Vet receptionist here. Everywhere I’ve worked offers standard and private cremation. Standard is generally cheaper and the pet is cremated with other pets whose owner also chose that cremation; these ashes are not returned to the owner. Private cremations tend to cost more, but the pet is cremated by itself and those ashes are returned
came to say this but you beat me to it! all of my pets' ashes are their own, we paid to make sure of that. there's nothing wrong with standard cremation either! just depends on how you want to proceed

As a pet cremator, I promise most crematories do NOT throw them all in one spot 😂 there’s different levels of cremation, like, a private cremation where your pet is the only one in there, an individual cremation where there’s multiple pets in there but they’re separated, and a communal cremation where they DO put them all in one pile BUT that’s only when you DONT want the ashes back lmao
Austin talking about how he wouldn't stop for someone in distress is surprisingly common. There are so many cases of people escaping their murdered and running for help and no one will help them. I remember one case where the woman had been shot in the head, she managed to escape even though she was almost completely blinded, and ran down a busy street completely naked, covered in blood, in broad daylight and no one stopped to help her. Her murderer eventually realized she had escaped and came and got her and got her back to the house. It's more terrifying to me to think you could be in situation like that, surrounded by people and not a single one would help you.
I honestly don't know what I'd do if someone naked, traumatised and covered in blood asked for my help. Honestly no idea. We train ourselves to filter it out when someone is in complex long term distress that is difficult to solve (poverty, homelessness, mental illness, drug issues etc.) It might be hard to recognise when someone is in acute immediate distress that is relatively easy to solve (provide temporary shelter and call police etc.)
@@youbiscuit2146 yea maybe. There's also the phenomenon of bystander effect. Closest I've come to being tested like that was when I was at the mall and someone started seizing and smacked their head on the floor so hard he was bleeding. We were all standing around waiting for someone to do something and eventually I jumped in to put my sweater under his head and make sure he didn't choke or something, and got one of the bystanders to call 911. I don't think it lines up necessarily because it seems more obvious that you would help a woman covered in blood than stop for someone waving you over to their car on a dark highway with no one around.

True, an unusual way to open it, but actually pretty smart and hygienic cos you’re not directly touching the end that touches your mouth or that touches the drink, just the middle 🤔
30:42 Regarding the Survivor host vs Mr. Beast, it's not simply traditional media companies vs new style media. First, the Survivor host is essentially a paid actor He works for a company that is well insured and well liable. Whereas Beast is like an unofficial CEO of his own brand (he recently left NightMedia, and I dont know what's going on at the moment). In the limited Survivor episodes I've seen the they always state that medical staff are at the ready for emegencies, and they show on video the times when medical staff were needed/requested to intervene. Granted, this also serves to "punch up" the drama of an episode, but it never seemed they were trying to hide the dangers of competing. In the few Mr. Beast episodes I've watched (most being the large competitions), the production team seems to gloss over any health issues--be it sanitary, nutirtional, or otherwise-- in there glamorously edited postings. Worst of all Jimmy the Beast hasn't addressed any of this publicly. Likely because his PR team or attorneys have advised against it. Or maybe it's even worse. Maybe he doesn't see any problems, and doesn't give a crap, so long as he can keep making a ton of money and donating enough that he can justify feeling good about it all.
It is sad to hear that Will has again met an unfortunate end from another self-sucking incident gone wrong after what was a tenuous road of recovery. He is dearly missed by everyone.
Hasán & Austin… thank you so much for asking interesting questions. I’ve seen a lot of podcast with Kurtis and Danny and it’s always kinda the same questions. This just felt like a few friends chatting and roasting each other. Appreciate that 🙏
hey! CVA here or a certified vet assistant. IDK how it runs in other states but here in Miami, owners pay to have their pet ashes go into the crematory privately then you get back an urn. The only time they get burned all together is if the owners don’t want the ashes back then it goes to a communal one. And i have friends in other clinics all throughout miami who have a same process. We even seperate them into diffrent colored bags and put it on the body bag tag
Austin is not making up the cremation stuff up. However, in all the services I've had to use (lost both of my cats this year), they tell you up front the costs for a "communal" cremation versus ensuring your pet is cremated alone. The isolated cremation typically costs extra.
For anyone wondering they do not cremate your pet with a bunch of other animals and then give it back to you. If you have your pet cremated and get their ashes it is ONLY your pet. Some people who don't/ can't afford to get their pets remains opt for communal burial/ cremation, which would be what Austin is talking about. I can assure you that the dog on your night stand is in fact only your dog
most places will give you the choice of communal or private cremation. in some places you have to pay a premium. a large portion of the time communal cremation is utilized when the pet owner do not want the cremains back. (source: i’ve had over a dozen pets in my life and have done volunteer work at animal shelters. experiences vary depending on where you are though)
It's not that you don't have to pay taxes in Canada, it's just that the CRA doesn't criminalize you for it unless you're doing fraud. If you owe, they take it out of your kickbacks. I've owed before, never once wrote a cheque.
I love all the guests so far, and the chill vibes of this podcast, and I really enjoy watching it every week. ❤️ Since this is a fairly new pod, I’d like to give a few thoughts as a massive fan of the podcast format (and Hasan’s). For me the pod sometimes feels more like a stream segment. I’d like to see them focus more and dive deeper on topics for longer period at a time (like the youtube vs twitch). Sometimes it feels like the conversations are almost ”too” natural and relaxed, when the topics switch and bounce around very quickly. This really works for streams, and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy streams, but on a podcast it’s a bit hard to follow sometimes, and gets frustrating when an interesting topic gets cut off several times on a 1h episode. Also even though video podcasts are really trendy rn, I personally prefer a pod that works just as well with just the audio, and I think just a bit of structure would help this goal tremendously! Rn I feel like I need the video to follow what’s happening. Also cutting out more unnecessary stuff like sharing fries (or maybe even skipping eating while recording) would really improve the listening/watching experience, since the free episode’s are only 1h long. But these are just my 2 cents on what would improve this show as a podcast! But I’m just one random fan, so nobody has to agree with me ofc! I’ll continue watching regardless❤️
In Michigan it's illegal to pick up hitchhikers, but one time my mom and I saw some bicyclist get sideswiped by a truck so we gave him a ride down the road, he ended up getting out and riding his bike like 5 miles to the next town
48:23 I find it interesting that Kurtis and Danny aren’t already aware as to why a gay man doesn’t feel safe/comfortable watching Netflix’ Jeff Dahmer series… That is trauma. What the hell.
I live in Alberta and my mom was the person who told me that Che Guevara is actually Justin Trudeau's father (she's in alot of Facebook groups). I just laughed and she got mad 😂😭
In relation to the MrBeast power thing, I was thinking about this yesterday. They always say like 3 corporation control the media/globe basically, but MrBeast (and a handful of other creators) are on their way to being billionairs. Jimmy said there could be about 5 by the end of 2023. I want to see Jimmy and the content creators take on the major corporations for control of the fate of the world in like 2035
10 min into the episode and this is already the funniest episode holly shit I love Austin as a co-host and Danny and Curtis as gust this was hilarious.
As someone who’s spent time surround by people who’ve committed heinous crimes: never underestimate how easy is to forget even the worst people have a human side. I don’t mean it like a reformatory sense or empathy, just that when you interact with those people there’s like cognitive dissonance you almost can’t believe this is the same person who did that kinda stuff
They do have mass cremations for people that don't want the ashes back If you are getting the ashes back it would be just your pet There's also aqua cremation
If I had a nickel for seeing two of my favorite pairs on the fear& podcast that could not be more opposite than each other I would have TWO nickels (supermega and kurtis and danny)
An actual vet tech here. Here’s the facts (no fucking needed). You can choose individual or group cremation. If you do group they don’t give you the ashes back, and they are all just cremated together. But if you choose individual it is just your pet. So if you have the ashes then it is just your dog.
as i even paid for my cat's cremation i wondered if the 'pay extra for individual cremation' was a scam but i'll just keep believing i have my cat's ashes only.

Can confirm, I’m a lesbian and love Kurtis!
#relatable
real
Kurtis is so loveable
Remember when imagine dragons sold out a world tour in less than 3 days. Now it’s like you can literally buy the band for that
the cremation thing is 100% true. my roommate in college lost her cat and regular cremation was like 150 and solo was like 400 I think
Hasan you can pay an actor and istruct him through an earpiece and still do the "I joined a company" bit
Love Will but Austin ❤️❤️❤️❤️!!! Also Danny!!! Very cool guests this episode! Died laughing right at the beginning 😅 thanks guys!
Kurtis and Danny saying Among Us repeatedly is extreeeemley funny
In relation to the MrBeast power thing, I was thinking about this yesterday. They always say like 3 corporation control the media/globe basically, but MrBeast (and a handful of other creators) are on their way to being billionairs. Jimmy said there could be about 5 by the end of 2023.
I want to see Jimmy and the content creators take on the major corporations for control of the fate of the world in like 2035
Austin is my favorite host of Fear&
10 min into the episode and this is already the funniest episode holly shit I love Austin as a co-host and Danny and Curtis as gust this was hilarious.
As someone who’s spent time surround by people who’ve committed heinous crimes: never underestimate how easy is to forget even the worst people have a human side. I don’t mean it like a reformatory sense or empathy, just that when you interact with those people there’s like cognitive dissonance you almost can’t believe this is the same person who did that kinda stuff
I'm sorry, how did you spend so much time surrounded by these people??
@@midnight_rambler5571 prison, far left activism etc
They do have mass cremations for people that don't want the ashes back
If you are getting the ashes back it would be just your pet
There's also aqua cremation
Austins voice just sounds like hes been smoking for 80 years but in a sexy way
If I had a nickel for seeing two of my favorite pairs on the fear& podcast that could not be more opposite than each other I would have TWO nickels (supermega and kurtis and danny)
yesss!!
Theres no way Austin is not high, and I'm only 30 secs in
An actual vet tech here. Here’s the facts (no fucking needed). You can choose individual or group cremation. If you do group they don’t give you the ashes back, and they are all just cremated together. But if you choose individual it is just your pet. So if you have the ashes then it is just your dog.
In Canada, if you do not owe the government money, you can get away with filing late or not filing at all that year (95% certain)
danny and kurtis in the same room as hasan kind of makes my brain break
as i even paid for my cat's cremation i wondered if the 'pay extra for individual cremation' was a scam but i'll just keep believing i have my cat's ashes only.
Loved seeing Kurtis and Drew Gooden on the podcast.
