Eye opening discussion. Homeowner in nor cal fire country living in an unsealed uninsulated 1939 home. Working to change that. Air quality is major for bay area! Did i say MAJOR?! Days when you can’t go outside. My house leaks so much. This is so helpful as i work with home energy /ecology contractors. Very helpful especially about the pressure issue. Yes pascals. My contractor talks about them. I have an open crawl space that we are looking at sealing putting the air handler down there. Again very very helpful 😊
It's a great topic. If I can make a suggestion, the moderator should look directly into the camera and be closer. Many people rely on reading lips and hearing. Second it's disconcerting as she removes herself from the discussion by turning her head sideways when talking. The upper middle participant has an audio problem: her voice is too low and distorted. A pre-recording sound check would help. The men are generally louder than the women.
RE: running ventilation full on for the first few weeks in a new home--would you want to possibly also have a dehumidifier going depending on the exterior environmental conditions to prevent too much moisture loading indoors?

So what if you have an AC in the attic? Would you want to run that ventilation system with a ducted ERV?? I fo t have much option AFAIK.
Staining, polyurethane trim, painting all raised humidity through the roof!
