I don’t think it’s appropriate to draw a comparison with Fuji’s X10 X20.. Image wise, may be.. But physically, G1 x is almost 200g heavier and let alone an huge advantage in sensor size. Enjoyed your VDO though, keep up with the good work~ 😊
I just bought one for around 75$ I find it is a really underappreciated camera, I think it makes great photos. Far superior to the g12 which I used to have. Will definitely try the recipes on it, your photos look amazing!

I bought one new back in the day and used it extensively at bodybuilding shows. For the price it was an amazing compact camera. I’ve had photos from it published in national magazines, newspapers and tv. The only reason I needed get a downgraded Canon G3X a few years later was that the G1X is terrible with video. Only works in auto mode. I only wished Canon made a G3X with a G1X sensor. However this past week I have discovered the G1X has Flash exposure compensation that you access via the menus so I am thinking to keep it with me at a gym I work at to get flash photos that would be difficult even with a flagship iPhone. The other think to take into consideration is that it is very power hungry and drains batteries very fast. At bodybuilding show I needed 2 batteries plus a charger to last a whole day. I’ve actually got 3 batteries as the G3X uses the same battery at the G1X.
Great video, Ive ben in the market for a no bells and whistles point and shoot and ive been bouncing between the canon G series(mark 1) and Fuji X (series Mark1). Great video, that helped me make my purchase decision... ^_^.
I had a g12 but if died.. And I'm after a good hand-held with an lcd that swivels out and rotates - like the g1x.. What other options are there out there? 🤔
Is the viewfinder as useless as they say, i wanted to use it with the viewfinder but i guess you cant see anything with that telescope of a lens, what is your experience?
I usually shoot in JPEGs. Your suggestion got me thinking that I should have a blog for that, so I can post sample images. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! :)
The G15's sensor is smaller than the G1x, but it's still a decent camera. It has the same sensor size as my G12. I love my G12. The G15 is equipped with CMOS, just like the G1x, while my G12 has a CCD. All my recipes should work on the G15 since it also has the white balance shift setting. :)
G15 is a great cam, much better light rendering then my s100 (wich is a mini g12 with a cmos sensor). It has a tendency to blow out highlights but you can customize that. Give the Nikon p7100 a look as well, its basicly a Nikon powershot g12 with some great qualities

Cool! I love both my G12 and G1x. Thank you :)

For the x10 and x20, I agree, the g1x is an alternative. but not for the x100v, it has a completely different philosophy

I bought one in 2013 - loved it a lot of the time, but the near focus performance (ie lack-of) drove me nuts.
Indeed, that part is really disappointing
G12 for that rich color. TEAM CCD
Same here :)

G1X built like a tank.
Indeed :)
I Dont really understand the Recipe. I thought this shot on a SD card?
Oh cool thanks 🙏🏾 for the tip!!! I will keep a look out for the G1x but shhh don't tell anyone,!!!!! 😂
Happy hunting! Keep the budget tight :))
