The directing in this movie is superb. Beginning with a flyover above a graveyard, where Sebastian ultimately ends up, driving by in his car, which Annette drives away in at the end.
Thank you man. It’s incredible that this was a big-screen romantic script-based movie, nowadays we get Marvel franchises on the big screen and dramas on Netflix.
This is so perfect, it begins with Sebastian driving his car while Every You, Every Me is playing and it ends with Annette driving Sebastian's car while Bitter Sweet Symphony plays. Two iconic songs from the late 90s
I want to thank whoever decided to put this song in the movie. Without them i wouldnt have discovered the beatiful haunting music by placebo. I was flipping the channels on tv and this scene just so happened to be on and i was like i have to know who made that song! This was in 2009. Love Placebo their music helped me thru alot. 💙
Hated by critics because they didn't want to understand the bitter sweet beauty of a well crafted movie which tells you more about youth, dreams, first real love and death than they could comprehend. The movie packs more 90s culture than any history class is ever going to teach you.
Makes me want to visit and meander around Waikumete Cemetery back home in Auckland, New Zealand, whilst listening to this, dual legend- and nostalgia-tripping 😂
Salut, Lìr. It was a moment. A good one, in the beginning. When an Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer meant something... I was impressed. If that matters. But then... I WAS raised by wolves, so what did i ever know? (That you were worth saving. If you could've given me an OUNCE of vulnerability- but that's not what narcissists do. They ignore the obvious, get raging, blind mad, and bounce a door off of your face... Yeah, the dentist didn't believe a word i said. She could see it in my eyes...) But- i still- ah, don't make me say it, Lìr. Even these words are dangerous. Remember that "potential" you said i had? Well, you have some yourself. But you have to let someone in. If it couldn't be me, please? Just let someone touch that pain? I wasn't the one. And things were bad, because you... because I? I still don't know. Please let someone in, Lìr? You've a lot to offer, if you could come to terms with the things that haunt you... I should say the same to myself. Except... I am the unicorn, desperate to be alone and unencumbered, safe in her lilac wood... The peonies won't grow here, you will probably be glad to know. I wish you the best... (Better than Ezra, Tonic, @ Carowinds. If your current girl can handle some REAL music...) Petty? Nah. Just nostalgic...
hello plachibo, every you released in 1999 - saw it myself first and saw it again with friend. he was so into the reeses pieces gal. thought it was nice to kiss the bad boys goodbye like veronica in ryder. elle for goodbye
I really kind of hate how they portrayed the psychiatrist here. No trained psychiatrist/therapist/counsellor is that gullible, and they as a profession don't deserve that disrespect.
She does not care for the people she treats... it is obvious and Sebastian, a master profiler himself, can see this. Which is why he does what he does to... in a manner of speaking... exert power over her daughter (which she treats like a personal vanity project).
@@Ozzie_Mandias like I said, they don't deserve it. Though I guess it says a lot about the scriptwriters if they portray psychiatrists like her. Still horrible about the girl though, guess her mother treating her like a vanity project left her vulnerable for what Sebastian did to her. Pity we never find out what happened to her in the end. I wanted to see Sebastian hear about what happened to her and for it to really hit him that that horrible way Kathryn made him feel is how he made who knows how many others feel.
The directing in this movie is superb. Beginning with a flyover above a graveyard, where Sebastian ultimately ends up, driving by in his car, which Annette drives away in at the end.
TangibleNought Thank You!! I never realized the graveyard opening and it correlating to his death at the ending. XX

Holy shit! I've watched the movie a couple of times already and never noticed that.
this intro is so late 90's...i love it

@@robroy6374 you are boring and below average.
Your mother
Not often has the opening music paired so well with the tone of the movie- captures the nihilistic feel so well.
Why you don't have more likes? Love you comment, you are right.
And Placebo is a great band too.
One of the best beginnings ever!!!
I miss the 90's so bad, please let me go back

TheRapidVengeance I looked up PLACEBO - Every You Every Me
