A better fisherman than me told me just to keep adding bait to the hook, he was using baits the size of ya fist and far out fished me. It's all good scent I guess and like you said they have massive mouths.

I once got cut off on Cambois rocks in the dark, didn't realise how dangerous it was. Tide came in behind me and didn't notice until other anglers nearby were leaving and alerted me of the danger. I had to jump across big gaps of water, which were like little stepping stone rock islands to safety. Fell over a couple of times on slippery surface's and could have quite easily banged my head and passed out. I learned a valuable lesson that day. I never fished there in the daylight so was ill-prepared for understanding the terrain and tide at night. I went alone which was a bad move and nearly paid the ultimate price. I went off sea fishing afterwards, 20 years later I'm back. Caught a few mackerel this year and looking forward to catch some cod. You're channel and other's have inspired me to get out again, you know it makes sense, ATB.

Yeh it’s always best to check out an area in daylight first, and preferably on an ebbing tide so you can see how the water is in that area.

Love watching your stuff Danielle. I'm sure other people have given you loads of advice and stuff. I reckon you should try using pennel rigs and keep those baits more compact - not smaller, just compact. And don't re-use Vikings that you've pulled out of a snag! They need to be razor sharp for tough mouths. I'll shut up now and keep watching! Keep enjoying your fishing. And thanks for the vids!

The Sonik SKS Black has been known to snap pretty easily Danielle. Not a good rod overall for the price you pay to have them break so easily. For not far off the same price you can get a Ron Thompson Axcellorator which is a much more capable rough ground rod & just much better overall. I have never used the SKS black personally as i wouldn't waste the money on giving it a try after seeing several friend have theirs break in short periods of time. One of which broke 2nd session @ the 3rd eye from top, only to have it replaced by Sonik & then have it break again 3 sessions later on the 2nd eye down on clean ground. The Sonik Dominator is around the same price & is way less broke to snapping. So if yours breaks & you wanna stick to Sonik try that one. I can't remeber the last time i caught a fish as quickly as you did today like, great vid. Keep em coming!

I’ll probably upgrade eventually, but mine is still going strong for now - plus I have Marks rod too as a back up (pretty much brand new).
Maybe a Christmas present to myself in the future 🤩

Try using a bait stop on your hook length to stop the worms flying up the snood when casting

Just a tip, if I get a hook that’s straightened on a snag, I don’t use pliers to get it back in shape, I throw it away as metal loses it’s strength when you bend it, next time it might break on a fish of a lifetime, my theory anyway.
    Nice video again though

Nice codling for dinner! Do you use Fluorocarbon traces for the hooks? How many times did you have to go up and own the ladder to get all those shots? Well constructed video. Thanks

That's a cracking kelpie codling Danielle, where abouts do you get you bait? Do you dig it yourself or buy it locally?
