Synthesizer Demo of the analog synthesizer/string machine FARFISA SOUNDMAKER. I played the Soundmaker with a Roland DC-30 analog delay.
The Soundmaker was introduced 1979 by Farfisa, Italy. It looks a bit like a Synclavier :-)
It has a string section, a "poli" section and a monophonic synthesizer section. The strings sound like those from the Polychrome. The keyboard has aftertouch. Also it is possible to run the polyphonic section through the filter of the monophonic section - like heard in the intro music. It's great that it's possible to slightly detune the solo section against the strings. There were no external phaser or other effects used, except the Roland DC-30 analog delay. - Наука та технологія
I love this sound... Feels like an Eminent 310 crossed with an ARP Solina. Beautiful and haunting...
Spirit of seventies speaks through your fingers. We can hear it when you lean them on synths.
This could be a legit Klaus Schulze track... awesome!
The first sound is Epic !!!
Lovely playing. I almost feel asleep. sooo smooth
Fantastic demo-gorgeous sounds!Thanks.
I keep coming back to this video, so good
Very special sounding synthesizer !
No words, this was magical
New synths all sound the same -years ago you could recognise the synth by its unique sound !!
You played that beautifully. Especially the first sound after the intro. Almost makes me have to buy one right now.
Sounds gorgeous!
Incredible... The kinda voice tone is sublime and the strings are so lush...
Why does this beauties only belongs to past? I can't believe that people prefer hear some plastic sounding reface or boutique things... Why don't we produce things like this anymore?
+drumn incolor Well, Waldorf produces "Streichfett" it follows this instrument concept.
+AnalogAudio1 yeah, but this one sounds a ton better.
+David yes, that's true. But better than nothing...
I wanna say the cost of parts and labor. Alot of circuitry is involved in these vintage synths. I'm actually trying to build an analog synth of my own based on the same circuitry as the older models like Logan String Melody, RS 202, Omni, and so on. And I've got to say, Ive spent a pretty penny on parts any many hours on wiring, and soldering components. So it seems like companys wanna keep the cost cheap to build the shitty digital garbage they have today.
@drumn incolor I agree with you. Even the new analogue VCO synths don't capture the same energy of the classic synths. I've recently found a new appreciation for these classic synths as the sounds they produce are the sounds I grew up hearing in television and movie scores as well as pop and underground music
Beautiful, Dreamy and gentle Atmosphere sound :-)
I need to have one of these !!! I wish companies would we make them all synths today sound so mechanical
Sounds like Eminent string ensemble. Beautiful vintage sound!
Love those old Farsies 🥰
As an afghoholic, I prefer daries over farsies... or, of course, fully polyphonic pashtoonizers!
What a space machine!
Great sounds! I love your playing. This thing needs to be emulated.
thanks! It can't be emulated I guess
Wunderschönes Instrument mit einem Sound den man bei heutigen Synths vergeblich sucht.Tolles Demovideo.
Wünsche dir noch einen guten Rutsch :)
yes.verry nice. sold my 15 years ago. cool video as every time. thanks.
Farfisa ... one of the best brands! its analog organs were also great!
If I had the space for a third organ, I would go for a Farfisa Pergamon... but instead, I have to "content myself" with my two huge Technicses (G5 and U90)!
I love this instrument...
Very cool keyboard and demo! :-)
Get in there my san!
yes, it is! The string sound alone is better on the Solina String-Ensemble. But the Soundmaker is rather a multikeyboard with more possibilities... Like on the Farfisa Polychrome, the best things are layers of sounds.
I own one of these. The string sounds are fantastic.
very nice synths. his MIIAUUHhing is so nice, so fluffy, so nostalgic and warm
Bring back the good old days, bring back Ensemble Keyboards! Too many button-pushes needed to get these sounds on modern synths. (I love Kronos, Viscount OB-12 , but if all you want is great string - brass - choir ) ...
+MoogKorgfan Yes, it's bizarre that, still, not a single company's making them - all the other analog classic styles now covered, and plenty of demand there as can be seen from the inflatable prices on all seller sites,.
yes i have a kronos but would much prefer one one these vintage string machines.
behringer wants to know your location......
Best Sound!!!
Big brother of the syntorchestra!!!!!!! Lovely strings sound!!!!!!!
+Giron I would say the big brother of Syntorchestra 4 - not of the orignal Syntorchestra.
So freaking good.
Amazing 👏
Excellent son ! ! !
amazing sound 🤩👍💖💓😍💗💕💖👍🤩✌
Amazing...
Mate you play that synth perfect 100 per cent
thanks :-) you can tell that I like it
thats sure so good :)
Very nice
superb
Wonderful synth !! I own one of them, and listening to that lush sound coming out from loudspeakers is ever time such a big emotion!
PaoloJSB are you willing to sell it lol ? I’ll buy it
Great !!
It sings!!
at the position at 7:47 looks like one of the keys played by *Jonzun Crew* on "Pac Jam" performance for Formel Eins german tv show (1983). There is showed Minimoog and Korg PS900 also
Farfisa made some good string machines, didn't they?
What a sweet, beautiful synth/strings ensemble. Much better than an ARP Omni!
I have an omni to fix. looks dead. So the sounmaker sounds better to
the omni?
1970's Tangerine Dream,all the way.Thanks.
My first thought the second he started playing the thing,- hadn´t even seen your comment yet.
Sehr gute Demo, vielen Dank!
perfect for late 70's softporn music !
Farfisa einst eine der besten Orgelhersteller Italiens . Schade das 1984 Schluss war und bontempi den Laden übernommen hat. Farfisa Ancona Werk
strings remind me of the theme tune to Watoo Watoo , especially near the end of that theme.
cool
Hello! Your sounds are absolutely fantastic, especially the voice tone. Can you give the sliders and switches position for the voice tone? I can't see them on the video. thank you!
It's a simple machine, I think everyone can figure it out by spending a little time with it. I don't know the settings anymore
I am certain Richard Wright would have loved this synth.
IN 0.30 seconde the sound is like a voice of Girl ...Ingenious technology
Reminds me of Klaus Schulze
Space sounds
Does anyone happen to know how the 'poly & strings in mono' mode work? it sounds like it might send the poly and string circuit into the mono's vcf and vca but all I get is the adsr triggering and white noise going through the vcf and vca.
Anyone know of a Farfisa Soundmaker for sale? Wonderful sounds - Amazing !
Sounds a lot nicer than I remembered. Not as nice as a Synthorchestra but close.
Do you know any other synth that can do those Theremin-like sounds you can hear at 0:20?
@s00per Farfisa Syntorchestra for sure (but super rare like the Soundmaker unforunately). I've come close to that 'Theremin/female voice' sound using a Yamaha SK-30's mono section as well.
Good old polychrome sound)
yes, the string sound is identical, but on the polychrome you have more options
All this album by Phaserman is principaly with a real farfisa polychrome
you call this an "album"? This sounds like horrible stuff played by an absolute beginner with zero talent. Best example for the fact, that owning a good synthesizer will not necessarily turn you into a good artist
@Synthesizer Home Who are you to tell what an album or music should be? F*cking idiot!
this reminds me the synclavier
not quite... that silver knob is much bigger on the Synclavier :-D
Me want one so bad it hurts!!! :)
String sound is extremely good, similar or even better than ARP solina, mono synth section sounds a bit poor.
😍❤❤❤❤❤😍
Höre ich da etwas Wahnfried 1883 am Anfang? :D
kann sein, der Klaus hat mich auch ein wenig geprägt ;-)
That songs you played in that synthesizer sounded alot like the ones Jean Michele Jarre made back in the 70's, like his very first album "Oxygene"
Yeah, that is what I like :-)
The first two minutes remind me of Joel Fayerman's synth music...
Есть эти видео в более лучшем качестве?
Totally BOSS X100 :p
Wow. has anyone got one for sale?. I'll have a crane and a lowloder ready just in case. Never knew this existed until now. I love it, reminds me a bit like a JP8 in looks, but sounds like an ARP. Wonderful. Did I mention I liked it?.
yeah, it combines the looks of the Jupiter-8 and the Synclavier ;-)
if you were in a shop with a Crumar Performer, this Farfisa or a Farfisa Syntorchestra, which one would you choose?
I would go for the Soundmaker. It sounds really nice and is the most flexible of all three.
@@AnalogAudio1 thanks a lot for your answer. before that, I found one at 2h drive in working condition. I didn’t go further and called the person then bought it after seeing your demo. Then I read you sold yours as another farfisa would do almost the same but in a compact instrument -forget which one. I was like « You are too impulsive ». so now I feel better 😉 I was interested in the ARP Solina string synthetizer, looking to have a string machine combined with monosynth. Farfisa soundmacker do this for much cheaper it seems. And more.. I have an ARP Omni 1 to repair. maybe I should find a tech to recap and change condensators of the FSM and other things.I don’t know. One thing : some say it’s not the best strings. I found in your vid geat rich strings. IDK if you know and like François de Roubaix but this Farfisa when you play it at a certain time, sounds like him. If you don’t, have a listen to this soundtrack genius by the right door. His string synth are quite unique and this farifisa have « that » sound. beautiful.
How did u collect so many synths!
Have a feeling they track a lot of these down and then pay to demo them for youtube hits??? I don't know that but it'd make sense rather than having an insane synth depository of everything that's ever been made
I had no idea Farfisa made synths. I thought they just made organs. Cool sounds. I bet parts are hard to get for these now.
hello my friend .. that said the song at 1.20
Does anyone know where i can buy this synthesizer?
Antoine Frejean Nope, no one here has heard of ebay.
Italy
Maybe go on hols to an Italian city and scour second hand shops
I think even in Italy it's hard to find nowadays
@@synthesizerhome2041 unfortunately thai is true..
Do You know more or less the nowadays price of a good condition one?
600-700 Euros is realistic I think. The most units need service after 45 years.
I'll have two please.
Did Pink Floyd use this?
Actually Richard Wright used Farfisa organs, that's why this reminds us of Pink Floyd.
Awesome sound. I guess these boxes did not sell well. Because they are rare as hen's teeth...
please can someone sell me one of these??
Tomita?
Damm can i sample your instrument?
I felt in love with the sound of this instrument.
it would fit amazingly in my project if not what other machine has this dreamy sound
Il "piccolo" CS80
how does it compare to the Syntorchestra?
it's a completely different beast
the only one thing they have in common is, that both have a string ensemble and a monophonic section. Sound and possibilities are completely different. The Syntorchestra is very simple.
😨😨😰😰😱😱🥶🥶🥶 I just... I just don’t know what to say, I’m shivering from all this richness! (Somebody please save me from sampling this dude, I’m so so tempted)
aka the plantasia machine
Sounds like Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygène.
It also sounds partly like ZooLook
plantasia
Soviet 80s movies!
Looks like a poor man‘s Synclavier somehow. :D
Hi, i really need your demo in .WAV! Could you send me this please? i send you back a bottle of wine from france :).
I want one. Who wants to sell one to me?
5 grand little man, put that shit in my hand...
I'll wait for the behringer version :=)
