this is not me its wikipedia which has quite a lot more on the train - elegant looking machine ///// wiki excerpt //// 44871 was purchased directly from British Rail service for preservation, and so never had to be restored from scrapyard condition unlike other preserved locomotives which were sent to Barry Island. The majority of the Class 5 s were purchased directly for preservation, with only six being purchased from Barry Island and thus requiring restoration to run again.
Excellent again Henry. I appreciate your knowledgeable sub titles as well. I was on the similar charter last November. Two Black 5's on separate charters to York on that day, as I'm sure you'll remember.
Looks fantastic.
Thank you for watching!
Great video nice captures
Thank you very much!
Nice video too of the Black 5, I can't believe the fire brigade were called, whoops hehe.
Thank you for watching! Yes, someone mistook the steam for smoke and panicked!

44871 is a locomotive not a train. The train is the loco and the carriages. But yes, the above info for 44871 is correct.

Thabk you!
Great video mate,
Thank you!
Great video. I see there were Steampunks at York, I'm one myself but was not there!
Thank you! Yes, it was nice to see them there with the steam loco!
I wonder how long 44871 will have her number box blue for locos who’s shedcode was in scotland
Probably all year as soon she'll be going up to Fort William for working The Jacobite!
Can someone tell me what goes on in the support coach that always seems to be part of a steam loco these days?
It houses tools for working on the loco, crew mess room and accommodation ect.
Thanks, I wondered if there was owners accommodation for the privately owned engines.
Nice one Henry
Thank you!
