Revenge of the Sith w/ CLONE WARS Voices

- Made using audio from Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga, I matched the Clone Wars voices of Anakin (Matt Lanter), Obi Wan (James Arnold Taylor), Padme (Catherine Taber), Yoda (Tom Kane) & Mace Windu (TC Carson) to their corresponding film scenes.

Music in this video from Revenge of the Sith
This just shows how good James Arnold Taylor is as obi wan, syncs up so well
It's honestly hard to tell the difference 😅
That or I am too used to James Arnold Taylor as Obi Wan.
@@Chas-OTE Yeah. James and Ewan's voice almost identical
Ewan McGregor will always be a better Obi-Wan tho.
@@hermos3602 Nah JAT takes the cake.
Yeah he sounds a lot like Ewan's Obi-Wan
I literally can't tell the difference between JAT and Ewan. Incredible
When overlaying his audio over the original it literally sounded near identical sometimes. I thought they just reused one of Ewan’s takes until I listened more closely.
Personally I think Padme and Yoda sound the most like the original
Matt Lanter is absolutely great as Anakin but Hayden is much so much greater
Dude you are everywhere
Mace and palps sound identical to the rots actors
This just makes me appreciate James Arnold Taylors Obi Wan even more
honestly i cant tell the difference between him and Ewan
The best part of JAT is that he's doing a voice of someone who's doing a voice of someone. Layers.
@@BensBrickDesigns JAT also puts some alec guiness in his voice and also his own spin on it, its so good
JAT's Obi-Wan always brings out lots of epic ness!
Original voice is better
I really can't distinguish the voice of James Arnold Taylor here from Ewan McGregor's voice most of the time. So weird, but so cool.
JAT's British accent is slightly off sometimes, other than that it's very hard to tell apart
@@zef9151 yeah he mispronounces sounds with an ‘a’ like chancellor etc. It’s a little jarring for me and reminds me it’s not Ewan
His voice is slightly deeper than Ewan's.
That's odd, it's really obvious to me. You can tell because you can hear the small features in JAT voice coming through.
His accent sounds too posh yet you can hear the Americanisms at the same time. It's a good stab at recreating Ewan's voice for sure, but the more you listen the more you can tell the difference.
Now we just need someone to animate revenge of the sith clone wars style
‘Hello There Animation’ is currently working on one!
@@CinematicCaptures yeah I saw I talked to them before about how got the clone wars style textures but I didn’t save the messages lol
HelloThere is animating the Mustafar battle.
@@CinematicCaptures I wanted to start animating scenes from revenge of the sith in clone wars style I just don’t know how to do textures like clone wars

This is really well synced with the visuals of ROTS! Excellent work. Now imagine if the voice actors/original actors of Obi Wan, Anakin, and the others saw this video.
I think these clips are from Lego Star Wars the Skywalker saga could be wrong but some of the clone wars voice actors are in that game so yea?
@@elliotsturtplus340 it was said in the credits
@@elliotsturtplus340 no, you're right there. The description credits the use of audio from the game.
They would probably smile and go about their day, or be pretty upset.
@@SWDude2710 hah I knew it
To be fair, James Arnold Taylor does a spot on impression of Ewan McGregger’s obi wan, so the similarity of the voice is uncanny!
Facts
It's good, but he gets the pronunciation wrong at times. Like when he says chancellor, for example. He says it with a hard a instead of a soft a
@@potato22258 glad someone else noticed this. Same with words like ‘can’t’
@@potato22258 THANK YOU!!!! That drove me CRAZY in TCW. Like in the episode where Maul kills Satine, Obi-Wan says, "I'm a Fast learner" but he says Fast with an American hard a instead of a soft a. It makes me so mad, because for a community theatre show where we did accents, the first thing we were taught was the "a" sound, and this guy is a professional actor!
He shouldn't try to give his best Ewan McGregor impression. He should do his best Obi-wan impression. Comparing Alec Guiness to Ewan is also unfair.
Imagine what it must have been like for all those amazing voice actors from the Clone Wars to say those infamous lines from Revenge of the Sith?
I like to think these were their audition lines for Clone Wars
@@teddys1359 no, I'm pretty sure these are from Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Obi Wan VA already said them years ago
@@teddys1359 These lines are from Lego star wars the skywalker saga
I have played the whole prequel trilogy yesterday and these are the exact same ones
Must have been really fun and pleasant.
1:13 Matt’s “what have I done” was amazing in Clone Wars.
I agree. He sounded more shocked at what he just did and with how they played it with Hayden saying it.
I had the opposite opinion. I think Hayden really nailed the fragility and desperation of Anakin to come to terms with what just happened. Matt's sounds phoned-in in comparison.
@@jediwheels1781 Are you replying to me or the other guy? He just said that Matt’s take for this line was in the Clone Wars show was amazing and it’s obviously better in that show.
I personally do agree with what you said though.
@@jediwheels1781 To me, I can imagine Anakin looking at his hand as if he has the blood of Mace Windu on his hand with a panicked face when Matt said “what have I done.”
@@Deathpool_04 Hayden sounded tired, Matt in Clone Wars sounded so scared, and Matt here sounds good here.
0:20 The original was kind of memey. THIS actually gave me chills. It's amazing how good character/voice direction can make all the difference in a scene
Probably because the clone wars Anakin actually has that impending darkness in his voice pretty well. When clone wars Anakin gets angry you kind of see Vader while Hayden has the Jedi quality down but not the sith
@@fuoco1365 definitely not true. you have it completely reversed. matt simply can’t land the anger and hatred the way hayden does. especially on mustafar, matt’s delivery falls short compared to hayden’s. im a fan of both tho
@@dabob878 wrong opinion
@@dingkong5034 no such thing
@@dabob878 but...you have it reversed though
Most of the lines hit right with anakin but idk to me it’s just slightly off sometimes in tone and delivery(since it’s two different people obviously), but obi wan matches and hits perfectly 😂😂
Update: This is the most likes I’ve ever gotten, thank y’all.
Matt’s are sometimes off because the Lego Version is sometimes supposed to be funny or Anakin is being more dramatic. Like with “If you’re not with me, then you’re my enemy.”, in the game Anakin is drawing his saber and ready to fight.
Matt’s “You will try to stop me…” in Clone Wars is bone chilling.
@@alexdeghost2729 guess I need to get the game.
@@alexdeghost2729 Plus, Matt’s Anakin voice is not really a mimic of his movie counterpart unlike most of the Clone Wars cast.
@@MichaelJones-dp3ic Funny enough, Hayden now adays sounds like Matt. Especially when you compare today’s Hayden with season 1 Matt.
@@alexdeghost2729 take what we can get, i suppose
Dude James is literally spot on with Ewan. I knew he was good, but I didn't realise he was THIS good... my man.
I’m pretty sure he was brought in at times to dub for Ewan
They just left in the real voices at the end except for Anakin. You are not very smart.
Keep in mind this is their acting for a comedy focussed LEGO Game and yet it still works so well. Imagine how powerful their performance would be if it was the real deal.
Matt Lanter is great and all, but this just confirms Hayden is definitely the GOAT live action Anakin
True
Hayden has way more emotion in his voice
W
Idk I think Matt makes Anakin look like an extrovert more than a calm jedi
I don't think you can say that considering Matt voiced these lines for a Lego game, meaning a lot of his tone is *supposed* to be more non-serious or brutal in Anakins case, for instance it was clear that his I HATE YOU line was meant to be way less emotional and powerful than Haydens so you don't scare the children playing the game
I can only imagine how much fun these guys were having recording these lines
"This is where the fun begins"
0:26 Matt’s “…What?” was surprisingly very fitting and intimidating.
when i heard that i sat here like “😶………”
He's really good to put that much emotion into one word.
@@-hasamastersdegreeinwumbol8565 Hayden’s: W-what do you mean? Huh???
Matt’s: ….what the FUCK did you say?
@@alexdeghost2729 it sounded way more menacing. And for Anakin to say that in that way directly to Mace Windu's face shows guts.
Hayden just sounded like a whiny brat in that scene, but Matt sounds genuinely pissed off.
@@-hasamastersdegreeinwumbol8565 I mean, Anakin IS a whiny brat. He never matured properly and the incompetence of the Jedi order didn’t help much with that.
This just makes me want to see Revenge of the Sith animated in the Clone Wars art style even more...
I would happily pay money at a Theater to see it.
And the Intro to ROTS could start just a little different.
The start point could be from TCW's right after Anakin tells Ahsoka "I've got a surprise for you" in Episode 9. The add-in to the intro would only be 5 minutes, but it would tie into the ROTS intro pretty good IMO.

You can tell side by side playing the movie and this that Obiwan Yoda and Mace's voice's are slightly off (padme too) but its like a slight tone difference, Anakins you can tell is different its a much more mature sort of voice (and i love that in TCW)
Its so good though, i could happily watch the film with those voice actors they do their craft so well.
I had a hard time differenciating Kenobi, but when I heard Anakin’s, I was impressed. I never noticed how high Hayden’s voice is compared to his clone wars counterpart
Dude, Matt Lanter is the PERFECT Anakin. His "What?" at 0:26 is perfect. However, he didn't seem great at delivering the lines near the end when he's Vader, they weren't as intimidating as when he was angry but good Anakin. I'm going to excuse that as they didn't want him to go too scary and evil for the LEGO Game, because I believe he has it in him
Considering some of the scenes he's done in TCW, I have to agree.
that voice crack at 2:01 though
this is perfect perfection, sync is impeccable, mace and yoda sound the same though
Guess that means the Clone Wars actors did a great job
This is really well done, it's very cool hearing the CW actors paired with the Live Action bodies.
I dunno, I prefer Hayden’s voice in ROTS, it’s just such a melodramatic film and his tone just works…like his tone fits the film. Matt Latner is still amazing in the Clone Wars, his voice translates well into that medium but not so much in live action. I could say vice versa for Hayden in that regard, I don’t believe he would’ve been able to do as good a job as Matt did in the CW’s. I think having two voices (well three if we count James Earl Jones haha) was a genius choice whether intentional or not.
James on the other hand is pretty much indistinguishable from Ewan at times, it actually freaks me out a bit because it’s so cool! I think Obi-Wan’s (I say Obi-Wan’s because the continuity between James and Ewan is insane) voice translates well into both mediums. If CW’s had a different VA it probably wouldn’t have worked, if that makes any sense? Like it wouldn’t translate well into live action and would lack that melodrama (and sass) Obi’s voice exudes, which is necessary to match the tone of ROTS.
That’s just my opinion any way :)
It might be because Matt is delivering them in a Lego game rather than trying to be as serious as possible like in the movie. So this might not be how he’d actually deliver them in a serious remake of ROTS. He’s meant to be the light hearted Anakin rather than a darker Anakin that Hayden could pull off. I actually want to see Hayden trying to being the lighthearted Clone Wars Anakin. Hayden’s real voice now sounds more like Matt Lanter’s than what he actually sounded like in the prequels.
I feel Hayden could've worked in the CW. The guy is a phenomenal actor, he just needs the correct voice direction.
@@Xtersin I don’t know about phenomenal, but maybe with a few voice acting lessons there’d be some potential there. We’ll never find out either way hahahah
Fun Fact: in the Clone Wars, General Grevious has the same voice actor from the movie
The clone wars voices are so Danm good in this I love it!
An animation of the Star Wars revenge of the Sith with clone wars graphics ooooh that would good!
You used LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for this didn’t you?
Sure did
Yyyyep
@@CinematicCaptures can you make remastered clone wars 2003
@@MatthewK122Man I would die to see that, and maybe it can have the 2008 The Clone Wars style. 😍
@@CinematicCaptures Then this is clickbait.
Finally seeing Matt voice Hayden’s lines in Revenge of the Sith makes me see the strength in both actors, Hayden was superior in his more serious scenes, but casually Matt nails a far more extroverted and social vibe for Anakin that works better for most of his generic scenes
My thoughts exactly. Any time emotion is involved, Hayden sounds far superior IMO, but causal dialogue Matt's voice fits very well.
For the most part, Matt Lanter's voice matches really well (aside from telling Windu about Palpatine and the "I hate you!").
I feel like the emotion behind it wasn’t as effective as Hayden’s. Hayden had so much emotion behind his lines.
@@Who-Uhm-Cares Lanter puts so much fear and power into his lines though. "You will try" and "You underestimate my power" were said masterfully by Lanter.
@@Who-Uhm-Cares duh these lines were made for a lego game
If you listen to Matt's delivery of "I hate you" during Anakin's vision of the future in the Mortis arc, you can definitely tell he's now improved a lot in hitting some of Anakin's most emotional quotes and tones.
nothing can ever match Haden Christensen's "I HATE YOU" delivery.
Matt version of “I Hate You.” Sounded silly and a little dumb tbh. I love Matt and I don’t think he sucks as Anakin, but he just doesn’t really fit him all the way. Matt Lucas was a better VA for Anakin. He captured Hayden’s voice just like JAT for Obi-Wan. But still, Matt Lanter wasn’t a bad choice as he did study Anakin in the Prequels, he just wanted Anakin to sound different as this time period is different since it’s a War. Plus George Lucas wanted Anakin to be that way during that time period.
@@gaget5455 I think it’s fine. Matt definitely sounds angry enough to sell it, but Hayden sounds like he’s also in unbelievable pain from having his limbs cut off. I generally prefer Matt to Hayden as Anakin, but I think this is one part where Hayden did it better.
@@patrickharris6720 it sounds terrible, dont try and cope your way out of it.
it was amazing how they brought back the Clone Wars voice actors, they did an amazing job reprising the roles and I loved playing through episode 2 and 3 because of it
JAT absolutely nailed the "I have the high ground" part. It's a dream come true for many to hear that
Obi-Wan: **sounds almost the same**
Anakin: **DEEP**
I love Mace Windu’s voice in the Clone Wars, and it fits really well in the Revenge of the Sith scenes.

Man. Hearing them redo some of the lines really just makes me want ROTS in clone wars style. Matt still nails all of Anakin’s lines.
Criminally underrated Chanel
They all sound so natural except for Anakin. Amazing job!
I respect both versions but to me Matt always sounded like he only has one emotion while Hayden displayed such a wide range of emotions and even had the same speech pattern as Vader.
I like both obi-wans, but I prefer Hayden’s performance as anakin
You mixed up Matt and Hayden. Matt makes Hayden’s lines sound like he’s having a voice crack in every line.
@@colegriffiths5971 We both know I didn't. You clearly have a bias, but you still shouldn't hate on Hayden. Just because Matt has a deep voice doesn't mean Hayden's performance wasn't great. Hayden's acting speaks for itself and his performance is underrated if anything. He acted Anakin going through literally every emotion. His mothers death, padmes pregnancy, the mustafar scenes are just a few examples. At the start he is happy, but we can clearly see the confusion he goes through and the sadness and anger that follows.
@@moist_captain I agree. Then again, these are lines from a Lego game, but even at Matt Lanter's acting at top notch... I feel like he's just too one dimensional. Hayden conveys so much emotion.
I see it as the complete opposite. Hayden had more of a monotone voice performance like Vader while Matt’s had a variety of emotions.
The Droid attack on the wookies is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural.
For me this is how it always sounded
Since I watch Star Wars movies and shows in my native language, Anakin is always dubbed by the same voice actor, so I never quite understood why people hated Hayden’s acting so bad, until I heard his actual voice
It's so good that I didnt realize it was a dub until halfway in the video
Matt Lanter gives so much more expression in his voice than Hayden did (I understand it was a failing of Lucas's direction). It matches the lips, but not the physical expression, which is really odd to see.
I knew someone would do this, I had this idea as soon as I started the game and realized all the Clone Wars actors came back for this project, really cool.
Really love how the voice actors did their lines like they were voicing the actual film and not a silly Lego game
Anakin being denied the rank of Master is SO MUCH BETTER LIKE THIS, WHAT?!

@@Deathpool_04 buts Matts Anakins sounded he was pissed off he didnt get the rank of master

321 TRS “Low, slow, kill everything below!”
Matt Lanters tone came off a little silly but thinking of how the scenes are delivered in the game most of the time anakin is acting more silly when he should be acting dark and it makes me think the lego team wanted him to be more silly and less dark because it's a kids game. Otherwise James Arnold Taylor is honestly just as much of Obi Wan Kenobi as Ewan.
I agree but he has his moments and sometimes it just hits different and I love that this video exists.
I love Matt’s delivery of “You underestimate my power”. You can really feel the anger and hatred and his voice
That's exactly why I hate it. The line delivery doesn't match what is about to happen. Anakin in the movie is taunting Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan already knows what Anakin will do and warns him against it. This take sucks, it's too "me evil" and not enough "You better give up, idiot" like the movie. The Battlefront 2 EA for Matt's Anakin, whilst still not as good as Hayden, matches the tone of the scene. He's taunting his enemies in that game. So, if Matt had to be Anakin in this, the Battlefront 2 take is the best one.
@@LegoUnitedGames I get what you’re saying, but when I hear Matt’s delivery, I hear years of being held back boiling over, in a way it’s like he’s telling Obi-Wan “you will not stop me this time”, or “whatever I did, I did to make you proud, and you betrayed me”.
Just my take and why I personally love the delivery. But I get your point
Man hearing Matt Lanter's Anakin slowly turn to the dark side is heart wrenching. I grew up with the clone wars
YO WHY IS THIS SO CRISP!?
This is literally as close as we'll get to RotS in animation form PLUS voices from TCW. Love your work💙💙💙
Despite it being in Lego it was nice to hear the Clone Wars voice cast voice their characters in Revenge of The Sith
OMG this is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I love how everything is so well synced, and this shows how awesome the Clone Wars cast is (especially James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan and Matt Lanter as Anakin)!
omg james arnold taylor's acting is so on point, excellent job
Im glad you left the palpatine voices alone
The difference would’ve been obvious.
Matt Lanter is like Vader's side in Anakin, he's always aggressive hahaha
Vader doesn’t really get that angry to the point where he yells a lot in the movies though.
And this is why Hello There is mining the game for dialogue to use in their clone wars Anakin vs Obi-Wan
Oh god I love this
Damn, let me tell you, this just makes me appreciate more the Hayden version of Anakin's voice
I agree. Matt Lanter is an amazing VA for Anakin but it sounds off here especially in the "I hate you!" scene. Hayden pulls it off with his raw emotion.
I really enjoy the high ground scene this way
I got the Ewan McGregor Expedia ad b4 this video. Makes sense.
If only they had the *“You were my brother Anakin… I loved you,”* line…. then that would’ve made the scene complete. Nonetheless it’s still heartbreaking finally hearing Matt Lanters Anakin deliver the lines of the newly anointed Darth Vader.

Even these great clone wars voice actors can’t fix the hokey dialogue of ROTS…
no actor in the world can make the line "from my point of view the jedi are evil" convincing...

I haven't gotten this far yet, but I've been really enjoying AJ LoCascio's Han. He's just killing it.
I’m not much of a Star Wars fan, but seeing everyone praising James Arnold Taylor’s voice performance puts a smile to my face. And this is coming from a Final Fantasy X/X-2 fan as he is the voice of Tidus in that game. I had the pleasure of meeting him twice. 😄😄
Phenomenal work.
Matt Lanter and Cathrine Taber worked well for the whole thing. JA Taylor didn’t seem to make a difference until Mustifar, when it somehow elevated Ewans Performance. With Yoda I went back and forth between should be or shouldn’t be changed, and I’m still not sure. Palp kinda the same thing, but less noticeable. Windu was fine with Jackson though. Btw this not constructive criticism I’m just building my ideal ROTS movie
Please do one with AOTC. I really need to see Anakin as a likeable character in that movie and I haven’t been able to after watching CW first.
Again, the syncing is amazing. Thank you so much!
The issue with Anakin with ATOC is the script itself. He was given terrible dialogue so much hard to make that work unless you change a majority of what was written. Also, with what Hayden was given I'd say he did a good job.
Matt's "I hate you" was actually really good. I love the voice crack

Top quality as usual, for Anakin I'd prefer his original voice for real time. others could pass
Even Matt Lanter can't make "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!" a good line
2:08 you literally can’t tell
that is factually true
Almost. You can tell a little bit, that accent is heavy and the voice is light. Whereas Ewan's is a stern lighter accent and a heavy voice. But that is dang near spot-on
All their voices sound almost identical I can’t even- imagine if they didn’t cast these voice actors in The Clone Wars…There’s no one else like them. Anakin and Obi-Wan’s voice freak me out cuz it’s just so bloody identical. I used to not recognize Ani’s voice that much whenever I play battlefront 2 but now I see/hear it when you put them here in the movies.
The only line I like better from the original movie is Hayden's "I hate you" other than that though... The Mace windu lines are so much better
I personally disagree. Some of Matt’s lines are great but most of them sound forced and don’t really fit along with the movie. Example being before he fights Kenobi. He actually wants to fight and kill him. In the movie with Hayden, he doesn’t actually want to fight and kill him but thinks he has to just like Kenobi. Another example is Matt’s telling Mace that Palpatine is a Sith Lord. His delivery there for Anakin comes off as him being aggressive from the fact that Palpatine was a Sith Lord when Anakin is supposed to be conflicted in that scene.
@@Master_Chef Yeah, I mentioned it being a Lego game in other comments. I’ll say it again here. Considering it’s a Lego game, a kid’s game, this probably wouldn’t be how Matt would actually deliver his lines in a real and serious take of ROTS.
I like them both too but Matt’s delivery here, doesn’t match up with the movie.
DUDE ALL OF THESE JUST SEEM NORMAL TO ME TOO! this is so weird
When I see videos like this I realise how lucky we are in others countries to have dubing comedians who can follow their characters everywhere, in fact in France every Clone Wars characters kept their original dubber from the films, so we have the voices of our childhood in every Star Wars productions ! 😁
