I'm just imagining Bruce watching the film utterly confused wondering why Magilla was playing him.
But enjoying it nonetheless because he also is a fan of Magilla Gorilla and is kinda jelly Dick got to meet him.

Great episode. Thanks to your video, I went and dug up the issue from the DC Universe site. Besides being a very amusing story (a world where people take it seriously that Magilla Gorilla will play Dick Grayson's dad and Grape Ape will play Dick Grayson is superb) it was a solid noir story. Could you look up the Banana Splits and the Flash and others?

Hey, I really liked "A Monkey's Uncle" when I was a kid. Still, really liked this comic book. Of course that is probably largely also because of the flashbacks to his relationships with the bat family.
I loved all these crossovers! Partly because I'm a sucker for a crossover whomever it stars (I was reading Terminator v Robocop just yesterday) and partly because this particular series was so silly. I like a bit of silly too which in part explains how much I love this channel.
Just so long as DC don't try making them canon...

It's not a DC crossover. It was it's own comic series put out by DC.
Yeah it’s part of the HB beyond line like Johnny quest universe and the flinstones. All 3 are pretty decent actually

These crossovers are something else. This one example of why I like and enjoy this channel so much. You cover stories that any of the other comic book based channels that I follow cover. You're cool, cool, cool, cool!

Magilla Producing "CSI: Malibu" (7:10) and thus having access to to a Fully Functioning Crime Lab isn't wholly unbelievable...
I recall from when the CSIs were still on TV it was discussed in several articles that the Devices in the Lab sets were not 'Props' but Fully Functioning Lab Equipment... as expensive as the devices are, apparently it was cheaper for the Studio to buy the actual device than to commission a 'faux-working' Replica

The original Hannah-barbera and DC comics characters crossover was in the new Scooby-Doo movies. With Batman,Robin,Joker and penguin appearing in two episodes. I still think one of the episodes should've had Riddler and Catwoman. In the first episode they name drop the Riddler.

The idea of Dick phoning Barbara about the case is funny. "Hey Babs. I'm helping prove a gorilla actor innocent of murder" with Barbara thinking "I know there's a whole city full of gorillas somewhere in the world but a gorilla actor? What drugs is Dick on?"
Considering the idea is that Magilla is a famous actor, it’d probably be more like:
“Babs, you’ll never believe where I am and who I’m with right now.”
“Okay, what?” *Sips her coffee*
“I’m in Malibu _with_ Magilla Gorilla!”
*Spits her coffee* “WITH WHO!?”
“I know but seriously, I’m helping him right now because he was just framed for murder. We need your help.”

I'm surprised there hasn't been a Batman issue in which someone is developing a movie based on the Wayne murders. It's cool that they used this idea for the murder of Dick Grayson's parents in this crossover.

Using magic may sound like a silly idea but in a world where you have tangible evidences of magic being real, I don't understand why they don't use it more often.

I too have found, since I have had at times in my life to read from scripts, that you can get so used to the words you end up going too fast. Then you totally lose your place.

I liked it / the writers rarely depicts Bruce in father form to his proteges / they usually depicts them as a working relationship / Same for Alfred to Bruce until lately

Since you are in the Batman family here sometime I stumbled on something in my comics collection. It was the DC comicbook called "Hex" starring Jonah Hex in the future. What crazier he fight a future Batman and it's not Terry McGinnis! It happen in Hex issues 11 and 12. I thoughts the Hex comicbooks (which are crazy) and his meet up with this future Batman would be a great subjects to talk about. Love what you do. Keep it going. Given the canon existence of Gorilla Grodd, Monsieur Mallah, Detective Chimp, not to mention the whole population of Gorilla City, Grape Ape and Magilla Gorilla seem natural fits with the DC universe…but I really can’t make heads or tails out of the idea of a Flying Graysons movie starring two celebrity apes, at least one of whom seems chiefly known for his comedic work.
More nightwing story’s please his character is done for bc of the editorial staff at dc comics hate him for some reason when he has the best story ever bc If you think about it Nightwing could of been batman if bruce’s parents never got shot Nightwing watched his family get gunned down and no one helped if bruce wasn’t batman i’m pretty sure Nightwing would of joined up the superhero role as maybe Owlman bc of his talons connection and also maybe he could of been evil with the court of owls kinda like how bruce could of been a murder by killing joe chill or a good person by just saving people and not killing anymore bc he doesn’t have the right to kill anyone it’s so interesting how it’s one or two options for these characters while superman has infinite options he could do

I'm not sure what to think. The story isn't awful but..... yeah. The spyglass use by Nightwing on the cover is probably my favorite. It feels like a clever throwback to that era of the 70s before all the modern tech. I'm just glad Magilla didn't do it. I have my reasons.
