Love being able to control the print on the paper and would be wonderful if you are making a series. As always, absolutely brilliant!
Thank you very much, Kate, yes, it would be great to do a series like this, I am going to try and get some done for sale eventually (I feel I have to perfect the technique a bit first, though)! 💗
I have never seen this before. Kari, you are a wealth of information! Thanks for sharing! 😃❤️
Thanks Elaine, I am glad to share, it's a handy tool and a decent price (free) too! 😅
YAY! I learned something new today. This is getting saved. thank you. The print is lovely thank you for the tip on feathering the edges, the effect is beautiful.
Thank you so much, I am glad you like it! 💗💗
This is amazing! A great idea and I love that you always find homemade ideas like this to save money on shop bought art tools.
It really looks like you have mastered the gel plate too! You are so much more confident now Kari 😊
Thank you very much Maria, yes it is good to be able to make our own tools if we can. I have really worked hard to get the results I want on the gel plate and I am enjoying it a lot more now. I still get some that don't work out so well, but they are great for collage! 💗
Such a clever idea … I am new to gelli printing and soooooo loving the techniques and surprises! I’m learning heaps… thanks for your tutorials and for sharing your knowledge 😊
You are so welcome!
Bravo, you are such a pro with these gel prints! ( and much more!)
Thank you so much Becca! 💗
Absolutely love this. Explained so well. Thank you.
Thanks so much Kelly! :)
Thank you I have never seen this a great idea. Thank you for sharing.🥰😊
Thanks Margaret, it is so useful - and free (which is always the best price for art/craft materials, LOL)! 💗💗
I love gel printing, but I don't think I've ever made such a "controlled" print as this. I usually just slap some paint on the plate, mix in some stencils and other mark making dooh-da's and see how grungy I can make each print. I do like your "base" for the plate. Can come in very handy when your plate is smaller (or a different shape) than the paper. TFS ❤
Thank you very much. Oh yes, I love to make fun gel prints that happen by themselves with surprising results, but I am also trying to figure out how to make gel prints in such a way to be able to predict the final outcome to some extent (I studied printmaking at university, so it is in my blood, so to speak)! 💗
Hello, from Salt Lake City, Utah! I love watching your videos and I love this technique! Such a beautiful print, too! I have not yet tried it, but I’m looking forward to making one!
Hi Gayle, thanks so much and I do hope you try it! 🥰
Very clever and very effective Kari❤❤
Thanks so much Toni! 😊💗
this is a great way to line up paper, thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome, Alma! 💗💗
I made my own registering tool a while ago from some foam packaging - it was ok, but I only made it to go in one corner. This idea looks much more stable, so thank you, I will give it a try. The properly made one from Geli Arts is so expensive, so cardboard it is for me!! Thanks, Kari. Nicola xx
Thanks Nicola, foam packaging sounds like a great idea, but I have a lot of cardboard (as I tend to save every box that comes my way). I hope you find a cardboard one to be better for you!
Kari, where do u get your masks? Love this technique
Thanks Fran, I cut them out myself! 💗
This is a great idea!! I haven't seen it before. Thanks
Thanks Vicki! ❤️

Wonderful - thanks Kay! 🥰
Great idea! 👏👏👏Thanks
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it! 💗
What a great thing!! I love how the colours don't all get mushed up and you can still see them all!. Do you have a million brayers or do you wash the one?
Thanks Jane, yes, I do have a million brayers (well, three)🤣, but I do clean them a lot as I go. It works for me because I like to layer quite different colours! 💗
Thank you so much. I’ll definitely be making one
Thanks Pat, it's such a handy tool! 🥰
Great idea
Thank you very much Merrilyn! 😊💗
I should do this when i do reduction printing with lino😀
Yes, that's where I got the idea from! 😅
