Galera, esse tipo de respostas que eles deram é algo bem normal quando se cresce não recebendo informações sobre um determinado local. Esse tipo de teste foi feito sem saber o que iriam perguntar, por isso que era pra responderem o que vinha a mente em primeiro. Ninguém ali teve tempo de parar e pesquisar sobre o país. É a mesma coisa se fizessem isso com a gente, pegassem pra um teste e perguntassem algo sobre o Zimbábue de repente, sei lá. I know it's impossible to know everything about every country, but doing a little research doesn't hurt anyone. I know I have a lot of prejudices to break about other cultures. Personally, as a Brazilian woman I felt offended by the small mind, the way they were xenophobic and objectified, shows that there is still a lot to learn. We are a very diverse country, we do not speak Spanish, our official language is Portuguese, our population has all colors and all types of bodies, our cuisine is extensive, not every brazilian samba or plays soccer, women are not easy and yes, we are still Americans, because the American continent is not just US and Canada. It would be interesting if the channel team, in addition to bringing people to talk about what they think about other countries, would also inform them about what the culture of that country really is.

When I think of Brazil, I think of a very large country in which most of it is very sparsely populated, but with a mixture of different kinds of people (such as white, black and everything in between and they get along well) and areas having remote tribes of native people.
In Brazil we have a little of everything kkkk The population is concentrated on some places, like capitals and the coast because of how we were colonized, but some states are more populated than others, some have more forests (very different type of vegetation included), others are farm concentrated...as for natives tribes, it's also varies a lot. We have some tribes that are close to cities and have conecction to people and even work, usually doing craftsmanship and selling it. Other tribes, in the state of Amazônia for example, don't have connection to the outer world, only knowing the forest and their own population. Also, even though we have different kinds of people, that doesn't mean everyone gets along well, we still have racism and xenophobia too. I hope you could learn a little more from Brazil from this!

In the southeast region of Brazil, mainly in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, we have the most predominant rhythms in samba, bossa nova (mixture of samba with North American jazz), pagode (known as samba pop), ijexá (also of our African origin along with samba), rock, sertanejo (reminiscent of country music), funk (but it is a different funk from North America, it is predominant in the periphery and has a more electronic form that resembles electronic music). In the North and Northeast of Brazil we have the rhythms more concentrated in the mixture of European origin with African and also native indigenous), the most played rhythms are baião/xote, forró, frevo (resembles a happier march), axé, maracatu ( of our African origin), calypso (reminiscent of ska rock with Hawaiian music)... In the south of Brazil we have sertanejo (like cowntry music), rock/metal, xote (sounds like polka with salsa), we also have the vanerão, chamamé which are part of our European origin, mainly from the Germans and Italians, a very strong tradition in this region. But international music is well disseminated and even more promoted and played on the radio in all regions of the country, especially pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, soul and gospel. You guys in the video danced the samba much better than 85% of Brazilians, if not 90%. Brazil is multicultural.

I'm from a small town in the midwest of Brazil and I always find these videos so funny because the impressions that these foreigners have of Brazil is the same that we here in the brazilian midwest have of the people from Rio de Janeiro. For us it's almost another country, we don't speak the same portuguese dialect, our food is different and NOBODY here knows how to dance samba. Also we don't have beaches, just farms and cattle. Anyway just a remind to anyone who ever reads this comment that there are many cultures in Brazil and if you ever meet someone from my region you would probably be very disapointed because we are nothing like the brazilians described in this video.

unbelievable how they'll say something almost nice and then imediately proceed to say the most disrespectful thing you have ever heard
I know it's impossible to know everything about every country, but doing a little research doesn't hurt anyone. I know I have a lot of prejudices to break about other cultures. Personally, as a Brazilian woman I felt offended by the small mind, the way they were xenophobic and objectified, shows that there is still a lot to learn.
We are a very diverse country, we do not speak Spanish, our official language is Portuguese, our population has all colors and all types of bodies, our cuisine is extensive, not every brazilian samba or plays soccer, women are not easy and yes, we are still Americans, because the American continent is not just US and Canada.
It would be interesting if the channel team, in addition to bringing people to talk about what they think about other countries, would also inform them about what the culture of that country really is.

When I think of Brazil, I think of a very large country in which most of it is very sparsely populated, but with a mixture of different kinds of people (such as white, black and everything in between and they get along well) and areas having remote tribes of native people.
In Brazil we have a little of everything kkkk The population is concentrated on some places, like capitals and the coast because of how we were colonized, but some states are more populated than others, some have more forests (very different type of vegetation included), others are farm concentrated...as for natives tribes, it's also varies a lot. We have some tribes that are close to cities and have conecction to people and even work, usually doing craftsmanship and selling it. Other tribes, in the state of Amazônia for example, don't have connection to the outer world, only knowing the forest and their own population. Also, even though we have different kinds of people, that doesn't mean everyone gets along well, we still have racism and xenophobia too. I hope you could learn a little more from Brazil from this!

Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish.
No Spanish or Spanish speaking Latin American food/dance/music are popular in Brazil. With just a few exceptions, like Shakira (which is not folk music).

Nós somos uma cultura que não gosta de demonstrar tristeza apesar de termos uma taxa muito alta de suicídios, e mesmo quando estamos mal, muitas vezes a gente continua demonstrando que ta tudo bem e isso leva a gente a ter essa imagem de bem receptivo e amigável, oq eu acho que é uma coisa bem legal da nossa cultura. Realmente, mas eu faço o meu máximo pra não criar ideias erradas sobre outros países e culturas. Cara, só pesquisando o mínimo na internet eu já aprendi muuuito sobre outros povos e percebi que muito do que pensava sobre tal lugar era totalmente errado/ equivocado, já outras coisas eram verdade. Alguns estereótipos são realidade, alguns são a realidade meio distorcida e outros são o total oposto do que se passa naquele país, por isso é muito importante tirarmos uns minutinhos do nosso dia de vez em quando para conhecer melhor outras culturas, tudo com um simples click no celular!

O que eu percebi é que tudo o que eles falaram dobre o Brasil está mais focalizado nos costumes dos cariocas, dos fluminenses. In the southeast region of Brazil, mainly in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, we have the most predominant rhythms in samba, bossa nova (mixture of samba with North American jazz), pagode (known as samba pop), ijexá (also of our African origin along with samba), rock, sertanejo (reminiscent of country music), funk (but it is a different funk from North America, it is predominant in the periphery and has a more electronic form that resembles electronic music). In the North and Northeast of Brazil we have the rhythms more concentrated in the mixture of European origin with African and also native indigenous), the most played rhythms are baião/xote, forró, frevo (resembles a happier march), axé, maracatu ( of our African origin), calypso (reminiscent of ska rock with Hawaiian music)... In the south of Brazil we have sertanejo (like cowntry music), rock/metal, xote (sounds like polka with salsa), we also have the vanerão, chamamé which are part of our European origin, mainly from the Germans and Italians, a very strong tradition in this region. But international music is well disseminated and even more promoted and played on the radio in all regions of the country, especially pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, soul and gospel. You guys in the video danced the samba much better than 85% of Brazilians, if not 90%. Brazil is multicultural.

I'm from a small town in the midwest of Brazil and I always find these videos so funny because the impressions that these foreigners have of Brazil is the same that we here in the brazilian midwest have of the people from Rio de Janeiro. For us it's almost another country, we don't speak the same portuguese dialect, our food is different and NOBODY here knows how to dance samba. Also we don't have beaches, just farms and cattle. Anyway just a remind to anyone who ever reads this comment that there are many cultures in Brazil and if you ever meet someone from my region you would probably be very disapointed because we are nothing like the brazilians described in this video.
I've been away from Brazil for a while but it still surprises me that whether they confused Spanish and Portuguese, they still knew a LOT more than I expected, especially that comment about the feijoada being a dish eaten by slaves, wow mega props.
