  • Refreshing the water and changing out the container is very important to keep the frogs healthy and alive.
This was my first batch of eggs. The tadpoles are 17 days old in this video and eating well at this point.
    1) Water quality. I have a reverse osmosis water filter on the counter.
    2) I mix very little of the water from the adult frog tank into the tadpole bowl.
    3) The water is room temperature, between 72-28 degrees, to match the current water temperature.
    4) I prefer glass bowls. They are easier to clean, don't leach plastic, and smooth surface doesn't have much stick to it.
    5) Change out water every day!
    6) Change out bowl every 1-2 days.
    7) Add small bit of live plant to provide oxygen, one that won't die. Remove any decaying plants as that will change pH quickly.
    8) Pour water out slowly to skim off the top half of water that has dust, oil etc.
    9) Use small siphon to suck up particles on bottom of bowl, of old food, any dead tadpoles (they get fuzzy).
    10) Don't use chemicals when cleaning. Wipe out slime with paper towel. Only if necessary can use very mild soap, or diluted vinegar but must rinse out well.
    11) Feed baby brine shrimp.
    12) Good luck!
