    You do a great job! It's very relaxing to chop grass (especially on my end not having to worry about broken trucks)

    I have no-till planted alfalfa in February, and I didn't think it was going to be any good, but after it was cut cut, it filled in great. Maybe you will have the same luck 🤞🤞. Best stand I ever got was with full tillage and a Roller Seeder. It grew like a carpet. Different land and different region, but that worked for me here. Y'all keep at it!👍👍

    Last time I tried to plant Alfalfa, planting in mid fall, was hoping it was taking root, following spring, only weeds came up. Ended up plowing it all back under, planting Brome instead, again, weeds tried to take over, mowed them off. Following year, had the thickest stand of brome ever. Shame the field was turned over to pasture ground at that time. Great video as always, cheers :)

    Good help is hard to find. Have one young fellow working for us that would love to be on big equipment. Too many little things make me say no. Two weeks ago while we were doing 2nd cutting his job was to mow the lawns .Run the mower out of gas couldn’t get it started after.Two mistakes ,run it out of gas and left the mower deck engaged called for help repeatedly. Still needs training wheels!

    I love it call it normal 1st cutting & 2 nd cutting
    Others call it 1 st crop and 2 nd crop , it is weird to me when they do , it's cuz we r like less than 100 mile deference . Weird , huh I think it's weird 🤪I was in your neck of the woods and bought this golf cart and I know the farms I was passing were prob urs . I'm from Honeoye lake but live in Newfane in Niagra co

    Does anyone in your area double crop with winter forage or is the growing season too short?

    • @FarmingFixingFabricating
      @FarmingFixingFabricating  Місяць тому

      It’s just a touch too short….

    • @10thgenerationdairyman61

      @@FarmingFixingFabricating Yeah you guys are pretty far north. Around here a ton of guys are getting away from alfalfa but we have a lot more time in the fall to get rye or tritcale established. At least you guys probably don't get quite as much heat in the summer for the cows sake.

    • @FarmingFixingFabricating
      @FarmingFixingFabricating  Місяць тому

      @@10thgenerationdairyman61 we get a fair amount of heat. High 80’s lower 90’s the past few weeks. We don’t get corn off soon enough in the fall …. We would have to manure all the corn ground prior to fall planting and then again not enough time in the spring to harvest then manure prior to planting corn again…
