    You keep on knocking but you can't come in! Oh that's so funny Annie, I made a mouse last week and wanted to sew a mushroom umbrella. I prefer the way you have done it, gonna make another one. That looks so nice, thank you for the inspiration.

      hehe I could happily have knocked them around the head with that blinkin hammer by the end of the day Johnny!! Seems to be all quiet now though, hopefully it was just a weekend job. Thank you so much Jen, I'm really happy you enjoyed it - my head is bursting with ideas for more mushrooms, baskets to put them in, woodland scenes with felted and stitched forest floor, strange caterpillars with hookah pipes .... this could go on and on .... isn't it wonderful how one beautiful piece of fabric and a vague idea can just take wings and fly, another example of how we all inspire each other in this creative community of ours :) xo

    Yes!! Sue should sell kits, definitely! Embrace the wonk, yes, I love how organic your shroom looks. The way you modified the shape of the stem looked really interesting and fun to do. It came out absolutely magical!

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  7 місяців тому

      Thanks Carrie - I think each shroom will insist on doing its own thing, but I have already dug out my fungi book to find more inspiration for shapes and textures. Though if you came across one like this in the woods I think you'd do a double-take! Sue has now made up kits, I've added a link to the description - I think they're going fast :)

    Great 'shroom' making and I love how you've used the purple for the gills. The velvet is absolutely gorgeous and so I've picked up one of Suzie's kits :). Before I go I have to ask, what brand of scissors are those on your desk? I always notice scissors - lol!

    I made a mushroom out of 2 yoyos and put some stuffing between them and sewed it up and made my stock a little smaller and not quite as fat as yours and wrapped lace around the stalk I put some fancy bead work on top of the mushroom that came from a sari...I used like satin fabric on both the top and bottom...the gills...I took a little distressing ink and used it on the stalk....probably will make another one a little smaller than this one and put them in a cloche with some moss around the bottom of them....

    • @artyfartyannie

Hope you're doing ok and recovering well Lindsey xo

    Lovely mushroom. Aww the velvet fabric is fabulous. Himm soon to be sold fabric packs eekk um yes please. Gosh those sequins are beautiful catching the light. Had a Quick Look Suzie is making kits sending to England and America I’ve asked if she will send to NZ. Yes these mushrooms could be addictive I’m thinking would be great on the windowsill in my artroom, yep lovely bright happy mushrooms to look at as the weather turns to awful. Saturday night we had thunderstorms ⛈️ boy were they strong flashes in the sky every half second constant rumble with bangs and crashes last half an hour I fear autumn is on its way. Still had a lovely summer, way to hot and got to play on our beaches (tides here very strong so dangerous water but it was so calm loads of people swum and bonus no one drowned this year well here on the WC of the SI) which was rather fabulous.
    Must get on Monday today and sigh it’s clean oven day ah the fun never ends, maybe I could have a look see and find some fabric I could play with this afternoon. Aww I got a kit! Yep will know wait on the postie here. Our postal service has well gone to the cats (would say dog but well let’s be truthful dogs would deliver quicker than NZ post lol) I’m getting post once a week. People are getting things supper late so I expect in two months I will receive my mushroom kit just right to play with on a cold winters day. I can wait.

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  7 місяців тому

      Thanks Paula and ooh yes a little cluster on your window sill would be so cute. I'm thinking I'lll end up making a basket and then filling it with mushrooms, I have dig out my fungi book for inspiration, I do find fungi fascinating! :) Your postal service is pretty dismal isn't it? Is it any better if it's delivered from Amazon or other couriers rather than postal service or is it just as bad? I'm glad you had a lovely summer - time to get ready for some cosy autumn/winter crafting now :)

    • @paulalister80
      @paulalister80 7 місяців тому

      @@artyfartyannie yes other courier company’s are better, in fact our post courier is fine it’s just anything for normal post so a postal worker biking to deliver. In our area three posties have retired and no one employed to replace them so two people biking around Greymouth to deliver is well quite frankly appalling ergo once a week for normal mail. Like a said it’s a mess. Feel sorry for our postie, he’s doing us, Blake town, Cobden and bodytown quite a bit for one postie.

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  7 місяців тому

    Annie, what is the name of your needles?

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  6 місяців тому

      I can't remember which I was using on this Rhonda, but I usually prefer Chenille needles, because they're small and sharp but have large eyes, and they come in lots of different sizes, I find them really nice to use for slow-stitching projects, so it was probably one of those :)
