thank you so much! i made this whip and have nicknamed it the "lightning rod" because it literally makes your ears ring when you crack it! wonderful tutorial.
This is pretty cool! I made Adam Winrich's instant bullwhip so I recognize a lot of the same concept here, but good thinking! I like the use of paracord instead of the twisted nylon rope Adam used. Good work!
This looks so great for peeps on a really tight budget - like me haha. Would it still work if you just staggered the paracord so that it didn't need cutting thus saving money and time? I imagine I would need to subtract some inches in order to get the desired length whip.
@@caliberwhips9595 ; RIGHT? Glad to see there's still others who remember the old you... Deal could be a good way to go; but your gonna get so much more life experience the route you've gone. Ok ; I'm out LATE Scott Outta Wa.
I did it! I made one and it works! Is it perfect? No, but it works. I especially struggled with the first knot in the 14ft cord (your hands were a obstructing the knot a bit when making it), attaching the ballchain (it didnt stick to my tape) and wrapping the tape (tape wasn't colaborating). After trying it a few times I do notice that the tape breaks at certain points but you can just reinforce that with more tape!
Amazingggggg....a electric tape bull whip...wow..totally amazing. I wonder tho how long would it last cracking everyday.?????? One month??? Two months??? I wonder...buttttt,,,it actually works..I can't wait to build one.
I literally ran out and got the supplies the same day I saw this. Mine turned out pretty good (although it took a lot longer than 30 mins) 😂 I only cracked it for like 15 mins though before I noticed the electrical tape was already starting to break apart towards the end of the whip. Should I wrap it more?? I did two layers. Maybe three. I can’t remember.
Great video, I'm going to give it a go but I have a question first, have you tried this technique with silicone tape? its more flexible than electrical tape and it's got a bit of stretch in it too, and is stronger.. it's a fair bit more expensive of course but I'm wondering if it wouldn't make an even better whip and maybe last longer.
Thanks for the video! I am going to try and modify your process a bit to try and come up with a 60" or so baby snake/signal whip to test a usage for the whip. If it works I may invest in a more expensive/permanent whip, but I want to prove my idea before investing in something more expensive. I need something I can pocket easily and still get a good loud crack out of. Any advice for me? I'd appreciate it.
If i want to make a longer bull whip, would it be better to add that new length? or make each of these longer? i.e do i say add a 16' and an 18' paracod? or do i make the 14 ->18 the 12 ->16 etc, so the shortest would be 6' vs 2' ?
If I want to make a 14 foot whip would I simply just need to double the lengths of cordage you mentioned or would the strands of cordage still need to whittle all the way down to 2ft?
Hi! Could you please research a mystery object known as a roman dodecahedron, and see if you think it might have been useful for constructing leather whips - thank you!
Instead of cutting the ends 6 inches for each pair you could make them offset by that much when securing them in the first place, that would be easier and faster and would lead to you not having a bunch of 6 inch trash pieces.
Update: i now have 2 6ft whips because i measured for that. I can do multiple cracks and my whips just need more tape from time to time (obviously new crackers and falls). Thankyou so much!
