It always amazes me the mistakes that some fighters team make. In the UK there was a superb Middleweight prospect called Errol Christie. His team put him in with a Light Heavyweight, Jose Seys. Seys could fight, in fact, he was very dangerous. He brutally flattened Christie in the first round. He was never the same, ruined his career. This was, at the very least, a poorly judged match - up for O` Sullivan.
poor Shawn O'Sullivan... he never should have fought Brown at this point in his career... Sugar Ray was wrong and Shawn paid for it. O'Sullivan was a great Olympic boxer but he wasn't made for the pro ranks.
Sad to watch this one management rushed it ! I think he was signed with sugar Ray's team. My dad John Shaw was on his amateur team at Cabbagetown, Sean would spare and knockout heavyweights and would also smile when he hit my dad with body shots. Last time I seen him was at my 4th birthday party lmao miss the guy
Angelo Dundee wouldn't put Ray Leonard in with Simon Brown at that point of his career....wow! Shawn O'Sullivan Vs Simon Brown and Wille DeWitt Vs Bert Cooper.......MAN O MAN LOL!
How did shaun not go down after those bombs?man o Sullivan was tougher than nails.he got some very good shots in on Simon brown ..both tough fighters .
@@coachrandall8190 Are you that dumb? If you read the post you were commenting on the poster was referring to shots O Sullivan had taken up until the stoppage not the hypothetical ones he would have taken had the fight not been stopped Einstein!!
Basically , this was the fight that ended his career.. Trainers and management should have had him fight a few more fights with lower quality experienced professional fighters first ,, then slowly work his way up to the quality fighters like Simon Brown 🤷♂️
12:55 The Third Ranked Contender for The Canadian Title! Shawn was Not even The Champ in his Own Country And There's 2 Guys Ranked Above Him? And They Put Him in With A Killer?
Excellent stoppage. if your going to put your young fighter in with a seasoned pro who can punch you should at least teach him to put his dam hands up so he doesn't get caught with right hand hay makers.
With hindsight a big mistake was made here matching Shawn with Simon Brown. Brown was one of the top welterweights in the world for a few years.
Terrible management. 11 fights and they throw him in with a dangerous guy like Brown.
I feel bad for Shawn, this fight was a rush and a big mistake. This ruined Shawn’s career, he was never the same afterward
Best fighter Canada ever had shawn we love u

After this bout...didn’t hear from O’Sullivan again...
That's the usual of Great white hopes.

Tough andbrain damaged severely.
Simon Brown's hooks had more power than anything thrown by O'Sullivan.
Pros are much different than the amatuers.
Just ask Mark breland
Wille Dewitt
Torontonian Champion Of The World next to GEORGE CHUVALO.
Who also never won the title

Shaun had him until that flurry. Why wasn't there a standing 8 count ?

I was there watching and hoping but...
Now don’t get me wrong, O’Sullivan had talent, but lacked the power to throw devastating bombs, Dave or Matthew Hilton , would have destroyed Brown .
Waaaaaay too early. Poor match making.

Mismatch at that time .
He was used as a payday
