For a long time I knew that placing the hands on the chest is the only established Sunnah and negated the placement of hands below the navel in Salah. But in recent times I've found that it is a well established and ***arguably the superior sunnah*** supported by so many scholars including Imam Sufyan Ath-Thaowri, Imam Ahmad, Ishaq Bin Rahwaih, Ibne Taimiya, Ibnul Qaiyyem, Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab. Ishaq Bin Rahwaih, the great Muhaddith and teacher of Imam Bukhari stated that, "Placing the hands below the navel is closer to humility and superior in narration." After knowing this statement I accepted the placement of hands below the navel with my submissive emotion of the heart became unwreathed like dam-breaking tide.
