I'm glad you found the video my friend! I'm based near MCI and I consider it one of my home airports, so although I fly all over the world to film unique and interesting flights for the channel, I always try to feature anything new at MCI. You know, it's funny. Before I ran this channel full time I was an aircraft rescue firefighter in Joplin, Missouri. And Sun Country would operate charters in and out of there to Laughlin, or Gulf Port. Casino charters, I'm sure you know the ones. Anyway, the City of Joplin had the contract to work those charters, so we'd all come in if it was our day off to work those flights. The guys who were on duty would wait until after the flight landed and then drive the fire truck to the ramp to help haha. So, I've actually worked a bunch of Sun Country flights, but I'd never flown on any until this flight. I have to say, it was a good flight. I connected, and continued on to ORD on N836SY. They were both great flights, and I'm looking forward to featuring Sun Country on the channel more often now that they serve one of my home airports! Anyway, thanks for watching!

i just started the flight and am really enjoying it so far. i really liked the complimentry pair of sunglasses. they looked epic and had attitude all over them which s a very good thing. i love the long video's the best and the longer the better. they are really good videos and i love them alot.thanks for all the wonderful content especially the long videos. so if ur listening youtube we love the long full flights the best. ok back to the video and see u in the skies.
This was my first time flying on them. It was a really nice flight. I was pleasantly surprised, and would definitely fly them again. It's crazy they've been around for so long and so many people really know very little about them.
Thanks my friend. It's too bad they didn't have any inaugural flight festivities. Apparently, because of Memorial Day, they elected to do them tomorrow. So, they'll be celebrating Sun Country's inaugural flight on the third flight haha. We'll always know though... This was the true first flight haha!

Our rainfall here for 2023 is only 2/3 where it should be. We're WAY under budget!! This is not good with a possible large El Nino being formed in the South Pacific. We already have 2 strikes against us here. When you're able to, you should go on the Harbour Air floatplane flights between Vancouver and Victoria. When they find out who you are and what you do, they'll literally treat you like royalty and probably roll out the red carpet for you. The views along the way are fantastic.

Well, you shouldn't see any on takeoff. If you see smoke on takeoff there is something wrong haha. On landing though it because the wheels go from 0mph to 120mph in a fraction of a second. That creates a lot of friction, heat, and energy. Energy that causes the rubber tires to smoke as they are basically skidding on the pavements briefly before they start to spin. An A380 landing, with its 22 wheels is said to lay 30 pounds of rubber down on a runway every time it lands. Think about that because that's really incredible. 30 pounds of rubber left on the runway every time it lands. All those black marks you see on runways rubber from aircraft tires. That's what the smoke comes from.
I use all iPhones. Currently 14 Pros. And I don't use anything else. I just hold the camera by hand. An iPhone 14 would work fine. You just lose that third lens that gives you more options for zooming without using digital zoom.

@@Arslantheplanelover Well yes, I know there are plenty of other airlines that fly to MSP. What I meant was that unless I'm on flying Delta and I have a connection there, I often times don't need to be in Minneapolis haha.
I never say never, but the problem with Frontier is that they often have very badly timed flights. When you fly like me, where you try to fit in 3 or 4 segments on some days, it's very hard to get ultra low cost airline flights to fit into that. Sure they may fly between Kanas City and Denver, but it's at 7:30pm... And besides that just not working at all for me, it's dark. I need light to be able to film. So, I have flown Frontier before. Those flights are on the channel, but it's very rare when a Frontier flight actually works with my schedule.
Well it depends on which airline you’re talking about. Because every airline has different seating layouts and row numbers. So the best view on one might not even have a window on a different airline.
My preferred row on Southwest’s Max 8 is row 8. Either side. It’s directly in front of the engine. It think it provides the best views for filming. The engine does block a lot of the scenery though, so again it depends on what you’re wanting to view outside. If it’s the plane itself, 8 is great. If you’re wanting views of the scenery, a few rows farther forward would be great.
The old MCI had its own charm, for sure. But, I think it was time to move to something new. The old buildings were extremely expensive to operate, and they really weren't a very nice welcoming piece for people visiting or coming into KC for the first time. I am disappointed they aren't saving either of the old terminals. At one point I thought I'd heard that they were going to save one of them to refurbish it into the new airport administration building and other office space, but now it would seem they're going to tear down both remaining buildings. d

It has been awhile since I flew to MSP. I just don't fly Delta very often, and when you don't fly Delta, you don't often end up in MSP haha.

That taxi is quite fast. I’m guessing between 20-30kts ground speed?
I don't know the exact speed, but it was quick. I guess Sun Country is using the Southwest model haha.
