Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.
Check your local regulations, as each state and territory is different, before you travel into or though NP with your dog. Here is the Parks Victoria website for those of you wishing to read up on Victoria's laws 👉 www.parks.vic.gov.au/things-t... - Ігри
Very interesting for sure. I never even heard of a rocker box till recently too. Thanks for sharing Chris keep them coming! Cheers
Called a cradle in your neck of the woods.
Ok off the bat.
This is your 2nd video I've seen and you have your pup in both.
That deserves a subcribe.
That is a pretty good test you ran there with an amazing result. good old rocker box
I was surprised to say the least
Well done, I liked the test and hope you do more comparisons from the old method/equipment to new. Just subscribed
jhbutch now thats an idea.
Dude, you've got a wealth of knowledge, I enjoy watching your videos, always something new to learn, just can't stand seeing you work so hard. I also watch prospectors from here in my area, Washington State, and I know you'd have better hunting grounds here. Would be nice to watch you make some really nice hauls of gold. Anyways, cheers to you sir, from your viewers in the USA.
Thanks for another great movie mate .
Nice pans ! ! ✌
Another informative video from the land down under.
Really Awesome video! Enjoyed the side by side, Sliuce vs. Rocker Box. I'm kinda set on the Rocker.
Hell yes I want a mini rocker box for hiking
Nice yellow Chris , the old ways are often more productive : I'm looking forward to prospecting in the Victorian GT next month .
Good luck!
Hey Chris, Ed here from the States. Good video and some really nice color. some nice chunckies! Some cool camera angles also Chris, Good run Drew. Keep up the great work down there in the land of plenty. May you always have a Flash In Your Pan!
Wasn't sure the camera was going to work inside the box but it turned out ok!
That's some good color. Like both results. But that's some nice gold you caught there. Three thumbs up mate
Please make more rockerbox video's, I love it! 😀🤠👍
Ill do me best
Hi guys Joel here was a really great time with Chris learned soo much
That's great because I've got health problems with my bones.cheers for that man!
Good test and great looking gold mate
Tas D thanks mate, I was hoping it was a clear test whilst I was filming!
For me the question is which one collects more fine and flour gold
mycal berkey that's a good question.
Without going into it too deep I'm voting the rocker box. It forces the dirt over way more surface area at a slower rate. Giving the gold longer to find a place to hide.
Nice colour man, like the way you are doing it the potato sacks rocker box too. Got your book a couple of days ago and mate you done well. Not many like your book out there for what people around NE Vic new to the 'hobby' around. Congrats and looking forward to your next vid and book. Time for a ginger beer bro
I hope you got some good insight from it too. If you can/can be bothered leave me a Facebook review, helps others know what they are getting :-)
Chris will do through my mums, I don't do Facebook man. The shows are coming up too mate , get some pay dirt teach people to pan and have your book for sale, you keep the gold and the exposure too. Just a thought.
holy crap may have to build one
Interesting results there mate
was not expecting it to turn out like that hey.
I am not surprised . When my boys where small after a trip to Sovereign Hill we built a rocker box out of scrap pieces of wood . I had just started prospecting and we caught some good gold . Really the rocker box is a good cheap alternative to a sluice .
Peter Shelley it's actually the for runner to the high banker, very efficient and you can use the almost anywhere.
@@VoGusProspecting here is what I'm see as an advantage the rocker box has over a high banker. And why I'm interested in making one.
1st requires less water then a recirulating sluice.
2nd don't have to worry about burning up pump motors when water gets to murky.
This isn't for everyone.
But here is some problems I face.
Lack of water
Limestone. This makes the water to become murky quick, and quickly clogs sand filters.
Now I know. People say there is no gold in limestone deposits. But where I am there is. I found it by mistake before I knew better.
Where I am is a old sea bed. That I can't figure out how it happen but at about 2 foot down I start finding huge granite (18" very smooth round) and other seldom rocks. 10'x10' hole at 2' to 8' found three granite very rounded 18" rocks and rocks. Now from 6" to the 8' is nothing but layers of limestone. And no one has dug here before. The rocks are incased in limestone. Btw, I'm guessing limestone layers are about 500' at least. Judging from mountains 50 miles away ( closest mountains) and because oil is below that and water below that.
Anyhow when I was digging the hole. I crushed and panned some of the rock. And found a couple flakes about #20 mesh size.
On top of that, like I said everything is encased with limestone. So, when you find other rocks, they have like 1/4 layer of limestone on them. And I think this is why it has been over looked. That's beside the fact that very few people have been where I am.
I've walked 20 miles in all direction. And all dry washed have the same limestone coated rocks. That you have to break the rock to see it's not limestone. Though a big clue is when it doesn't break easy. Lol.
If I just had wood I could have all the cement I wanted.
Oh I should add.
Did try drywashing it once with no success
But drywashing isn't for fines.
Nice gold Chris well done 👍⛏⛏⛏
Caleb Smith thanks mate.
Potato Sack for the WIN :) now that's Funny.
Wish you could buy or build a rocker box
There's not a lot of flow where I go so do u think that a rocker will b better than a mini backpack sluice?I'm great with wood so it wouldn't take much to knock a yen up.
Rastaman Ralph I got this rocker for that exact reason. Think of them as a recirculating high banker.
I've used them to process 240lt of dirt in a puddle. Very effective and way less strain on your body.
What happened to the musty old hat line.
I liked it??!! :(
Personally, a gold hog stream sluice with correct tuning will beat anything in my opinion xD
Geo the rocker box is slow. The only reason it won was because of the classifying needed to run that sluice. So I'd tend to agree with you.
106 Nice gold !
Don't have to screen Dream Mat is a river sluice. Runs unclassified.
Khrysos GodofGold I firmly believe the river sluice is quicker in most situations. Just not in this case. The large rocks made it hard to get any amout of pay dirt so screened or umscreened would have made little difference I think.
You said in the video, screening takes the most time. you do not have to screen the material on a dream mat in a river sluice. Plus it has a higher feed rate than other river sluice riffles & carpet. That's if you have the flow, or your high banking.
