Is there any specific type of thread to be used if I want use different colours? For example, nylon, silk or cotton threads? Or whether regular sewing threads will work fine for this work? Please suggest.
Regular sewing thread would not be the best choice. Regular sewing thread is not thick enough. You should buy bonded nylon heavy upholstery thread.

Well, they no good for seat steering wheels.
To be honest it doesn't look that bad although I did do a bad job of it.. All I can say is it does the job. I may redo it again taking my time.
@@DIY_Easy they work better on the wheels where you can tuck them in under the center, I can't get one for my car I'd have to buy a new wheel 😩
