The first clean vocals in Death Metal were not actually in Unorthodox but in Left Hand Path by Entombed. In the song Bitter Loss, L.G. Petrov (RIP) uses clean baritone vocals.
Oh Dan Swanö is a Genius. He has definitely helped bands like Insomnium, Be’Lakor, In Mourning, Wilderun and honestly even Opeth. Dan Swano also is a Masterful producer as well. Crimson 1 and Purgatory afterglow are my favorites as well.
Holy crud I found acknowledgement of my favorite metal band. Anyway, I couldn't rank them all so I'll just rant about EOS. I found Crimson via a UA-cam comment and was blown away by those 40 minutes, then again by Crimson 2, which is my favorite EOS album, and the one I would argue to possibly be the greatest death metal album, or possibly metal album in general. Combined with the best lyric writing in metal that I've ever heard and the legendary outro, It would absolutely be the greatest if Mikael's "Unholy god" scream from Crimson pt. 7 returned. I've actually become acquainted with Dan via Instagram DMs. He is actually one of the coolest dudes I've ever talked to. Clearly respects his fans just as much as we do him. Any other EOS videos or EOS related videos you could direct me to? From literally anyone, it doesn't matter.

One of my fav band of all time and the most underrated for sure. I listen to them since the release of Unorthodox and I was hooked. My ranking will be different than yours 8 : Crimson 2 (A Swanö album but without the other members) 7 : Cryptic ( An EoS album but without Dan) 6 : Infernal (Great but the other albums are better) 5 : Nothing but Death Remains (100% agree, production is lame but music is great) 4 : Crimson ( Very good concept album, an anthology of extreme music) 3 : Unorthodox (My first experience with EoS and still love it, Enigma, Dead but dreaming, A curfew for the damned and many more excellent songs) 2 : Purgatory Afterglow (Masterpiece, dark, brutal, agressive and melodic) 1 : The Spectral Sorrows (Another masterpiece, proggy, more melodic, a lot of clean vocals but what an album!! Darkday, Living Hell, Lost, The masque, and last but not least Jesus Cries and the crucifixion at the end 😂) For the 2 firsts in this ranking it depends on my mood. Because I love them equally

Thank you Dan for all your contributions to the Extreme scene and i hope to hear new music soon.

I’ve been of fan of the spectral sorrows for years now. I just listened to purgatory afterglow and my first impression of the album is that it’s pretty lame. Maybe it will grow on me but idk
For me is like this: 1.Purgatory Afterglow (first one I bought with them and one of my all time favorite albums) 2.Nothing but Death Remains (shocked at first listen, coming after Purgatory Afterglow to some more primitive death metal, that's why is my second favorite) 3.The Spectral Sorrow 4.Unorthodox 5.Crimson (I'm not into gimmicks like this, having a one loooong song and it's also the most progressive one. I'm not a big prog fan) 6.Crimson II 7.Infernal (good but they kinda said everything they had to at this point) 8.Cryptic (kinda forgettable... there still are good moments in there).

I'm forever thankful to him for producing the first two Dissection albums.

If only they mastered their albums well. I wish he has a professional remaster all of their albums.
He's also produced Millencolin, believe it or not. For Monkeys is a great skate punk album.
Great ranking and to think Dan Swanö is involved with Mother Of Graves makes you salivate
