I bought this car in Switzerland for 45k CHF. I love it! ❤ Unfortunately I had to wait 1.5 years for it to arrive. But it’s worth it given the price quality. Low tax and consumption too.
Bought a pre reg 23 plate Advance in sonic grey with 6 miles on the clock five weeks ago. Done 1700 miles so far, averaging 54mpg overall with mixed driving. It's a fantastic car but agree that the fact the brake hold has to be applied every time is a right pain. Also not being able to permanently switch off the road deviation is a real nuisance. Great video which covers how good the car is.
@@markdillon9588 yes, brake hold has to be applied after every time the ignition is switched on and off. A right pain in the butt. Also lane deviation has to be switched off every single time unlike some manufacturers where you can permanently switch it off until you want it back on.
Looks a great car, but not impressed that Honda have increased the price above 40k, so even though you have a Hybrid with a low CO2, You pay a fortune for the car tax for 5 years !!! I feel this is a mistake.
Great review, definitely considering Civic in advanced trim, also looking at the Acura Integra ASpec w technology. To me it’s the fun factor and both these vehicles do a good job.
If only Honda were delivering any in the UK! Mine's been on order since 4 Jan 2023 and the dealer still has no idea when it will be built or shipped 😞. Still, the test drive was fantastic so I'll wait a little longer........
Super car, but Honda is doing very bad things in Europe with its import restrictions and future price increases on this model, when it could have been a huge success on the European continent. I was planning to buy this car, but I probably won't wait until 2025 for that (I'm in Switzerland) and at a too high price.
Almost all reviewers gave the Civic Hybrid an 8/10 except for one knob named Liam Shard who gave it a 6/10. Do a search for 'Liam Shard Honda Civic' to read his article (if you want to).
Thnx for the review :top: As a side note - sport mode could not turn off EV in this type of hybrid setup even in theory, as it has no direct power transfer from the engine and no gears (CVT is a misnomer here, it is just electric). Though there is an exception at the most effective engine load in coasting seeds (6. gear analogue) where the engine engages directly, but overall it's drivetrain is better looked at as an electric car with a petrol generator, so whatever tweaks driving modes do they will never disengage electric.
Due to the recent price increase the Advance in any colour but grey will be over £40k and now attract the luxury car tax - I'm not quite sure what Honda are thinking in doing that
Agree re autohold. Also the Android Auto is useless. It disconnects all the time which is very poor. I would also like the steering wheel to mo e closer to the driver as I have long legs! Otherwise it is a fantastic car.
I drive a Mercedes A250 now (costs me just under £290/month)…this car costs b/w £400-500/month!!!😮 How is that possible…it’s nowhere near as powerful too…makes no sense!
I'm afraid this is going to be as expensive as the Honda Accord. The best value was the Honda Insight and afraid THIS IS NOT going to replace it but be just as expensive as the Honda Accord if not more :(
Saw this in a showroom, like the modern interior, just wish they would add some ambient feature lighting, especially at that price point.
👍
My ‘73 Advance has full ambient lighting including door tread plates and puddle lights but it was a £1,500 dealer fit option…

It has to be applied?

I wish this had been available in the US on the 2023 model! I would've loved to buy one, but couldn't wait until 2024 when it is expected here.

That's a shame Mark, hopefully it comes soon! It's such a great car.
Where are they built now days? Swindon plant?
Japan I believe. The Swindon plant is no longer used.

This one's looking good..
I've not come across any bad reviews yet for this new civic

£32950 when I bought my Advance in November last year! Almost £7k price hike in less than 9 months….. lovely car but really?
Great channel name mate. Great car but can't afford it

Yet another good road test. It seems most drivers cannot drive with both hands on the steering wheel and have to look at the camera too much!
Thanks for the feedback!
Is this car better to drive that the Golf GTI or Golf R?

So how is this 'a lot larger' than the outgoing model when it has almost identical dimensions and is basically the same chassis underneath? 🤔
As somebody who owns the new one and traded in the old one I did wonder if he ever had driven the Gen 10
Thanks for spotting this error! It happens sometimes when making videos :)
What year is it!! 2023 or 2024?! 2024 is much nicer.
2023, it might be referred as a 2024 model in the US.
Can you turn the fake sounds off?
This is a deal breaker for me, can't stand fake engine sounds
Thanks for watching. I couldn't find a way to turn the sounds off, but I kinda liked them. Appreciate it isn't for everyone, however.
You can't but disconnecting the speaker is fairly easy. With that said, I hate fake engine sounds as well but I kinda liked them in the civic
@@MadDoc1231I think it’s required for regulatory reasons.
If you turn up your music does it cover the fake sounds? Picking my year old sport next week. Excited! Upgrading from an 18 plate sport plus! 😊
I’ve got one and the sound only comes on in sports mode. Which I actually don’t really use. Unless the different trims aren’t the same
