    My father showed me the improved clinch knot when I was 8 years old. I have never tied a uni knot or palomar or any other kind. I have caught an 80 lb. amberjack with it. Supposedly the uni knot and others are stronger, but old habits are hard to break. I have seen you use them for tuna and I got hollered at by a mate on a tuna trip last year for using it, but I think the improved clinch knot is underrated.

      I literally tie maybe 5-6 knots. Improved clinch is prolly tied for first

      thanks so much for watching! I see all these poor spring bass getting mistreated, disrespected, and dying for no reason. It's sad.

    Nice Sopranos reference! "" Johnny Sac""! Sacramono. You can see the reflection of the bottom where you are at. Big flats there. Even though it's muddy. Plus it's low tide. Great video! Now? They're all over the shore and out in front of the beaches. Enjoy! Safe travels and God bless!

    Wish a few from the Hudson River would stop netting , picture of every fish then think the fish are just fine . Fantastic video of the correct way to handle pre spawn fish !!

    The price of bloodworms is brutal but when the jumbos come in the way they have been it makes it much easier to sell. I love that you can go from a small little 16' boat up to your big boat and everything in between and you still have the same excitement in your voice. Keep up the great work and I only hope that you can when day do it full time! :)

    Despite what the fish "scientists" continue to push.... the fishery is healthy. Glad to see you on the brackish water getting back to your roots.
    If you find yourself on the "nevermoor" on Baltic again, stop and say hi.

    Something we do with the blood bags. We go to a famous footwear or footlocker and grab the disposable socks basically mini stockings they’re perfect size for blood works and you only have to tie them once and cut the excess. They usually just let you grab as many as you want if you ask.

    Why are you using a 9’ from a boat? Especially for dropping bait

    • @reaperfishingnj8623
      @reaperfishingnj8623  5 місяців тому +1

      i like that I can cast very far with them if i need to spread baits out a bit more. The added length i feel helps me pull less hooks. The backbone and 5000-6500 series reels lets me put a lot of pressure on these fish so i can get them to the boat without exhausting them

    • @rnmlsrsr8609
      @rnmlsrsr8609 5 місяців тому

      @@reaperfishingnj8623 gotcha. If you’re using a long mono leader before your swivel, you should be fine tho. That stretch should give the circle hook as much time as it needs to work.
      Also, if your hook has an octopus eye, (aka up-eye) they should always be snelled. You’ll increase your hookup ratio that way
