I'm not really a football fan, but as an area resident there is nothing like the excitement of game day! And so happy you showed some of the marching band rehearsal! I often go down just to watch the pregame show and the drumline! The atmosphere is electric and I think you captured it well! Thanks!
I enjoy videos like this so much. I love when people can experience what it is like at a gameday environment at Kinnick. It is special. Now...if you can imagine that environment...ramp it up by a factor of ten...splash in even more alcohol (For better or worse)...that is what this Saturday afternoon game with Penn State will be.
The best part about all of those tailgates you walked past is that 99% of them will welcome strangers with open arms, sharing food, beer, and good times. Same situation in Ames, gotta love Iowa always there to help your neighbor! Wish you were there for the Penn State game it was deafening in Kinnick!
Thanks for coming to the Iowa game. I'm glad you enjoyed the environment at the stadium. I think the atmosphere doesn't get enough credit for how much fun it is to be there on game day.
If you don't donate enough or know the right people to park right next to the stadium you have to park in the surrounding neighborhoods. When I still lived at home with my parents in SW Iowa we would crawl in our car before the sun was up and make the trek across the state. Our extended family all tailgated in the same lot not far from the stadium. This was during the Hayden Fry years. AWESOME. Our seat were close to where you are sitting but maybe higher up. University has spent about a billion dollars on Kinnick since then. Miss the electricity and excitement of being present.
You can't help but walk by tailgaters on your way to the game. It's in a residential area and if you are wearing the opponents team shirt, or you just happen to make eye contact with someone, they'll grab you a make you drink beer with them and eat their food. The game is always exciting, for better or worse. If the Hawkeyes are doing great, bring the ear plugs, and if the Hawkeyes are not putting up points, the crowd is equally as loud in disapproval. This is the best game day atmosphere. Make sure and wave to the kids!
If you ever return for a game, there’s a big lot next to hancher auditorium that has shuttles that take you a lot closer to Kinnick. It’s free and makes it a little easier
To park outside Kinnick it's $10k-$20k. I was sitting right below the 🇺🇲 pole at the 50yr line. I also seen my Jeep when you were walking down to the stadium. At 1150am we were probably grilling burgers.
Your talking about people being out at 11:50am for a 2:30pm game. When I was a freshmen we walk up at 6am to walk to the stadium and tailgate outside for an 11am game.
I don’t think you explained why you chose to go to KINNICK to watch the Hawkeyes, are you a fan or were you given the idea to go by a supporter of your channel? If you could explain that it would be great. *GO HAWKS*
I'm so glad you got to see my Hawkeyes!! I was in the band there and am DIE HARD!!!!!
im glad you enjoyed your time at kinnick its a special place to many
Great atmosphere!

Getting ready for Iowa and Iowa State on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick. Supposed to be a light breeze and 65 degrees. Perfect.
Hope you had fun there, I miss it so very much.

A little known fact. The Hawkeyes have three fight songs and have had for decades. One was written by Meredith Willson, composer of The Music Man.
I was there at the north end zone!! Great game
That's awesome! It sure was!!! Thanks for watching

I was at the first game when we waved to the kids. We were row 3 50 yard line behind the iowa bench. It's freaking crazy down on the field...

Pro tip: Free shuttle at Iowa Hall
Of Fame lot that drops you off pretty close to the stadium.
Hancher Auditorium, too, where there just so happens to be free parking.
I think we're the only team that come out and go into the locker room hand in hand
I live a place vary near Iowa city.
I was at that game

it was awesome until you started playing music when they ran out...why???/ The whole reason for this is to give a feel of the atmosphere right???
Their head coach has a long tenure their similar to Joe Paterno he's been there forever.
Except ferentz isn’t a rapist
Yep, penn state touches children.
Would not encourage any family member to go to penn state.
No big ass turkey leg?
