When I went to school at Iowa, ('90), I used to work at the games to make extra money and see the game for free. This brings back some great memories of Kinnick. Thank you!
They painted it pink to mellow out their opponents. Pink is a calming color that triggers calm receptors in your brain and kind of mellow receptors. It has taken a role on some teams other colleges have followed it as well. But I think it’s banned now
