Best CHUNITHM introduction video in English 🥰 but there's still some expert skill that worth mentioning (yes ofc to make it fully covered): 2:07 There are actually 32 sections for the touchpad because each section divided by line you can see are actually sensing independently so you can hit the same vertical section in and out without making conflicts 4:24 The head of the hold notes are actually the same as basic red notes so you may get an Attack on the head or even miss a part of the hold if you miss the head; Same for the bent ones 6:04 You could tap the flick notes if the far left or (*and* for the huge ones) the far right section is in the range: in such cases once you touch those sections (only for the far left or the far right) you'll get a JC; But don't do that for flicks in the middle because you'll get an Attack if you only touch those without swiping; Flick notes count early judgements as JC so you could scratch them real fast 7:09 The Rating system is nearly the same as the Potential system in Arcaea. It's taking the average of the best 30 scores' average (b30) and the best 10 scores' average from your recent 50 plays (r10). Each song has a constant under the level and the final rating for each song is calculated from a piecewise function, where you get higher bonus in sections above SS (check this part in Chinese if you're really curious: zh.moegirl.org.cn/zh/CHUNITHM#Rating.E7.B3.BB.E7.BB.9F) 10:51 You could lose lives for an Attack or even Justice judgement in certain courses 12:18 If you reach SS in both Expert and Master difficulties of a song that owns Ultima chart you'll unlock the Ultima 19:53 The International version is not the worst because there's a Chinese version that's only updated to New+ version up to now 😇
This is like the only chunithm guide that exists on yt. I’m pretty disappointed I’m only finding this now cause this is cool and chunithm needs more attention so I hope this can help more players get into it !!!
by the way, for gloves, buy thin cotton gloves so you can slide easily while being able to move your fingers easily. on the other hand, for maimai i would suggest fabric gloves that are a bit thicker so they are durable and last longer. for ic cards, chunithm and maimai allow you to use banapassport (namco card) and aime cards.
Good video! im just going to add on somethings 1:27 : make sure if you are using a eamusement pass, they are the amusement IC version , which doesnt matter anyways as they dont sell the old one anymore, BUT STILL yea 2:30 : 120hz Cab, aka Gold Cab, is only available in Japan, while the rest of the world should only have white cabs, unless something have changed 7:31 : "very gold" is usually refer as platinum, but it doesnt look close to plat for me... 19:32 : JP cab runs around 4 month earlier than intl version, and while they might be on the same version right now, the patches are still different. and yes, the data are separate
awesome guide!! skills always confused me and this clarified a bunch 👍 also that was the wildest pronunciation of t+pazolite ive ever heard LMAO iirc u can just say it like the word “topazolite”
…slight addendum, any card with an AIC logo, typically a _red and white_ or _black and white_ symbol, depending on the brand of card will work no questions asked on aime games, in this case, chunithm and to an extent non-AIC Bandai passes
I only played once at an arcade and Im not sure of something. The size of the notes change from large, normal, and small, does it mean then that I have to adjust the number of fingers i use to tap the board with per section? If so, by how many fingers for standard? Or can all four fingers be used to tap even the small notes and it will be registered the same?
JP cabs by standard are 120hz Intl cabs by standard are 60hz but can be modded ( and honestly the ghosting on some of them makes it feel like more than 60)
Hey! I have a Konami e-amuse pass, but i'm considering on buying a Aime because I mostly play sega, and I want to use the GekiChuMai websites with my account. Is it possible to transfer data from a Konami pass to a Aime pass? I already have data on chunithm and I don't wanna lose my full combos 😭😭

Awesome guide! I'm a vet in multiple rhythm games (pretty good in 10 + 15 average ++), and I actually didn't really understand the skills in chuni. I'm lvl 4 but my rating is 13.80 😂 i see other people my lvl usually playing exp 10s, but I'm S-SS for 13-13+ now
Update: Now my rating is at 15.35, now I think about it, 5 months to 15.35 from 13.80 is pretty damn long. (Now level 16). Really excited to reach 16 in rating.
Thanks for the help, I couldn't figure out how to do the weird raise notes... apparently there are sensors at a certain height. (Also, I see Singapore on the map at the last picture, I'm gonna find that femboy place)
@@Stylusunderscore They've removed Paradise and lower versions' characters in Luminous, only keeping SUN characters (and made available new Luminous characters).
There's already 300+ songs w/o the need to unlock (yes, some do need to be grind via running the maps, or even crossplaying maimai and/or O.N.G.E.K.I) For limited time character, you either get them in that specific event, or wait for about 1 year (or more) so that it would appear in the shop, which cost ~100 P-Points per characters. (You gain 1pt for each credit you've paid (yes, if you use x2/x3/x4 tickets, you'd get extra) through out the games, capped at 30 per day if you're in Luminous version, or 15 if you're SUN+ and below).
@@hungnguyenmanh991 oh fellow comrade lul Btw, i still don't understand how characters work, do they own different kind of skill? And is it important to try to get a specific character? (Tbh 100 p point sounds quite much money there lol)
@@skedemon7361 Each character hold a skill (not counting Unlimited, Unlimited+, ...), when you unlock a character (which is available at rank 1), you'll gain 1 level for that specific seed skill (not all characters available with a seed skill, only characters that were released in SUN and Luminous allow you to gain skill seed now) When you leveling up them to rank 5, rank 10, rank 15 (or 20 for Luminous characters), you'd gain 1, 5, 1 rank for the skill respectively. Higher level skills give more gauge -> more steps -> completing maps faster. At rank 25, 50, and 100, giving you 1 rank for the unlimited skill. Except for the Unlimited skill, all skills may got removed when the new version got updated (e.g. when in SUN, you have NEW and SUN skill seeds, but now, in Luminous, you have SUN and LMN skill seeds). If you want to leveling up skills, just pick up (almost) all characters and leveling up to 10 (it's not that worth to aim for 15 and/or 20). And you should ignore all old characters, since they don't level up any of your skills anymore. There are some maps that give bonus steps when selecting a specific character, a genre, a chart level/diff, a character with rank above X, etc... Only at that time you may need a rank 25+ char to make your map progress faster. Other than that, leveling up characters just showing that you like one specific char as a waifu/husbando lol. It's just cosmetic and doesn't provide anything to the gameplay. ^ The only reason you should leveling up an old character. SOME characters have ONE transform version, which changes their appearance entirely, upon reaching 25 or 30 or something like that (a random multiple-of-5 that is >15). You get gold background of that character upon rank 15, plat? at 50, rainbow at 100+. You'd get a title upon leveling up a character to rank 50 (don't remember, maybe gold), 100 (plat title), 200 (rainbow title). You gain xp for your equipped character normally upon playing, and they gain xp faster if you use ticket (x3, x6, x9 character xp boost ticket). But at level 15, and every multiple of 5, you'd need to consume 1 (or more at higher level) golden statue to exceed the limit. You can substitue 1 gold statue with 5 silver ones. The exception is at rank 50, 100, and later (I haven't seen anyone got a character above 105, so idk), you'd need a Rainbow statue, which you can only gain it by logging in 25+ days within a month (wow, arcade addict, jk) and in some special hidden maps. Within my experience, a credit of 4 tracks (1 cab-to-cab bonus track), with a x6 char xp ticket, would leveling up a character from level 1 -> 5 just in the first track, then 5 -> 9 (almost 10) for the last 3 tracks. The process becomes longer at higher rank of course. For silver and golden statues, you'd pretty much gain them upon playing the game. Or by buying in the shop: 200k photon (the in-game currency) in LMN, or bulb in SUN for a silver statue. 15 P-Point (the currency you gain by spending money for 1 play and/or premium tickets) for a silver, 75 for a gold statue (reduce to 20 for the first purchase each month).
