That looks sensational! Her grandfathers innovation and hard work, still passionately run and operated by this incredible young businesswoman and chef, is beautifully inspiring. Chicago is very blessed to have her and this delicious business!
I love the ladies good positivity and great attitude! She was such a great person to choose to be the spokesperson and that chicken made me hungry 😋 but that sauce made me curious and now I want some lol 😂 shouts out to shy town cause I’m in South Carolina rn but we got some good chicken in the south too! Can’t wait 😊 to visit uncle Remus one day if I come that way!! Your in my bucket list! Fa sho
I love chicago!!! So many cool spots to eat, I’m sad I haven’t gotten to eat at many of these. I love how it doesn’t matter where you go you or the color or your skin, Hispanic, italian, Black, polish, white, Chinese. Everyone is Chicago has one thing in common. We love good food and love traditional restaurants and eateries that stay locked in time not changing like the rest. But just as solid as day one
It is interesting to see that Americans appreciate local chicken restaurant other than just KFC. I like this program although I am Indonesian myself. Your chicken quality is so much better.
I visited from NYC and tried it! The chicken with the sauce and the friesss and rolls were sooooooo gooooood!! The pieces are pretty big too! Btw the neighborhood is pretty hood haha not to worry because there was a huge Chicago PD control center van parked next to it.
For me it's all about the sauce as well... I mean, the chicken has to be up to a certain standard, but once it's there it doesn't matter how much better it gets. The sauce they put on it makes all the difference :)
Michelle Johnson no its called mild sauce. , if you look up how to make it the online recipes say ketchup and BBQ sauce. but it really don't taste like either one I think. its unique. you can make your own at home if you google Chicago style mild sauce. it takes like 10 seconds but not all sauce is created equal !!
Im from Eatonton GA so i know all about Uncle Remus we all grew up reading the books and going to the Uncle Remus museum which was right beside my middle school
Exactly why food joints like this are not only revered locally, but also survive for so long. Good food, in no way pretentious (everyone is treated well and equally coming through that door) and you never finish that meal disappointed (unlike the feeling that KFC gives me sometimes). There is a good reason why people want to go on a food tour of these places - because you just can't replicate what they do, and its regional, so you really do have to get on a plane, in a car, and travel around to find places like this that will leave you satisfied every time. From the service to the food, hits the brief every time.
That sauce is nothing but 'DC Mumbo' sauce... I can attest though, the chicken and fish at this place is delicious!! Service is great and people are really nice! Being from DC I tried everything and was very satisfied!!
Problem is southern fried chicken has to be cooked fresh and not left there to sell. It’s all about selling it fresh but most vendors don’t think like this.
Those joints are usually busy AF. They don't wanna be bothered with folks asking them what kind of pop you got? Some places sell the off-off brand pops behind the counter.

looks so delicious man wow
They frying that chicken and some old motor oil.
As a westside native I haven’t had it. I moved so far out of Chicago but I’m visiting soon can’t wait!!!
In the south, we don’t put sauce over our fried chicken like that. The only sauce we do that with is Texas Pete hot sauce
which is why all of the restaurants from out of state had to move there
bless the chicken for letting us eat it
Hardly doubt it had a saying in it😂
I heard this place is the 💣, i got to go out west real soon.
Homie in the kitchen like look at this guy😂
Yum I love fried chicken! Soon I'll be in Chicago to give you guys a try!💖🔥

"DC Mumbo" sauce was created in Chicago that's why.... DC adopted it afterwards.
That sauce is similar to Mumbo Sauce which is famous from D.C.
I was gonna say hot sweet sour sauce and ketchup
I'll take a two piece with all the fries you can give me HAHAHAH
I can smell the seasoning from here, if it wasn't midnight i would go get some right now.

Looks like a Chicago version of DC's mumbo sauce
It's very similar to mumbo sauce.

What's with the coke vending machines? I've seen them on a few joints featured here? Is it a thing up there in Chicago?
Yep!!
Those joints are usually busy AF. They don't wanna be bothered with folks asking them what kind of pop you got? Some places sell the off-off brand pops behind the counter.
