F430 owner. You don't "have to" lift off on up shifts. The gearbox has been designed by Ferrari so you don't have to. This was something you more or less needed to do on very early 360s and the 355, because the technology was so new back then. It would slip between gears really badly and would throw the passenger around. In later 360 and F430 there is little to no slip between gears. Yes there is a slight pause between gears as the clutch is depressed, but that is just normal gearbox operation. Remember this is a manual with a robot doing the clutch for you. There is a natural pause between gears.
Lifting off in later adapted F1 cars will simply confuse the gearbox ECU. This is an example of good advice for some cars being suggested across entire eras of cars. UA-cam / online Chinese whispers, essentially.
And DEFINITELY keep your foot in when at wide open throttle. This is when you get the fastest shifts possible. They are blink quick, even in later 360s.

      You are right. Good explanation.

Absolutely correct. I have an 08 Spider and that is the case. It even says everywhere to keep foot on gas.

Only 10% came with a manual, 150 split between coupes and spiders in UK. The f430 manual was the last manual Ferrari ever made. It transforms f430 into an indescribable immersive experience and if you can find one with carbon bucket seats that are supremely comfortable, easy to get in and out (not what you imagine), where you ‘wear the car’ it is the peak old school Ferrari sports car. I know, I have one.

very nice review. good job. The F1 gearbox on the 430 is one of the most visceral feeling shifts and acceleration I've experienced. More fun that faster dual clutch too smooth gearboxes.

Great job man, and great channel, thank you very much! It could be possible for next reviews with manual cars to fix a camera on the pedalbox to film your footwork please? :)

I wondered how long it would take before you realised how good it is... 🤣👍

I think they improved the F1 along the way. I have a late 08 Spider and I have zero problems with how it shifts. It’s quick and crisp. I’ve owned several early manual Ferrari’s over the last twenty years. I’d never go back to all that bloody shifting. (Granted they hold their value better though)

They’ve improved the F1 gearbox with each generation. In the modern cars it’s probably the best twin clutch there is!
