I certainly love the idea of having my loan assessed by reddit... hive mind is more powerful than one!

I'm trying to buy my first house but I'm using a conventional loan if that's the house doesn't qualify for FHA my question is I'm like 4,000 short of what the quote for closing costs will be can I use a credit card to pay some of that

You cannot use a credit card. I would suggest you talk to your lender to see if there’s anything that you really don’t need to do. A lot of lenders will give you a lower rate but charge your points, which can be a lot of money. Look into that to make sure you don’t have that going on.

Currently having the same lender issues you’re describing with Rate, go figure?! 😪

Text me so I know who you are dealing with. Rate has like 2000 loan officers so let me know. 786-933-2077

So, if the initial lender is really slow then that compresses the timeframe for the new lender to step in and make the necessary moves.

Thanks for the info Jennifer. Any thoughts on grant down payment programs?

Some are good some are bad. Really depends on the program.
