I think both types of videos have value. It's nice to be reminded that you're just a dude on the other end and not some disembodied voice giving us technical processes and you have use/functions for the prints you are making. Great content, great quality! Thanks for helping me learn so much about blender.
I like this format! It is often times beneficial to see a technique being applied to an actual project. Tutorials are a nice starting place, but sometimes it's difficult to translate the tutorial into a real world project. This video format provides both functions.
That way my thought so it's great a lot of people are liking it. It's nice to be at a point I can refer back to other tutorials to give the detail while I cover the whole process 😁👍🏻
Super cool- I love all your videos. The traditional tutorials are well done and I think every time you sprinkle in something like this where you go through the full process and show us prints, it solidifies in my mind that this isn't just cool on the computer screen, but it actually does work well to make some beautiful prints. You've certainly sold me on the cracking/one-click damage add-ons for this kind of work. I also love how you varied the elevation of not only the pavers but also the cracked bits within a single paver. Well suited to make it all look as authentic and dynamic as possible.
Thanks so much, I always appreciate your comments as you nail what I was trying to achieve. Glad it's giving a good idea of how the whole process works together 😁👍🏻
This was a great video! I love this format as well. I feel like this format allows you to take a step back from the technical aspects of Blender that you normally cover, and discuss how to tackle a project with these tool. I honestly find ALL your videos incredibly valuable. You are one of my favorite Blender UA-camrs; and I mean in the top 3. I always learn something from you, even where I felt like I had a good grip on something already. Your teaching approach is on point for me. You aren't just "click this, then this, then this button over here...." You do a great job of explaining why, how, and what happens if you don't. I'm honestly shocked you don't have more subscribers. You're definitely a hidden YT gem, and you have to be on the cusp of breaking out. Keep up the great work and keep the vids coming!
That's so much Matt. That's really kind words and I'm so glad my approach works for you and you like this method of explanation/discussion as well as my other videos. I'll definetly keep the format going for some larger projects and see how I can combine it with other ideas I have. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment, it's always appreciated and especially when you give such clear (and nice) feedback. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Both types of videos are really useful. The one like this one gives us a good overview of the general thinking behind your logic while the detailed ones show us how we can make such stuff ourselves. Both are extremely useful. Keep it up!

Super awesome!!! As I have said a number of times now... your assistance with Blender has been VERY helpful. Just the help you gave with figuring out simple, quick, and really nice chainmail on my miniatures, has changed everything. Please keep up the great work!
@@ArtisansofVaul Sadly, I am not on the level of those out there who put their work up for sale... so I have started "personalizing" some of the models I had purchased a while back. I like both styles of video formats! Both offer their own unique perspectives and values (the time could also determine which style.. short bite-sized ones could stick the standard ones and longer ones could be like this one)! These bases turned out great by the way (especially the 8k resolution ones). Makes me want to get a printer to do some manageable sized dioramas and paint them! Thanks for sharing!
That's very true. In fact I have printed models on bases to save printer space and make them as solid as they can be. So that's definetly a solution if you have the files. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It works less if you're using physical models. I just wanted to mention it so it covers both situations

Thank you again for this great video! Really gave some amazing insights. I was wondering however, if you would be able to do a video on boolean cleanup. Like a complete video on how you remove all issues and what issues are not a problem for 3d printing. I have followed many of your tutorials, including the 5 part video on creating titan bases. However, there it seemed as if you simply triangulate and that gets rid of all issues. Sadly this has not been the case for me, and many projects got shelved because cleanup has taken me more than a week. I for sure must be doing some things very wrong(maybe going to high poly when not necessary, or booleaning wrong). But I would love to know if you are planning to do a video on this subject, or if you already have and I have just missed it. Kind regards and love your work.
