The steering wheel was the first mod I did on my 2016 civic. It was just a leather cover but the kind you have to sew, I recommend it if you have the time and patience as it's cheap and a good looking alternative, it's also nice to consider that this way you get a better grip if you have large hands! Loving the civic vids🙌
Thanks for sharing. I tried sewing a cover on my old 335i but I wasn’t too happy with the wrinkles mine had. It definitely requires time and patience. Glad yours turned out nice. Thanks for watching!
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. Most other videos attempt to remove the trim and buttons together which is a recipe for broken clips IMO. As soon as I tried your method it came apart without issue. You saved my afternoon!
This vid helped me so much. I just did it. Couple of tips: the silver trim doesn’t need to be taken off separately from the button assemblies. The wires don’t need to come out of their retaining hooks in the back piece. Pushing some parts out works better than prying. Push the tabs with a screwdriver . Impact gun wasn’t enough for me . Had to use a breaker bar. Steering wheel column needs to come forward to reach the side screw for the airbag
I bought a 400$ wheel from ebay. For the life of me I can't get the buttons and trim to clip together. They're so close but they're not clipped and there's .5mm gap with the trim. I tried both ways: putting the buttons in THEN the trim. And assembling the buttons and trim together and trying to put that into the wheel as 1 piece but when I push the buttons all the way in the trim unclips. I swear the button housing is off by 1mm. I try using all my weight pushing the buttons down and out to the sides, like to the point I hear the plastic creaking (so I know they're mounted all the way into the wheel) I just think their placement is off. I ordered 2 other wheels from Amazon to give it a try & see if I have better luck. They're the same 400$ ebay wheel I ordered though. One was 300, the other 270 & all 3 are identical. I'm just hoping the ebay one was indeed off in regards to button housings & ill have better luck with one of the Amazon ones
Yea! Still my favorite exterior mod. The quality is really good, still bright with no issue to report so far. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08QD3V9D7/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B08QD3V9D7&linkCode=as2&tag=sal05cb-20&linkId=ca1ff18e0796cd7ed3f99198cfb600d4

Fitment may need some modifications sounds like. Sometimes trimming excess plastic material can fix it. Good luck 👍
Recently did this on my 2020 civic sport it’s sm cleaner
Glad to hear!
Nice, me also bought one for the 8th Gen coupe.
Awesome! Congrats 👍
Great, Great Video. Thanks.

Is it possible to install paddle shifters with this civic variant?
