we need gain staging to really hear the difference
When the input signal was boosted, and the output was left as is, I stopped watching this video.
Mitch is one of the good ones.
I put this or the Studer A-800 on the master of every mix. I really like the tape sound, lol.
Thanks for your excellent review ;-)
Got this from Sweetwater in the UAD Essentials bundle. I use it in Reaper and love the sound of it. It uses 0.09% CPU per instance on my 3700X, with or without the tape animation.
Seven and a half inches per second 💪
Use this on individual tracks? It eats 15% Dsp per instance.
is that as a UAD plugin for a UAD device? I am curious what the CPU load would be on these plugins but have nothing to go on.
@@sappyse107 its as native also, I just looked at the charts, Uad plugins are the heaviest on cpu of them all.
If you have a 2017 mac, or older PC with next to no ram, this will be an issue, I'm using an M1 pro, so the plugin is not cpu hungry. Using it on individual tracks is a choice, emulating tracking to multi trk tape. It rule that has to be followed. The alternative is to bus things out to groups, thus cutting down on individual elements and still maintaining that tracking vibe.
15 % dsp load is not bad at all for such an effect. On my two satellite octos I can easily have it on every track and it makes a big difference to a mix. It also sounds great with instances of The Ampex ATR-102 on the groups and mix bus.
@@irrationallynegative spending thousand $/£ to use a £74 plugin makes no sense to me. I use native.
At 0:15 he's looking at the wrong camera.
they do this so it dont look like he messed up.... best guess is he messed up the sentence and then carried on looking at the camera but instead of it cutting to the same camera they cut to the other one so it still looks flued and not obvious
@@Loopyllu365 No they did it to look interesting and slick and professional.
