As a disabled retired Dairy Farmer who milked 175-200 cows, this project has my head spinning-I’m excited to see the finished product-Good luck with the future of your family dairy farm and continue to show us the progress of your farm-thanks again
I also am a disabled retired milkman I milked cows for most of my working career when I stopped milking I was milking around 470 jerseys ! Milking will make you very old very quick I’m 53 years old
@@PoeHessI’m 55 and starting to feel a lot of pain in my shoulders from milking in a herringbone parlour ! It’s a tough life and a very fatiguing life .
An amazing structure, hasn't gotten any smaller. Sure looks fantastic, and will definitely change and increase your production. I for one am very proud to see your Family Farm expanding for the future and and it's families. God Bless you all.
Great video tour and introduction to your families new dairy facility and outhouses. Well done to all concerned and yourself Andy, for taking time out to keep us updated here on UA-cam. Excellent to see such great progress with all the projects you take on. 👏 👍🇮🇪
How many zip codes are in this barn . I'm sure you will have to have a map mad of this aera . Will you have to add machery to your operation trucks' , tractors and all kinds of other equipment more employees, a fuel depot. Love seeing your equipment, the maintenance you perform on the machery. Love your veido's. Just simply mind blowing. Great job . Are we going to see more land being bought or rented . Just how tractors do you run . Your operation is huge .Thanks for sharing your build .
Very impressive, thanks for the tour, and congratulations to your family to provide for your continued prosperity. I wish more families could work together for a better future.
Loving the videos Andy, it's been a long cold winter here in the South Island of New Zealand, your videos have help to get me through the hard days, Thank you.
Hi Mr. Andy ! Very nice ! 80 stall will spin for the white gold every days very soon . Good for you ! Thanks Andy for your time and have a good day at the farm ! 🙋♂️
Do you think you're parents ever envisioned this while milking in the old tie stall barn across the road? Such an awesome expansion in order to keep the family farm going strong!
Very impressive Andy, I remember back in my college days touring some of the larger dairy's learning new technology. The larger farms were milking 200 or 300 cows and carousel was a new concept...things have really changed, Thanks for update! 👍
THANK YOU ANDY > FOR ALL THE INFORMATION ON NEW BARN 'S AND NEW PARLOR GREAT VIDEO'S BEEN WATCHING EACH ONE OF THE UP DATES = TURELY ENJOY > Russ Robinson , Whitmore Lake , Michigan 48189 = GoD Bless the Great Farming Family's
Damnnnnn Andy will this build make your Family farm the biggest in North of America? Crap it’s looking like you’re going to be the bull with the big ONE 😂 😂🤣 awesome improvements !
Concrete work looks great at the rate they are going another month will have the parlour well on the way.Its a massive project can’t wait to see the cows spinning round on the rotary.
Hey Andy! Them some fine looking cattle you have there! I can see you guys take pride in your cattle health management!!!!! When do you plan on being in the new facilities?
Might of missed the parts in previous videos but as a dairy farmer myself I have a couple questions. 1- why the return all seem so wide and not just make a wider holding area and 2-will you add any cows or already have enough to expand from within? Thanks again !
Looks like things are coming together. Best of Luck as project starting to wind down. Will the manure be difficult to clean out of the grooves of the rubber matting?
I see a big calf barn coming when barn 9 is added on too😮😮,calf feeding inside nice in winter!! I am sure you will be expanding cow numbers before you even go into the new parlor with cows, being housed in the new free stall barn. Will there be any animals purchased ANDY??? Getter done before the NEW YORK winters. AMAZING SIR !!!
I'm surprised as to how quickly and how much they're getting done in this short amount of time since the last video. Just curious, next expansion, will that go where those feeder calves are at? (The calf igloos). Or will it go somewhere else? I know you had mentioned about the possibility of adding again in the future. Andy, it's really coming along and looking good. Looking forward to when you're finally able to start using it. Kinda jealous, all we had was an old 8 stall dairy barn, milked by hand... really wasn't bad. Thank you for bringing us along. Cheers :)
Great video You have a plan and I hope that it all comes together. ?? I have is the rubber floors which I think is the best idea I have seen yet. I had a 20 boarding horse stable and used rubber mats in the stalls. Great foot comfort. But my ?? is what method are using to remove the manure in these alley rubber ways. My guess is water flush but I did not hear you address that.
That’s pretty amazing. My one question is I assume you’re adding many more cows but do you get to the point where you don’t have enough land to produce feed for so many cows?
Fabulous looking job , are you going to milk in the other parlour as well or will it be redundant ? How many cows will you milk in total when this job is complete ? We are Dairy farming in Southern Ireland 🇮🇪
That's going to be a nice setup both cow comfort wise and use wise for people, definitely well thought out. Those headlocks look like sturdy builts? We have those in our heifer barn and their robot pathway finger gates. Are you going to pump directly through a plate cooler and into tanker truck or doing bulk tanks? The coupler bigger places near me they are going directly into tankers. Thanks for sharing andy
The Rubber is extremely heavy, but its not a impossible. The rubber is all fastened down to prevent this. One roll 69" x 264' (half the length of the alley) weighed 9000 lbs. One feed alley is about 45,000 lbs of total rubber then it gets fastened so it can be cleaned.
Nice place Andy. You and your family can be very proud of your accomplishments. Are the steel lined ceilings to keep the birds out? The farms I have worked on here in Ohio had a terrible bird issue
@@frankburkett7547 Having the ceiling lined with tin certainly would help with the bird issues but also protects the insulation that is in the ceiling to help keep the temperature more controlled
I remember visiting a farm south of Rochester that my brother-in-law managed years ago. Where he did the hoof trimming there was a pile of clippings 3 feet tall. Is there a sump on the parlor tunnel in case of excess water?? A former neighbor had a sump pump in his milking parlor. Another of our neighbors had a woodstove in his parlor for the winter to heat the parlor and milkhouse.
Is there any way you can use the retention pond for irrigation of a few acres to guarantee that you can get some high yields if you hit a dry spell? Maybe 50 acres under a gun would be a little insurance against the other thousands+ that may come up short. Just spitballing, you know what you need to do, and I love watching you do it. 👍👍
Absolutely brilliant. Long term success for generations to.come.

I like the barn expansion but I'm waiting for the repair shop expansion
Great video 👍🚜
Wondering, will you keep the old parlor as a backup?
Keep up the good work!
JIM ❤
Its going well.
That 1/4 mile rubber strip looks tempting for a drag before the cows come home
The gravity of your expansion is amazing…always thinking about future expansion…👍
Might of missed the parts in previous videos but as a dairy farmer myself I have a couple questions. 1- why the return all seem so wide and not just make a wider holding area and 2-will you add any cows or already have enough to expand from within? Thanks again !
Return isn’t as wide as it looks there will be alley ways put in later. We will slowly expand within
Looks like things are coming together. Best of Luck as project starting to wind down.
Will the manure be difficult to clean out of the grooves of the rubber matting?
Awesome thanks for the tour
looks great.hope you do a video showing the cows getting milked and how they enter and exit
That’s going to be an awesome setup when completed.

Are these buildings replacing your current buildings or are they for additional cows? Nice setup!
Big investment in the farm and family. How long does it usually take to train the herd to use a rotary parlor?
We’ll find out

That’s one thing that we messed up on
That’s pretty amazing. My one question is I assume you’re adding many more cows but do you get to the point where you don’t have enough land to produce feed for so many cows?
Yeah we don’t have enough land as it is
A lot going on and it's coming together rather quick. Cant wait to see the next steps

Andy, thanks for the tour. Mighty impressive. Once your new facility is in use, what are your plans for the old milking facility?
