You hit a sweet spot with me with this one. Indeed the shell stitch is my all time favorite. For a wrap how long and wide would you suggest? I like them BIG so they really wrap around me. I imagine for a wrap to have a nice drape you would have to use a whole size bigger hook, right? I love how nice snd tight the stitch is mow for a blanket. Thanks for all you do.
Great question! I believe a good size width for a wrap is between 80 and 108 inches. I would also use a bigger crochet hook for that drape you are talking about. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching and crocheting with me. 😊💖🧶
The yarn that I am using is a specialty yarn that can only be found at local yarn shops and not big box stores. I do try to help people out by selling kit box options so they don't have to worry about materials! Great question. I do believe you can start with a sc row. Just look to see how many chains are used for the turn, subtract from total foundation row, sc that many sts. I hope this helps. 🤗💖🧶
Oh my! I never end right on the first row. I am making the small throw. It is supposed to have 20 Shells in it. Mine has 21. Do I have to start over? I counted very carefully.
Hi Joy! If you followed everything correctly then you are fine to continue even with 21 shells. I'm curious if you had 2 half shells on each side that would add up to the 22? Not exactly sure what happened with the count but if you got the stitch to work on row 1 then just keep going. 🤗💖🧶
Great question. Yes, I would go simple and just frame the blanket. You could do a sc border but be careful of your tension. You could also do a hdc or dc border as well. The main idea is to go simple with whatever stitch you choose and let the Shell’s & V’s stitch be the star ⭐️ 😊
I am so glad you take the time to make sure we understand!😊

Love this pattern! Can it be started with a sc row first? I like the stability of that type of base row.

I'm going to make this up into a blanket - what border do yoh think would be best? I presume a simple one like sc?
