Great video Phil! Good to see Beeston Castle, that's somewhere I've always wanted to visit. The Northgate Arena brought back memories. When I was about 15 the church youth club used to take us on a trip to Chester, we stayed at a church in Hoole and visited the Northgate Arena to use the showers. I think I was the only one who knew it was on the site of an old railway station!
Thanks Henry, great views from the top of Beeston castle, well worth the climb up. Haha, when ever I'm at Northgate arena, I can't help thinking what train might have been in the station on the exact same spot.
Thanks Steve. Yes, that was a great shot from Harry, not being close,he followed the train well . Beeston is only half an hour from me, as is Chester 👍😀
Hi Phil this line runs at the back of my house at a place called Aston Juxta Mondrum with its old station now a house and I watched this steamer pass I didn’t have my camera as I didn’t know it was coming until it appeared
Fantastic footage Phil, very enjoyable viewing. I had a great day chasing this tour around, I saw the outbound journey at Crewe and Chester, and then saw the return back at Crewe. 44871 was in fine form. I definitely see what you mean about the big rush at Chester - when I was there, a few people got a right telling off from the station staff because they walked off the end of the platform onto the ballast to get a photo, not often you see stupid behaviour like that for anything but the Flying Scotsman?
Thanks. Glad you had a great day seeing it . Yes, some people have no sense!! I saw a few idiots going down the ramp. Certainly kept the station staff busy
