Thanks so much for posting this! I replaced the window regulator on the front left side with ease, with tremendous help from your video!! Saved me over $200!!!
I have a 2017 Sportage I had to reclip the connection to the door latch but in doing so the cables that go into the regulator gear came out and I am having a hard time getting the cables respooled into the regulator gear! Any advice? I've already watched your video when you did the same repair on the optima but have had no luck yet!
Hi, thank you so much for posting. Can you point out where you drilled to keep the window? I am giving up replacing the regulators. I am up to all four windows going out
@@PowerUpAuto thanks so much for the reply. The bracket you’re referring to is where the two bolts hold the window around 3:08? And you just drill through and that locks it?
@@PhitenJ Correct. Make sure you are below the glass and just under that bracket. You can drill thru the panel since you get a new panel with a new regulator if you want to go that way. You can leave the drill bit in place or remove it and put in a screw.
I have a 2017 Kia Sportage FE. Took everything off including the latch and handle but can't disengage the door cables to get the regulator off. Does anybody have a video or some insight how to disengage the cables. Also, thanks for the video. Wish I could see what you did for this.
Are you working on replacing the gear insdie the regulator? If yes does not matter. As long as the cables DO NOT cross over each other you should be great.
Did anyone else have trouble aligning the new regulator new regulator? The top middle portion is always bowing out a lot Edit: installed and works great on the way down, but still slightly sluggish on the way up. Does anyone know why this might be? Also, some of the teeth on the motor gear are worn. Can that be replaced?
Two side windows of my 2017 Kia 😂Sportage failed. Both passenger side. Told it was failed motor. I’m the only driver and seldom if ever used the back window. Just months past my warranty. Slightly over $800 it will cost!
More likely the gear inside the window regulator. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/Xehfg6-ezog/v-deo.html or this one ua-cam.com/video/B2QMAzUlp2s/v-deo.html
my front two have gone out at different times and the last time I used my back two it sounded like something fell down inside the door so Im scared to use those again lol
I couldn’t have fixed my wife’s car w/o this video. You’ve saved us a lot of money thank you so much!

Was there anything different about the front left side?
Thank you so much. It's a hell of a job for someone who has never done something like this, but you got me through. Thanks again!!!
great job just gotta pay close attention when u get out of camera view. Visual learners need to see close ups of thgose bolt detachments

put the glass up and you can drill just under where the bracket that holds the glass is. That should work.

@@PowerUpAuto thanks for the clarification. Great videos. Have a merry Christmas
I have a 2017 and the passenger side window won't go back up but you can hear the motor still working. Any advice?

Does the new regulator have a better quality nylon gear? Or is it a matter of time before you gotta do it again?
No, aftermarket parts. Sorry
How long should this take to complete on average?
45-60 minutes
Be nice to know what way the cable goes on the pulleys
