To everyone concerned with the volume/quality of my mic- please check out my other videos! I have since gotten a new mic and better headphones, so that is no longer an issue. Additionally, I recently made a video about one of my favorite MOBAs, Battlerite, which you can check out here: ua-cam.com/video/fGglV9NcxxE/v-deo.html
Nathan Walker great video man but I needs to be updated. Smites map is bigger now so your argument about the map being small is invalid. But the toxicity is still rampant.
After playing Smite for about 2 1/2 years: Smite in a nutshell: You rock! You rock! You rock! Cancel that! Help! Help! Help! Help! Thanks Thanks You rock Woohoo! Thanks!
Argh the feels. I remember so many great mods that came on Wc3. Tower defense run kitty run anime wars nvb angel arena. If only blizzard would fucking stop milking the tits from ppls wallets of Wow and listen to the fans dying for an rts with full moding tools. Then I can unis tall all these fucking mobas and enjoy wc mods again with unlimited capabilities.
Probably in VR when there's tech to connect your brain to virtual reality and you literally think that you are the character , lifelike simulation. I hope i live so long, that i will see next generation games wich , maybe in 2070~ ? :D
Revisit SMITE. Map has been expanded, also the toxicity thing is not much of a problem for the rest of us non-Loki players. I’m sorry but you complained about toxicity while playing Loki. He is easily the most hated God in Smite. Nobody likes Loki players, not even Loki players themselves.
@@Megumin_2_Kawaii OH please, I can Carry with my *NEITH* shes the BEST in MID and DOU and also Arena .... *ZEUS stares at me* HEM thats right, ZEUS is the BEST and the GREATEST in MID and DOU, also Arena and Joust, Haha .... ha ..... I'm dead am i? *Zeus Nods*
Yea, Fortnite also sucks, its just an overhyped flavor of the month garbage, Overwatch sucks too, it died out. RTS genre in general is dead too, who the fuck plays rts who arent robotic koreans these days? CS:GO is nothing but a russian meme anymore, its a joke. Oh and XBox is way worse than Playstation, I mean it would be if PS itself werent a pile of garbage aswell. Fighting games? Who the fuck can take mashing buttons seriously? Pacman is old as fuck, its ridicoulus. Robin Hood: Legend of Shervood is a fucking discount game, my brother got it as a gift with a gaming magazine. Indie games are buggy as fuck and overated just becouse its wow so unique and not made by the big companies. Speaking of big companies, EA is a fucking lootbox simulator while Blizzard games are balanced by a group of monkeys. Point and click adventure games are fucking pointless, I would rather play Tetris, if it werent so fucking boring. VR games are the future? They make me fucking vomit. Take my edge and leave
As a League player, I often wanted to switch to the appearently superior Dota 2. But as you mentioned: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get into the game unless your willing to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours into it, which I am not willing to do. It's really a shame that you basically need a bachelors degree on the game to play it, but am I sure for everyone who understands the game it is also a blessing.
Personally as someone who has only played Smite, I absolutely love it. However, I can see why if someone coming from other games wouldnt like it. Its just different. But amazing. Mute the toxic players and enjoy the game. And also, on console, toxic players are cut by about 75%
Just switched from console to pc, and u r damn right Pc players are sooo toxic, egocentric and are kinda cringe Anyways, im taking ur tip to the practice
TI8 is the best TI.. IMO, if at least your team do proper communication (not abusing) and dont tilt, you are good.. Thats why the best way to play dota is by party of 5.. But as far lately, i rarely find toxic player and my random teamate atleast try to win (sea server btw)
Football is so boring, so as league(20 mins no kill in grand finals rofl) to watch yet many people watch it so its technically league=football. Dota 2 is fun to watch, more actions(can have 30 combine team kills in 20 min mark) than league can achieve, thats why ti is better than the worlds, in the gameplay i think lol is more fun because of fast pace game and easy to get into the game yet dota 2 is more competitive because of more balanced game and complex gameplay than the other mobas
I like Smite the most because everything is a Skill shot, I like the fact that if I'm dodging around I'm actually dodging thing and if I'm landing this it's because I was accurate enough to land it.
Yep, i just love being able to juke a fed adc's basic attacks while at 20% health and escape in the jungle. In any point and click moba's in that same situation you are straight up dead, cuz homing basic attacks
Nate Higgers I don’t see how you can say that it doesn’t add any skill while at the same time comparing it to a genre that takes the most skill (fighting games)
Nate Higgers you just Side step the point while simultaneously using bad examples (the point) is that skill shots are better because holding down mouse 1 and hitting me for free is Lame compared to actually aiming at you and hitting you with basics and abilities
I've also been playing different MOBAs for years, and I think HotS is severely underrated. Most heroes do cost a lot and that's a topic the community is talking about right now, but other than that, with *no lasthitting* and no gold/item shop, it's definitely the easiest MOBA to get into as a new player, and it isn't lacking in depth. You mentioned Cho'gall as 2 people in 1 body, and Ragnaros who can transform into a building and rain death from above, there's also Abathur who aids his allies from wherever he is globally, never directly fighting with his body, and can control cloned allies, The Lost Vikings where you're 3 seperate bodies trying to get as much team XP and map pressure as one person can manage, the healer Auriel whose healing resource is directly tied to her and a bound ally dealing damage to enemy heroes, etc etc.. Then there are healing fountains with a cooldown near buildings and regen globes from minions to keep your sustain up, healers in every game, no items that require a shop, and mounts for out of combat movement, to make sure you hardly ever go back to base or stop fighting. It's less farming and walking, more constant combat, and I love that.
You forgot to mention its maps though. HotS may have it easier in learning how to play Who but it definitely is a lot harder to learn how the play the Maps because there's just a lot of them and you have to learn all of them at the same time. This also makes Hots Macro hard to master with the amount of Maps when you multiply it by the number of heroes you play. However, the positive side for new players is, the Maps are individually pretty simple. You just have to understand it, and once you do, the design of HotS that aims to spoonfeed its players on what to do and what is going on makes it easy to get decent at. Though mastering them takes time because there's a lot of them. Hots Maps = Many but straightforward spoon fed objectives = Hard to Learn them all, Easy to learn individually and Hard to master all, easy to master individually (if you focus on one at a time) Compared to dota = 1 map but really huge and you have to figure out the objectives on your own = Easy to Learn, Hard to Master I can't speak about the Smite and LoL as I haven't played them but these 2 have their own pros and cons depending on the audience. HotS is friendlier to new and casual players while Dota is better at keeping dedicated players on their toes. Whichever you are, it's up to you to decide. But as for me, there are times where I'm the casual player wanting to chill and other times where I just like to get my brain working and strategizing on how to play the map. Though I do wish Dota structures fall a lot quicker.. I prefer HotS' less than 20 minute matches... Dota losses tend to be really slow even when the game is basically sealed.
I do not understand the complaints that the heroes are expensive (new heroes are expensive only 1 month), when they are literally giving you gold all the time for doing nothing or making the daily missions (in 1 month you can easly buy 3 heroes), and you must count the events where they have given more than 1 hero for free.
LoL - carring game before get cancer from community Dota 2 - eating trees to gain hp HotS - comunism, no gold, everybody have the same lvl i team Smite - WHERE ARE SLAVIC GODS?
My fav thing in smite is still buying skins where the "quiet" command is funny. Like for the Jing Wei Mini Metal skin her Quiet command says "Just shut up already"
My favorite one is HotS. I love the characters and all the lore behind it (I actually got invested in the Blizzard universes because of HotS), you have over 10 maps with different objectives and different strategies required, it's easy to get into, but it still offers room for mastering, the ballancing is mostly good, you can get the skins you like without real money (with some exceptions), you never get stomped by one fed enemy or get really dragged behind by a feeder thanks to the shared exp system and I do love that you can choose your ultimate ability. It looks great, by the usual standard of Blizzard, and it doesn't have an all chat, which lowers the toxicity (you will still get some toxic teammates, but you get my point). However you are not wrong. The customization can feel a little lackluster, especially on some characters that have a build better than every other one, and sometimes you will have no talent that counters the enemies if you didn't drafted some specific heroes. 2.0 made it harder for people to get new heroes because a lot of gold can be spend on rerolls (even thought it's not mandatory, but what else are you gonna do when you see you got 4 voice lines?) and loot chests will drop heroes rarely. Sometimes you'll feel you can't carry no matter how hard you try, but after all it's a team game, so I don't mind that much. I think this game's strongest points are the variety of maps, the unique mechanics and heroes (you won't find heroes like Cho'Gall, Abathur, Murky etc. in other MOBAs) and how easy it is to get into it. It also feels less stressing than the others even in ranked games.
Agreed. It's also my favorite, though the criticisms towards it in this video are fair. Honestly though while I enjoy all 4 games, the uniqueness present in HOTS is a breath of fresh air to me. I've been seeing the same map and hero archtypes since Tides of Blood (The precursor to DOTA), and it feels great to see so much innovation in the genre. Also Blizzard universe helps.
I have to agree as well. Very fun game, always fresh and high intensity action. From early game to late game and with all the maps plus unique heroes this game is a blast!
Maybe you are right, maybe not. Both games are so much better played with friends so I don't often go solo queue. I think it's just the fact that it's harder to carry in Hots even as a team of 3 than to carry in LoL the bad randoms.
Yes, in LoL one feeder will ruin your game. In HotS it take at least TWO feeders to ruin your game. I have gotten games like this... but it's still an improvement.
same, i like it to. i love playing lucio and speeding everyone around the map, his healing isnt the best until lv16 and 20 but thats not why i picked em....SPEED!!! VROOM!!!
From what I’ve seen from this video it all comes down to personal preference. I prefer smite over any other because I much prefer 3rd person view over top down because it adds a higher skill gap
Fam the 3rd person doesn’t really add a higher skill gap, it’s just a different view point so you have to play it a different way. DOTA 2 has a MUCH higher skill gap for a giant amount of mechanics
Dota Player: Dota 2 is the best League of Legends Player: LoL is the best Heroes of the Storm Player: HotS is the best Smite Player: Smite is the best So which Moba really is the best? Unanimously: Heroes of Soulcraft
Kenny No i did stop playing, don’t get me wrong though. I want to play, one of my friends is telling me it’s more fun now, but I’m not playing for a while. Also riot employees somehow make it so addicting that even if you hate it, you play it.
I once played a normal game in low levels (around 20) and my entire team were some arabs roleplaying as terrorists. They did Techies combo or some shit like that and screamed Allah Akbar in voice chat. I have less than 100 hours on Dota. 10/10
me: "hi guys let's have fun!" rando1: yeah I'll go dazzle daedalus skadi / rando2: BLYAT CYKA PIZDET / rando3: kurwa / rando4: trag pula While enemies use freaking shackle - force staff - branch combos or get void+lich+aa or some shit. 5/7 worth it.
Also it's kinda ironic he says one guy will get fed and 1 shot you (100% talking about master yi) but shows a clip of dota of somebody getting one shot. Abilities in dota are more powerful and 1 shots are even more common, yes in league if someone is fed they will one shot you but ONLY if they're fed while Lina just hit 6 and you disappeared.
@@WarHawk215 Not to mention most spells in dota are targeted, meaning you just point and click and it does everything for you lol. At least if a Zed/Riven gets fed, they need to be mechanically sound (outside of really low elo anyway. so like p1+). And the laning phase is a "dumbed down fighting game" where you take turns trading mindlessly? I think I'm beginning to understand why he was bronze. What is wave management/manipulation? What are cooldowns? What is macro? Vision? Priority? Tethering? Tempo? Etc. It's weird how Dota players love to jerk about their game being the "best" or the "hardest" or whatever. I really enjoy both games, but play more league since I enjoy it more, the mechanics, champions, etc, is all just way more fun imo. I have no problem with dota, but the players are insufferable. Every /r/Dota2 thread, every twitch chat convo, etc, is all mentioning league of legends and how dota is better. Even Purge's 7.0 rundown had him saying "what is this fucking league of legends?" multiple times. Like why can't dota players just play their game and enjoy it instead of fueling their superiority complexes. Lol.
@@bleakff595 He did warn us that he is gonna be biased but he didn't warn us that he is gonna be ignorant, he had bad experience with league and that can happen when you're new to a moba and not knowing how your champion works especially playing them like dota. And yeah it's bizarre just how dota 2 players loves to shit on league and say their game is far superior meanwhile almost nobody in league is shit talking dota 2. I feel like part of it is just the dota demographic, part of it is nostalgia from dota 1, and part of it is hipster mentality of not doing the most mainstream thing. I'd say both games are good in their own right but at the end numbers speak for themselves and for most people league is the better game for the reasons that you mentioned.
The Best moba for you is probably the 1st you ever played and.. You will try to get into something else hoping for better experience but eventually you came back to the good old rathole you know and love.
Loving HotS due to the different maps with different objectives. Also love that there aren't items. Talent system is def a better system imo. League can be fun with friends, but then if one friend makes a mistake or two, an enemy gets fed, buys op items and just 1shots everything. And Dota2 is like the Black Desert Online of Mobas, where it is just overwhelming and thus a pain to even get into.
Dota 2 is worse than lol in terms of getting fed and destroying the other team ...i played once and somebody got a doublekill...nobody was able to kill that person for the rest of the game while he butchered us . The point is in league you can itemise against specific champions bcs you pretty much have items for everithing ( too much healing on the enemy team ..go buy antiheal items as an example) and a losing team can win if they are smart enough to use their brains . I dont like that in hots you cant carry so its a major flow for the game bcs watching pro play is boring af and you have to rely on others in order to win. In lol if you are good enough you can carry an entire team all by yourself . Just imagine the satisfaction . All of the hours of mastering a champion paying off. You cant experience this in hots .
@@calindanielbelibou6137 cuz Dota is mostly a strategy about resource management. Instead of using skill u will mostly like defeat enemy by overfarming, pushing, using ur advantages to win fights and etc. Pressing buttons in dota is easy, but u need to use it wisely. In other mobas I feel like it's much more about mechanic skill and teamwork.
I like lol as a game, but the locked heroes is annoying. Dota has all heroes free. Unlike smite. and hots locked heroes take weeks of grinding for an epic Edit: learning what all the heroes do is probably the hardest part for new players too
As a smite player, i like hots (heroes of the storm) more because it has so much more unique heroes to play cho'gal, abathur, lost vikings so many interesting heroes and the leveling is amazing, i love playing azmodan and either leveling his beam, minion spam or just get every active (i play hots casually so i dont care what i level), i just hate how every hero cost 10k, its just too much gold to collect and thats one of the main reasons i dont main hots (also cuz i have spent over 1k on smite but dont tell anyone)
Yeah. For me it’s 1. Awesomenauts 2. Battlerite 3. HOTS 4. League 5. Dota(I have tried so many times to get into it but I just can’t, I will prob try again soon lol...) 6. Smite (I don’t care about smite I have like 2 hours and it didn’t interest me.)
Raison you don’t? You have to spend your blue essence on a champ very rarely and it only takes a few hours of game time to buy the champ you want towards the start of the game, and you don’t have to buy runes idk where you or that from
I find my biggest problem with LoL and DoTA2 is the map size :(, it is so daunting to get into a game with such a large map. HoTS does it pretty great with changing up the map pools, even the largest maps in HoTS is no where near as large as DoTA or LoL. Too bad the meta of HoTS is a stale mess, it's been exactly the same for a full year. Yes, there have been heroes added, but the same heroes are picked and banned every single time. The new heroes seem to be created completely OP to entice people to buy them so they can own with them before they get nerfed too. Anyway, your video was pretty good :).
Well, my first moba was League, after some time playing it I've got an access to closed beta of Smite, really liked it, but still played League. But Riot decided to completely rework 4 out of 6 my favorite characters (and the way they rework them is just throwing away old characters visuals, voice, abilities and release brand new character with the same name and theme - I was really mad when they've done that to Karma, then to Shen, then to Graves, then to Taric and there are rumors that the same will happen to Twisted Fate leaving only Miss Fortune intact). Also the thing that this game over the years changed so much that it's hard to get into it with nostalgia (and it's still changing, like that new Akali, that is offputting to me both visually and kitwise). So around 5 years ago I switched to Smite and have around 3k hours in it (toxicity you were telling about is rare on my current level of play) when I play League almost like once a month (strangely enough many people I know who play/played League refuse to try Smite and call it shitty game).
Having played League & Smite, you're absolutely right. Smite looks better visually because it's from a lower perspective. League has better skins. You hit the nail on the hand about League saying new champs just revamp previous champs but better.
I havent played smite . League of legends have summoner spells ( like flash ignite etc ) , exist those things on smite? And what they do on a normal game?
@@ergicela4420 We call them runes. You choose one at the start of the game with the other slot being a ward until lvl 15. Once lvl 15 you can get your 2nd rune
Smite camera angle and design makes it more appealing to people less educated in the system and play style of MOBAs. I created a smurf account and realised I wasn’t getting into good games until level 50 ( around 150 hours of playtime) . Smite is my favourite moba in which I have spent 3000 hours on the game and it’s frustrating to see people judge it harshly when they have never experienced a rank game in high elo.
You say this but it's frustrating when the people who make the game have never have experienced the game at high elos. Heck the lead designer has qualified for Conquest ranked once in Season 2
@@chr1s_CS that is with a smurf, of course if you play in a smurf you are gonna get matched with new players wich makes it relatively not fun until you get to a higher level
As a mostly league player the main thing that made it hard for me to get into it is the HUD and particles. I found it far harder to pay attention to what's going on, my health, other ppl's health, npcs health, where champions are in fights, etc than it is in other mobas
Personally, I feel like smite is the best out of these. I have spent a reasonable amount of time on 3 of these 4 games (except for lol). And so far I've had my best experience with smite. There are many game modes, a ton of Gods, and the community really isn't that bad as shown in the video. I give it a 8/10. But again, this is just my opinion.
Boys boys lets not go crazy i’m 6 k and out of my experience meepo has the hardest micro and arc warden is pretty easy compared to meepo. You would better commend chen because your comments dont make a lot of sense
You have just earned a new sub, my good sir! This is the quality I look for in the videos I watch, and I don't even like mobas! That's how good you are! XD Lol Have a great day and keep on the good work! :D
Took me awhile to get into DOTA but once I did it became an extremely fun and rewarding experience. Just play a very easy hero with only a couple abilities (Sniper, PA) and learn their last hit animation in the trainer for like 15-30 min. Just slowly try and learn a new mechanic each game you play. Dota does take time and patience to learn, but there’s nothing better than outsmarting someone and killing them based on you clearly being the better player. Just stick to it, and eventually you’ll realize it’s superiority to other mobas.
I know this has been out for awhile but it just popped up in my feed. You hit the nail on the head about DOTA 2, I tried getting into a couple months ago and it’s extremely overwhelming for new players to get into.
It was good until they started to make shitty Skins, wich changed characters COmpletely... Dota is the best cosmetics system in moba games for sure....
your kind *KINDA* right, but graphics not everything, I rather take Gameplay anyday over Graphics, players always wanting more graphics but sadly when they do? IT sucks .... Gameplay all the way.
Every complaint for SMITE just made it sound better than the other 3 tbh. When it comes to skill shots, the more the merrier, and equipping talents instead of a complicated buy menu of items sounds way better too.
Played all of them and I'd have to say smite. I play it casually while I play league the most. Smite is a breath of fresh air. Something over powered? Make everyone else over powered.
you actually did a really good job on not having a biased opinion. I personally am a league of legends fan boy and I have been since season 1, and i would never be able to make a video like this without making my game sound really good. Thanks for genuine honest video.
I tried to introduce my Pro-LOL friends to it, but they disliked it because things were more difficult than lol. They even had stupid arguments like "Why is the map on the wrong side" but they did not realize THEY CHOOSE SIDE THEMSELVES IN OPTIONS.
I'd say you can't compare mobile moba's to well pc moba's, I'd put them into two different categories, but when it comes to mobile, it's all about vain glory.
thing with smite is that, yes, there are a lot of toxicity CAUSE it has so many skill shots, but i love the 3rd person view makes it 10x better for me than all the other ones. its what drew me in and why i have over 1000 hours on it
Heroes of the storm is the only ‘MOBA’ I’ve actually played, but I have friends that play all of the other popular mobas. While I’m not going to pretend that HotS is the best (unlike all the LoL trolls commenting on this video), I do know that it’s uniqueness is what makes it so desirable. Since the game is still so new, the community is still growing. That makes it the most inviting game for new players. The dev community is SUPER active and involved with this game, releasing WEEKLY balance changed to make sure that (almost) every hero is somewhat playable. You can get skins, sprays, mounts, etc. without spending a dime, and that’s fun! Now, for fairness sake, I’ll throw in a few of the game’s downsides. Mostly, it’s hard to get good at. I know I know, it’s probably harder to get good at league or dota. But what I mean is, it’s harder to fundamentally learn how a moba works when playing heroes because there are so many different maps and objectives. It’s easy to get caught up in it all and lose track of what fundamental skills will improve your game. There is a very clear line that separates those players that fundamentally understand how lane matchups, ganks, counter picking etc. and those who just spend all of their time playing one single hero and thinking that because they’re a high level with said hero, that makes them good at the game. However, those are the sacrifices you have to be willing to make when playing a game that’s overall just more enjoyable. The game lengths are only about 15-25 minutes long, so you don’t have to stay focused for so long, the community is FAR more friendly then that of the other games, and the developers clearly understand what their community wants from them, and (for the most part) they deliver! I’d love to answer any and all questions regarding HotS. I have banked about 3,000 games over 2+ years (since the game was released) and am Platinum in ranked play.
I am a LOL player (5 years by now), and i will still side with you man. Just newly turn to HOTS and it's really a great game. IDK if i am that GOOD or the game is too easy(would i anticipate the most), with 1 mouth i got to plat 3 the last season playing all roles. The idea of being able to play ADC(a term that describe a champion that is a ranged one and normally weak early but way to strong late game from league in case you didn't understand) without a support feel so convenient! I have lvl 23 on Valla by now, and her talents which allow you to function as a massive aoe dmg dealer with Q-Striff build or AA champion with even super attack-speed or range is something i can never have in League (never tried her W build it looks so stupid ~.~). Of course It's way better with a support (much love for you guys who made my live easier versus assassins xd). The only thing what i don't like about it is what i said earlier, it's so damn easy and solo-carry potential is really slim due to the exp sharing system. Other then that i really enjoyed playing it. And why Raynor have 3.5k hp when i have 2.2k as Valla (aside from his E)(lvl 23 i guess?). Still beat his ass with tones of dmg though :2
I love Smite because of the skill shots. It's one of the only mobas that I enjoy. I love the fact that you can tell if someone is new to the game just by the way they use thier auto attacks.
I have played all four, and it truly is a tough situation to put yourself in. They all shine in their different ways, and all have their moments of extreme suck.
I’ve played league of legends for 4 years. I can everyone that lol is for me the most fun game. Playing it for 4 years means that I’ve enjoyed it more than dota or hos. I found dota to hard to get into and hos a little too simple. All that matters is once you play a game like this for a long while, you will have fun.
I am a league player, never touched DOTA, but it seems like thats the best, LEAGUE is good but DOTA seems more towards the core gaming spirit League these days, especially these days is snowball city, 4 kills on one person and its done, afterwards the rest opponents group around that person and trying tellling people to push the damn waves, all they want to do is go and keep feeding
I just made the switch as well. Used to play in EU but had to move :{ sadly can't transfer account and the new champion system seems major pay-to-win. Dota is super daunting and man i lost my first 8-10 games or something but you learn and the champion balances and variations and it feels like a completely new way to play moba sometimes :D
Menigma 10 snowballing is a problem more in some metas, but in lower elo’s I definetly don’t think it is done with a lead. Below plat and even above, it’s more about who throws less than who wins more objectives. Many games won by ace/pick->baron despite gold disadvantage. Doesn’t matter how ahead you are if you got caught out before the team fight.
TL; DR: I'm biased as fuck. I've played and loved DotA, hated LoL for it being too easy, went back to DotA, started playing Dota 2 in 2012, tried Smite and liked the idea, got bored of it. Played HotS pre 2.0, didn't like. Tried after 2.0 and still play it quite often with friends. Keep coming back to Dota 2. This is completely subjective, spiked with a few facts about the games. I'll never claim that, for example, LoL can't be fun to anyone, just because it lacks so many things DotA had. There's people having fun playing farmville, fun is subjective as fuck. I will ignore anyone claiming "LoL > Dota 2" or "Smite > LoL" without giving context and reason as to why they think that is the case. I started playing DotA back when I was a kid with a couple of friends, fun times. Since then I've tried all of the four "MOBAs" mentioned in this video. (Going to ignore that last trash "game" you mentioned in the end) I played LoL for about two months before I got sick of it and went back to DotA - This was still back in 2009, when LoL was first released. I haven't touched it since, even though I thought about it a few times. A few of my friends back then got stuck on LoL and probably still play it today. The sole reason why LoL exists was to create an easier game than DotA, removing lots of mechanics and items from the game. Which is also the main reason I dislike it. Adding to that is the fact that you have to purchase champions. Smite on the other hand, I really only ever enjoyed with friends. But I tried the game during my hardest Dota 2 phase, so that made viewing the game objectively impossible. The game is okay fun, I love the idea of a 3rd person MOBA and the character design is cool as well, but it just doesn't bring me as much joy as Dota 2 does. Not all gods are available without extra cost. HotS is awesome ever since the 2.0 release. Before that I didn't like it at all. I usually only play it with friends, but I sometimes play it alone. The game is just so creative. So many different maps and objectives. The heroes all differ from each other and they're all from Blizzard games, which makes most of them really nostalgic to me. Easy to get into, but it has a decent skill cap. I mentioned purchaseable heroes as a downside on LoL, same with HotS - but it has a lot less impact in HotS I feel. And I've also received quite a few heroes from loot boxes I earned by playing. Still a minus in my book. Dota 2 - Shit I've been playing that game since 2012 now, albeit I have had a few breaks in between for either a few months and even a full year. I only ever stopped playing, I always kept watching eSports. By now I've accumulated more than 3400 hours of gametime. The game is brutal for new players. I had the advantage of having played DotA, so I knew most of the basics, but a few friends I tried to get into the game over the years were always shocked at running into a concrete wall when playing the game. There's more than 100 heroes from the start, you don't have to buy a single one. Which also means your enemies can play any of them, and they will. So you either learn ALL the abilities of ALL the heroes, nowadays adding the skill tree on top of that, or you'll never really win without being carried. On top of that, there's the dozens of items you can purchase, that can turn a support hero into the carry and vice versa. Don't get me started on all the different mechanics and differences between them. Silence and Mute for example sound very alike, do have a very different impact on the game though. If you want quick fun with only a tad of salt, play HotS. Especially good with friends. Excels at different maps, herodesigns and mapobjectives. If you want quick fun in 3rd person with shit loads of salt, play Smite. You can play lots of Gods and feel all mighty or some shit. If you want fun with even more salt, cancerous community, developers who don't give a shit about originality ('tis be a quote, look it up.) and a paywall to play the newest and op as fuck champion, play LoL. If you want a game that keeps punishing you, can literally ruin your day within 40 minutes of playtime and still entices you to come back a couple hours or days later, play Dota 2. Because if you win in Dota 2, it feels all the more rewarding. Be prepared to get trashed for the first 500 hours. I recommend playing the game with 4 other friends that are new to the game and learn together. PS.: feel free to comment, all the spelling errors are mine and you may correct them at your own pleasure.
Kloetee Also, champs in LoL are so fucking unbalanced, so many of them don't have an MP (mana pool). I love Dota for its difficulty, complexity and balance. You can see that 109/115 heroes are picked during the TI 2018 (except Techies), shows how balanced this game is. P/s: maybe one guy (IceFrog) is better at balancing than a whole company (Riot)
If Riot were to balance all their champs, they'd have to add a lot more mechanics. Turn rates for example. They'll never do that. They also know that they'll sell less of their OP heroes if everything is balanced. That is also the main reason why all the heroes in Dota 2 are available for everyone, balance is the most important part. We might still get to see Techies, if Liquid gets bored in the Bo5 Grand Final (they'll get there for sure)
Been playing them all since original DotA, but HotS is the only one that kept me coming back. As for your criticisms, a hero having individual talents rather than an individual subset of useful items out of hundreds available basically does the same thing without the overwhelming choice. And personally I never felt limited by any of the prices in HotS. In fact I only ever bought one skin, and now have legendary ones on almost every hero. It's definitely the most accessible game, and the least toxic community. The sharing of XP with weaker players may feel like holding you back, but it also holds back the mentality of the whole game being a competition within your team about who carried and who is to blame. And yet the skill ceiling is high enough fot interesting championships.
Paragon was the future of 3rd view mobas with UE4 engine graphics with verticality, eagerly waiting for the next Paragon to show up. Smite wasn't aimed for the future.
I like SMITE, even if some things are completely broken, I just like the third person view, it makes me feel more involved in the action, and more skilled when I kill a enemy, I like the aiming and moving, and the overall feel of SMITE, with the camera angle, it makes roaming the maps more immersive. I can't play other MOBAs because they just don't appeal to me, it feels like a mobile clicking game, but that is just me.
I personally really like smite, I love the history of gods and it's fun to see them in action (Medusa is my favorite god) but the community just sucks, people are very toxic and just really takes some fun out of the game

And i aswell think league sucks and thats why i stoppd 2y ago and only play maybe once a month whit friends
Haven’t played much of Smite so I don’t have an informed opinion on that. So I’ll comment on what I’m familiar with. LoL = a cesspool of toxicity and frustration, even in winning matches Dota 2 = a fucking chore, not a game HotS = the only game that lets you have dynamic fun and don’t compel you to queue in ranked modes It’s sad the Blizzard is trying hard to push HotS into a competitive scene. Because the most fun I’ve ever had in moba is HotS quick match.
I just have to say this: SMITE is a great Moba when it comes to fanfare and content. But sucks ass in the balance department. League hates it‘s fans and Riot only sees them as Money milking beings, but has a better balance system than SMITE. Dota 2 is in between both, which makes it suck the least. And Heroes of the Storm is... A game.
I would agree with you if it was season 3 or 4 but lately most gods are balanced with a few exceptions but specially items. In past seasons there was like just one build for very role but nowadays you can buidl everything pretty much.
I like smite cause I can do it on my ps4 and my computer doesn’t have a lot of disk space left and all the other games eat it all So I can’t download other stuff

For sure, I will look to do an updated version of this video (probably with more facts and slightly less subjectivity) before the year is over.

As a League player, I often wanted to switch to the appearently superior Dota 2. But as you mentioned: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get into the game unless your willing to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours into it, which I am not willing to do. For me, Dota is like football for me, i rarely play myself but watch pros match or tourney very often, its way more entertaining that way.
Me too . Im bad playing dota so i dont . But id rather see channels youtube others streamers playing it
u watched TI ? :3
So much like football
If DOTA2 is so good, why isn't there a DOTA3??
Coz there's no need?
The same reason there will never be a LoL2.
Gaben!
technically dota 2 is dota 3. Since hon is dota 2
Because its made by valve.

Quazer Games bless 🙏
Hots Maps = Many but straightforward spoon fed objectives = Hard to Learn them all, Easy to learn individually and Hard to master all, easy to master individually (if you focus on one at a time)
Compared to dota = 1 map but really huge and you have to figure out the objectives on your own = Easy to Learn, Hard to Master
I can't speak about the Smite and LoL as I haven't played them but these 2 have their own pros and cons depending on the audience.
Good ol Lost Vikings. Turning the moba in to a mini RTS.
lukas holzer I don't play it so I don't know but you sound like your talking from a perspective where you play like a lot in one day

My fav thing in smite is still buying skins where the "quiet" command is funny. Like for the Jing Wei Mini Metal skin her Quiet command says "Just shut up already"
Adrian Lorentzen Ganesha is the best. "Contemplate silence!".
That is also great. Ganesha probably has one of the best base voice packs tbh. His voice is so soothing :0
Talk about skill cap about Smite, when there Dota in conversation
Fam the 3rd person doesn’t really add a higher skill gap, it’s just a different view point so you have to play it a different way. DOTA 2 has a MUCH higher skill gap for a giant amount of mechanics

League can be fun with friends, but then if one friend makes a mistake or two, an enemy gets fed, buys op items and just 1shots everything. And Dota2 is like the Black Desert Online of Mobas, where it is just overwhelming and thus a pain to even get into.
And because fuck Blizzard.

I like lol as a game, but the locked heroes is annoying. Dota has all heroes free. Unlike smite. and hots locked heroes take weeks of grinding for an epic
Edit: learning what all the heroes do is probably the hardest part for new players too
As a smite player, i like hots (heroes of the storm) more because it has so much more unique heroes to play cho'gal, abathur, lost vikings so many interesting heroes and the leveling is amazing, i love playing azmodan and either leveling his beam, minion spam or just get every active (i play hots casually so i dont care what i level), i just hate how every hero cost 10k, its just too much gold to collect and thats one of the main reasons i dont main hots (also cuz i have spent over 1k on smite but dont tell anyone)

Why would u pay for rpgs when you can set sail
So basically give 150 hours of your time to a game so you can find pleasure in that game. Yeah no.
@@chr1s_CS that is with a smurf, of course if you play in a smurf you are gonna get matched with new players wich makes it relatively not fun until you get to a higher level

Who is you favorite god?
Lets be honest tho compared to lol champion design and dota 2 were nothing atleast were better then heros of the storm
I have played all four, and it truly is a tough situation to put yourself in. They all shine in their different ways, and all have their moments of extreme suck.
Just play fighting games. Fighting games are the best.
Yea fuck it I'm off to blazblue or guilty gear
I’ve played league of legends for 4 years. I can everyone that lol is for me the most fun game. Playing it for 4 years means that I’ve enjoyed it more than dota or hos. I found dota to hard to get into and hos a little too simple. All that matters is once you play a game like this for a long while, you will have fun.
Hots was my MOBA gateway drug. It's very accessible. I still play it sometimes when I feel like drooling on myself!
Seriously, it's 2k18 already and in this world different fandoms are still trying to kill each other.
I am a league player, never touched DOTA, but it seems like thats the best, LEAGUE is good but DOTA seems more towards the core gaming spirit
League these days, especially these days is snowball city, 4 kills on one person and its done, afterwards the rest opponents group around that person and trying tellling people to push the damn waves, all they want to do is go and keep feeding
Winning a game in DOTA feels wayyy satisfying than winning a game in league.
4 kills on one person is definetly not a loss yet.
@@cheadams6914 agreed
Menigma 10 snowballing is a problem more in some metas, but in lower elo’s I definetly don’t think it is done with a lead. Below plat and even above, it’s more about who throws less than who wins more objectives. Many games won by ace/pick->baron despite gold disadvantage. Doesn’t matter how ahead you are if you got caught out before the team fight.
Heroes of Newerth thats the one that sucks the least
It become shit a couple years now
TL; DR: I'm biased as fuck.
(Going to ignore that last trash "game" you mentioned in the end)
I played LoL for about two months before I got sick of it and went back to DotA - This was still back in 2009, when LoL was first released.
Kloetee same idea 😙😙
I have tried LoL before and soon got bored. It is quite simple and isn't as conplex as Dota2
Kloetee Yep, Riot will never do that, because they are greedy ass.
Loved the part with hots I agree with u
Dude, I was so sad when Paragon died. We need another...
I like SMITE, even if some things are completely broken, I just like the third person view, it makes me feel more involved in the action, and more skilled when I kill a enemy, I like the aiming and moving, and the overall feel of SMITE, with the camera angle, it makes roaming the maps more immersive.
