Nithya menon is such a underappreciated actress. She is so good in most of the roles she does. One of the most amazing things about her is that even though she's a malayali she can speak most of the languages from India whether it can be malayalam, tamil, Telugu, Telugu, tamil,Marathi and it feels so authentic.

Heard Dhanush saying he would have dropped this project if Nithya didn't played that character. Also There is a reason why Bharathiraja and Prakashraj addressed Nithya as 'abhinya rakshashi' and she proved why in Thiruchitrambalam. None would have played Shobana with the ease she played it..❤️

I don't think Raashi's subplot was about criticising modern thinking. If anything, it was a (very badly executed) attempt at showcasing classism, which is a thing that people in Chennai deal with quite a lot. Palam isn't condescending, he just doesn't understand that sort of thinking. I felt the movie actually sided with Raashi's character in that situation.

I think raashi Khanna was not demonized instead there was a clear communication where she says flirting necessarily is not necessarily love and also the scene where her friends chide pazham she gets angry as well as realises it was wrong to tip him in the initial scene the director was only suggesting that it is okay to get rejected and still not get angry on the woman by stalking her or abusing her. I believe they were portrayed very well.

i really liked this movie; a very different 'rom com' experience than what i am used to. i notice that the film making style in India tends holds on to an emotional beats a little longer than what film makers do in the US. the woman who was Shobana *muah* we don't deserve you. every freakin scene she was in just lit up the screen. when are you gonna do a film in hollywood? listening to your opening comments, it sounds like you have the same problem in your country as I do in mine. little fed up with the mouse here. i think Dhanush is gathering a larger western audience (thanks Russo Brothers) i, for one, went to see this movie because how can you not love a dude who can kick the crap out of Ana De Arnas and Ryan Reynolds in one movie and melt my heart in another? I hope our hollywood indie movie directors are keeping their gaze on the Sexy Tamil friend.

Shyama Singha Roy was released in theaters at a crucial time in theaters when Omicron Variant was on rise, Nani's controversial comments on ticket prices which irked govt that led to closure of theaters. Still the movie went on to become hit.

Was waiting for a long time to see this film and finally watched it on Prime and boy am I mind-blown or what. Effortless performances by almost the entire cast, crackling chemistry between Dhanush & Nithya (both of whom are in supreme form), well-written characters of key supporting cast members such as Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja and of-course Anirudh's music which is soft, soothing and melancholic unlike the pulsating and high-octane stuff that one normally associates his work with. Thiruchitrambalam is easily one of the best films I've seen in a long time.
