- If you want to improve your psychological knowledge in a way that is more fun than just studying and trying to memorise, I recommend reading a popular science book. You will be surprised how often the ideas in these books pop up in your actual course! And you’re far more likely to actually understand these ideas having read about their wider context.
Check out my website psychboost.com/psychology-boo... for my review of each of these books including why they will help with your A level!

I really appreciate how you explained it clearly in such depth because we skimmed over this topic in school and my textbook doesn't really explain it thoroughly.
thanks mate i've got my second psychology a level paper next week and it's biopysch, and i never got my head around synaptic transmission when we learnt about it in year 12 but now i have finally! thanks for teaching me better than my actual teacher did, she made it so hard to understand but you explained it well!

do i have to sign up to acess the worksheets?
I can't find the work sheet it says I have to pay
some of the things are not mentioned in the textbook, but are mentioned in this vid, do I need to know them in such detail?
hey Jan, take a look at 2017's paper 2 Q4 filestore.aqa.org.uk/sample-papers-and-mark-schemes/2017/june/AQA-71822-W-MS-JUN17.PDF it includes in the mark scheme some words that I dont think are covered in some textbooks (depolarisation / hyperpolarisation). But really its okay just to know the basics of the process.
I've gone into slightly more depth than I usally would in this video but only so far as I think it helps to understand the process.
always lookin dapper mate
May as well make the effort for the internet people!
@@PsychBoost Worth the effort! Also, got the app, may have typos but it's pretty good :D
@@orangepotato2112 cheers glad you like it! Going to review the cards over the summer. You can send feedback on the app for cards that need to be changed. I tend to get to them pretty quickly!
@@PsychBoost Ah, then I'll try my best to send helpful feedback as soon as possible! (I'll include number and topic probs)
So, now you know how fantastic your brain is, what you gonna use if for?

ooof I hate bio but these videos help :)
Synaptic transmission really confused me, I don’t really get it. I feel stupid
You shouldnt feel stupid, its literally one of the most difficult parts of the A-level. If you know
1) neurons are cells that pass messages between eachother.
2) Between two neurons there is a gap and its called a synapse
3) Messages travel within neurones as an electrical signal, but when it gets to the gap it cant cross electrically.
4) so the electrical messages are turned into a chemical message, these chemicals are called neurotransmitters.
5) the neurotransmetters cross the synapse and are detected by receptors on the other side. This passes the message on.
then your 80% of the way there really.
@@PsychBoost you don’t know how much you’ve helped me with this message thanks man
video starts at 2.17 😭😭(not tryna be rude)

I’m cooked
Just lock in bro
me too
@staisehill9257 Bro trust me you can make significant process with his videos even with the less than 24-hour time frame. Look over past papers and just try and think on how to answer them and 4 Eval points for 16 markers and if you don't know watch his corresponding videos
