I definitely think he was singing this to his mom--if you just really listen to the lyrics, and picture the hospital room and them "playing chess" as he's told he only has "twelve hours"...it definitely sounds like it's dedicated to his mom-his "lifeline." This song makes me so emotional. Great video!
