When I did the hot water method guess my hands were a little weak, was sp busy. Well not long ago mentioned this to my husband. He used his chattel which is like a wrench. OMG, what can I say. I love my Mr. Clean the green one. So far during my search hacks, think yours was the one that came up first. This worked like a charm for us. Thaks so much.

I like the Swiffer solution but I’m on a fixed income & can’t afford to keep buying solution & batteries & pads 🔋.. so I try your solution & asked for batteries for Bday or Christmas thank you for helping me to keep my swiffer ! 11/22/22💐

Next time ask for the rechargeable ones(they have them at the $store)and the little charger to go with .it will last longer😜and you can replace the pads with a microfiber(again dollar store) that you wash 👍

Buy reusable pads you can wash in the laundry. I do. I am on fixed income too.

Thanks. I just got my Swiffer today, and that fragrance in the cleaner is giving me an asthma attack.

Thanks! I’ll try this. And then I think I will file down the plastic nubs inside the cap so it’s easier to take off next time.

Another hack instead of a wrench is boil hot water. Place the top in the boiling for 90 seconds grab a towel so you don’t burn yourself twist the top off you will have to do this each time because it reseals itself. Hope that helps

After getting the top off, clip the little “teeth” off with nail clippers so it just screws off every time

Dip it in really hot water for a few and it will unscrew and then put your own choice of cleaner and water and put that cap back on twist it and it will reseal and be able to use it

As an alternative, you could just use a spray bottle to wet the floor. Not as convenient as having it sprayed from the mop itself, but it works.

That's not pliers.... That's a Leatherman. Or a knock off brand of Leatherman.
When he called it a multi-tool that was correct

WHY pour out perfectly good cleaner? Step 1 waste the money you just spent. Step 2 grab a "wrench"
