even owned them in the past but I might have sold them, or they are somewhere I don't remember.

I know we just got an "anniversary" but V-Tamer Anime would be the best type of fanservice like Anniversary anime since V-Tamer DID HAVE one-shot chapters within the story that Taichi of that world met Davis and Takuya (even a one-shot where he meets a younger version of Adventure Taichi). They could do more with that. Like have him and Zeromaru meet Takato and Guilmon and Marcus and his Agumon. Heck, even Hiro can have a camero with Gammamon. Those "crossovers" could be at least 2 episode length each, enough to get fans invested to see those interactions. Why no Taiki and Shoutmon? BECAUSE IF- WHEN V-Tamer Anime succeeded, we could get Xros Wars "FMA Brotherhood" remake of their manga but in anime adaption. Cardfight Vanguard did that so why not Digimon too? Especially since Xros Wars Manga is such a good retelling and probably better than the Anime- No, it is better. I would LOVE to see V-Tamer become an Anime and it would bring back fans with how Ghost Game left us confused and bring back the adventure of Digimon with this anime adaption. Honestly, we kinda need that and it would be the best time to do it too!
Kinda sad that Veedramon and AeroVeedramon still haven't made an anime appearence. It should have been Veemon's evolution in 02 instead of exvemmon, but maybe they thought that it would look too much like Greymon.

The Alias 3 guy who was partners with omnimon and the wargreymon and metalgarurumon that form could be replaced with Victorygreymon and Zeedgarurumon to Jogress evolve into this new omnimon variant. One more element to make the anime slightly different from the anime is the inclusion of one of my favourite digimon as a villain; Boltboutamon, my reasoning for this is that Sigma of the Alias 3 is partnered with Piemon and Myotismon is a villain in the manga too. What if a situation occurred where Boltboutamon came into existence in a similar manner to digimon survive because of Sigma’s actions or something else entirely happens that creates an obstacle for Taichi to overcome or whether Boltboutamon becomes either a threat to Daemon or a pawn in his game.

This sounds fun. Definitely wanna check out the manga. Personally, I would love to see a season or a movie or OVA (whatever) of Ryo's story before Tamers.
A lot of people outside Japan were in the dark regarding his story when Tamers first aired, so it'd be nice if we could get a mini series taking the Wonderswan games as inspiration to make an anime equivalent story.
If they had done v-tamer instead of 2020, even if it wasn't all that great, would have been a fresh concept while still containing the nostalgic elements

I need to catch up on V-Tamer, the last time I read it was on Megchan's back when Zeromaru was still a Veedramon. Or at least, that's all that was translated up on the site at the time.
I've actually named my partner in Digimon World 1 Zero after Zeromaru since my first time playing way back when since he was the only Digimon I knew of with a nickname(plus I wanted 100% win ratio).
So yeah, I'd totally be down for a V-Tamer anime.

It's always fun to see what they can do with adapting older media with a few modern twists, at least until the point someone does something to destroy the goodwill of the fans and community.
On to other things, in some of the comments of previous videos, I've been talking about Alternate/Backup Devas. Because, guess what? The zodiac wheel's animals actually are different from culture to culture; some animals are replaced by entirely different ones, I've given a few examples in the aforementioned previous comments entries, so I don't need to repeat that for the time being. And I really do think Karn could have fun with the research in trying to figure out how to generate these alternate Devas and even coming up with lore for them.
Having a V-tamer anime would be awesome and yeah I agree the market potential is there. But then so is the potential for Codename Sailor V from Sailor Moon's universe. That has been out for ages and yet Toei and Bandai haven't tapped into that yet despite also revive Sailor Moon recently, so who knows? Maybe we will finally get that V Tamer series and anime loosely based on some of the other manga that inspired Ghost Game and Savers and finally having that Codename Sailor V OVA. I guess it's up to fan demand sent to both Toei and Bandai to make all of this happen. But yeah, here is hoping that V Tamer being different enough from Adventure will finally be given the anime adaptation it deserves and Bandai will be right behind it selling us more merch.....And crack. :D
Absolutely! I would love this! Shoot, I would settle for just getting official releases of the Digimon V Tamer manga. I am somebody who does not like reading comics or manga digitally. I like my paper backs. But making an anime would be absolutely dope! And you’re right, it does make financial sense for Bandai and Toei to do this.

It's weird that I discovered in a Digimon video that Dragon Ball wasn't airen in order in every country.
If we get an anime/movie for the 25th anniversary I’m expecting it to be adventure or 2020 related but if that is the rout they decide to go down I’d be much more down for something akin to V-tamers or maybe something closer to Survive that is different while taking clear inspiration from adventure. We shall see though won’t be holding my breath lol.

I would love to see a V-Tamer adaptation in animation, but I think that the nostalgia for Digimon adventure might work against this series if they kept the Tai character design. I fill like people would start asking where the other digi-destined are, if not being frustrated from the most recent reboots, and tragically looking at this as another reboot instead of its own series as it deserves. So I think they should keep the story and characters of V-Tamers, but just make Tai’s character look different enough to be recognized as his own goggle head (they’d also probably need to change his name, like Ash compared to Red of Pokémon). I do really love this idea though, and personally I would love to see them release 2 different Digimon series at the same time. Give us V-Tamers, but also a series that introduces a completely new cast of characters with Digimon partners we’ve either never seen yet, or ones that were never used and should have been. Especially if they make a simul-casting deal with Netflix & Crunchyrole the way DanDaDan has.
I would love to have a Digimon anime where the main character has a Dorumon. They don't even have to go down the Alphamon route I just wanna see my favorite Digimon in a anime.

V-Tamer did get an official spanish translation back in 2001, but got cancelled after 7 Volumes

I love v-tamer having finally read it last year, but I honestly feel that they should have either done it's anime in place of adventure 2020 or it should have been the original anime in the 90s, that being said I'd say absolutely give an anime protagonist a veemon partner that becomes the veedramon line just make it completely new characters
I have mixed feelings on this. I really don't want another Adventure themed season. I get it's a different Taichi but it's still Taichi and it's still a lot of adventures ideas and Digimon lines. It just feels like with PR that's all the company knows how to produce. On the other hand I would like to see maybe an OVA of this idea or a movie since it's based on a manga. Just to see all the cool ideas they could do with this. Like a version of Tri that does not suck ya know! Also I will admit the ideas for VB and especially cards in this format could be so cool!

You're actually wrong with one statement. V tamer was sold here in Germany, at least the first two volumes if I remember that correctly. I even owned them in the past but I might have sold them, or they are somewhere I don't remember.

I know we just got an "anniversary" but V-Tamer Anime would be the best type of fanservice like Anniversary anime since V-Tamer DID HAVE one-shot chapters within the story that Taichi of that world met Davis and Takuya (even a one-shot where he meets a younger version of Adventure Taichi). They could do more with that. Like have him and Zeromaru meet Takato and Guilmon and Marcus and his Agumon. Heck, even Hiro can have a camero with Gammamon. Those "crossovers" could be at least 2 episode length each, enough to get fans invested to see those interactions.
Why no Taiki and Shoutmon? BECAUSE IF- WHEN V-Tamer Anime succeeded, we could get Xros Wars "FMA Brotherhood" remake of their manga but in anime adaption. Cardfight Vanguard did that so why not Digimon too? Especially since Xros Wars Manga is such a good retelling and probably better than the Anime- No, it is better.
I would LOVE to see V-Tamer become an Anime and it would bring back fans with how Ghost Game left us confused and bring back the adventure of Digimon with this anime adaption. Honestly, we kinda need that and it would be the best time to do it too!

Kinda sad that Veedramon and AeroVeedramon still haven't made an anime appearence. It should have been Veemon's evolution in 02 instead of exvemmon, but maybe they thought that it would look too much like Greymon.
