One of my favorite guitar vids of all time. I forget about this for a while, but keep coming back and rediscovering it. I would buy a whole record of this without hesitation.
Just stumbled on this guitar, didn't know it exists. I already loved offsets and those old Mostrites and in the last year I got into so semi hollow bodies. This looks so sick with just the one cutaway. Looks sleek too, I love my AM 53 because it's skinny as hell. Holy canoli. I think I gotta get it, right? That's why god gave us credit cards....
The lipstick humbucker actually rips pretty good when you give it some fuzz. Like maniac, out of control sometimes. The P90 clone in the bridge has a really nice Punk sound to it if you add some fuzz or pull back a little bit to do some garage rock. I would not do metal. I would do something heavy and melodic, like Deftones. Then grunge, alternative, shoegaze, whatever else you want to lump into that fuzzy bucket. This thing is really jangly and lose, fun to play. The neck is very flat, 14" radius, so be aware. I am still getting used to it. But the sounds you get, worth it to try and adjust the technique if you are used to more of a curve while chording. I have a larger semi-hollow (AM53) I have setup with thick strings for the really rich heavier stuff. Almost like a Jazz setup but I run it through fuzz boxes and reverb. I am using this one for Clean tones mostly and some delay and phaser, effects stuff and it is sooooooo versatile. I would absolutely snag one of these from the 2010s without the tremelo (unless you like it! I do not). The sunburst model I have looks amazing and I found it for $500. I would suggest anyone reading this in 2024 or the near future to try and find one at that price before they increase. The other colors are already around $1,000. This guitar RIPS!
after 2 weeks of shipping to guitar center I finally got my transparent red 66.....And the factory only crowned THE FIRST THREE FRETS! luckily GC returned it and sent me a new one that hopefully wont take 2 weeks to get here. They warned me the quality control in the korean shops Danelectro uses are total crack so it's possible this next one could also have something else entirly wrong. Fingers crossed because I love this brand
You know, GC, or a real guitar luthier could've crowned the rest of those frets for you. I'm just saying it seems a little extreme to me to send a guitar back because most of the frets were not properly crowned. And I've heard the exact opposite from numerous reputable guitarists about getting their new Danelectro, so don't necessarily buy what a GC rep told you.
This is the kin of guitar review I want to see. You just shut up and let the guitar play. What we need to know is the guitar's full potential, and this guys is the real deal.
Neck : maple Body : Alder I don't know for the soundboard. Not precised in in the technical notice I've seen, and I've never touch this guitar. I search...
Nothing on the Danelectro website for the soundboard (and nothing about the woods in general) Doesn't seem to maple. Maybe alder like the body. That's what I think but I'm not sure.

Alright , I'm sold. I'm definitely buying this baby!
Fantastic picking and tones!
Sounds so sweet.
Probably the best guitar demo I have seen & heard. I want one of these!
This guy could play a rusty fence and you would wanna buy it.

Ive been searching hollow bodies for weeks now. This video has made me decide.
Lovely guitar beautifully played..
Those pickups sound really good. Allmost like the Original. And totally convincable.
Clam at 00:50 - glad I'm not the only one that starts in the wrong box. Love RJ, love Dano's.
Its a great guitar.

RJ is my boy
Go tigers.
I have one of these, and I love it, but I can't for anything find the fretboard radius listed anywhere. Is it 14" like most Danelectros?
Why don't you call the company and ask. Probably get a better answer than youtube comment sections.
What kind of wood?
Neck : maple
Body : Alder
I don't know for the soundboard. Not precised in in the technical notice I've seen, and I've never touch this guitar. I search...
Fretboard : Dalbergia Latifolia (kind of rosewood)

Korean
i just bought one, will shipping to China, i think its may be the first one in China.
Uh, where do you think it was made...?
ChronicTown I think it's from Korea
ChronicTown It's made in Korea, smart Alec.
@@Chronic_Town If you're gonna be racist, at least do your research..
@@lesfaul4924 And if you're gonna attempt sarcastic responses, at least do it within less than a year (and also clarify the absurd racist accusation).
Can you play punk, metal, modern rock on it ? Or is the sound mostly meant for just 60s music?
You could but I think the guitar would sound optimal for blues rock, jazz, classic rock, etc.
Might sound interesting
Might sound interesting
Punk for sure, this is a Mosrite clone and Johnny Ramone played a Mosrite
is the Single a p90 or some variation. Are all the single's the same or some real P90s ?
The zero fret really helps the guitar stay in tune.
Been better to talk about the features rather than just sit and play.
Yea who would want to hear how it sounds. It's not like the features are listed on their website or anything.
