  • The skeletal system serves as the body's fundamental framework, and the entire body is constructed around the skeleton. It is made up of every bone and tissue connected to joints and cartilage. The skeleton system is made up primarily of the body's solid or nearly rigid parts. With regard to the skeletal system, joints are crucial because they enable various movements at various points. Without joints, the skeleton would not have any indication of the human body's movements.
    Anatomy of Skeletal System
The axial and appendicular systems comprise this skeletal system. The 206 individual bones that make up an adult body are arranged into two major divisions:
    Skeletal system in axial orientation
    Skeletal appendages.
    Skeletal system in axial orientation
The axial skeleton is known as the central core of the human body because it follows the central axis of the body. There are 80 bones in the axial skeleton, which include:
Eight cranial bones, fourteen facial bones, six auditory ossicles, and the hyoid bone make up the skull.
The thoracic cage is made up of 24 ribs and a breastbone, making a total of 25 thoracic bones.
The sacrum, the coccyx, and the twenty-four vertebrae make up the vertebral column.
    Appendicular skeleton
The appendicular skeleton is composed of 126 bones and it comprises of the-
    Pelvic girdle
    Upper Limbs
    Lower Limbs
    Shoulder Girdle or the Pectoral
Moving, supporting, protecting, producing red blood cells, storing minerals, and controlling hormones are among the main roles of the skeletal system.
    Provide assistance
Providing a strong framework to support and protect the human body and its organs is the skeletal system's primary purpose. The overall form of the human body is preserved as a result.

    Defence
Through its protective role as a buffer, the skeletal system also aids in the preservation of other vulnerable bodily organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, and spinal cord. The ribs guard the heart and lungs, the vertebrae (spine, backbones) the spinal cord, and the cranium (skull) the brain and eyes.
    Change in Motion
For muscles to attach to, bones provide the necessary framework.
