Roland Juno-60 (1982) vs. Roland Juno-106 (1984) Analog Synthesizer with identical sound programs.
This video shows the different sound character. The Juno-60 sounds more raw like the JP-8 and the chorus is deeper.
The Juno-106 sounds more like the JX-8P but with more bass fundament and the chorus is not so deep.
both are great synths and I love both a lot.

The Roland Juno-106 Synthesizer from the year 1984 is a great analog synth with the typical 80s Roland sound. Often in the shadow of the brother JU-60 but the sound is different. Here can you find the full Juno-106 playlist with single sound demos and one synth demo tracks. Enjoy.

I own both and I just can't choose between them. The 60 does have what I would call a "juicier" sub osc. Really nice and squishy. For the 106, I'm reluctant to call it "colder" because of the negative connotations associated with that word. Yes, the 60 is "warmer" sounding, but the 106 is cold in a crystalline beauty kind of way. The 60 is the Sun and the 106 is the Moon. Perfect compliments. The JX-3P is also spectacular in its own right; to me it completes the Triforce :)
I’ll help you out. The 106 is not cooler or crystaline.. The Juno 106 sounds cheaper like a toy synth.
@@epicon6 Synth snob
@@jeffc1753 Synth knob
@@epicon6 Because I like the Juno 106? You have some serious issues to bully someone over something as innocent as that.
@@jeffc1753 Yea
The world would be a better place if we all played Synths. We wouldn't have time for war and destroying the planet. Only problem is. This guy has all the Synths, and wants to rule the world. it;s his masterplan. great vid Master.
Amen bro Amen.
thank you
Thank you. Love your videos. great stuff well done. I'm a huge fan.
:)))))
This guy is actually the inspiration for "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" by Tears for Fears. That's why they use so much synths in it!
You should lower the gain on Juno-60 because it's much louder than Juno-106 and due to that they sounds very different.
Yeah I was just dealing with a guy who thinks the 60 is much 'thicker' for that obvious reason. Heck they both have the same basic DCO design and filter parts and chorus pretty much..the EG is the main difference right? Probably there are different interstage caps here and there etc. but adjust the controls and you will get roughly the same sounds as the stepping is pretty good on the digital eg's on the 106.
Agreed. The tuning is different too. For a fair comparison both these synths need the internal calibration done so all oscillators and filters are set equally.
The sound of the 106 is much thinner and no volume boost can help with that.
@@oriomenoni7651 Yes, I had a 60 and my friend bought a 106. The 106 was stiffer. That all said and done, the 60 sounds superior in all areas. Though, I'd play the 106 if I had one.
I feel and believe the 106 has more of a digital synthwave sound too it which fits more in line with what we "think" when we picture 1980s flash, style, fashion, glitz, neon, grids, cyberpunk etc etc. the sound goes in tandem with that. and less of the analog warmth of pre 80s that the Juno 60 emits more of.
Attention Roland!! Bring back the Juno 60!! No wait, if they did it would only have 12 mini keys on it and be the size of a smart phone.... nevermind, bad idea....
+synthartist69 - People used to say, "when is Roland gonna make another Jupiter-8 or SH-101" And so they mocked us and made these little silly things the size of a shoe box that don't even have proper MIDI.
redirishmanxlt they do sound great though.
Spazzoid Studio you mean those digital ones?
And they did... "The Juno 60 was re-imagined and re-released by Roland in 2019 as the JU-06A" (4-voice though, should be 04a)
@@flexliv That thing sounds ok and looks great, too bad it wasn't full size with at least 6 voices.. ugh
I have a 106 sitting directly above a 60 and I did this exact comparison just a few weeks ago. The raw DCOs sound completely identical. And overall you can tell that the two synths are very, very close but the 106 sounds more 'glassy' and the 60 sounds a little more 'crackly' to my ear. The 106 also has the bass boost on the HPF, which is very obvious when trying to mimic sounds on both.
They both sound beautiful but different enough that I feel that I'd miss either of them.
Side note: I also had a JP6 for several years (sold it last spring) and I never loved it like I loved either of these. It was easier to fit into a mix but as an instrument I was simply never inspired by the sound. If Roland would've put the same chorus and bass boost on the JP6 that the 106 has I'm confident that it would be a classic like the JP8. Anyway...
Seems like you need good control monitors, sorry.
106 sounds smoother. 60 has a bit more analog bite to it. I prefer the 106.
The Yamaha DX7 can’t do this
That’s why Junos go for $2,000 - $3,000 nowadays
Why do I like the 106 better? The 60 is a little richer, but the 106 sounds somehow more "modern". The 106 sounds a little more open and smooth.
I like the 106 better too, had both and the sound of the 106 is beautiful. The 60 is a bit rough sounding at times when you don't want it to be.
Same here. The 106 sits much better in the mix and doesn't require as much EQing.
"106 sounds somehow more "modern"" "The 60 is a bit rough sounding" Excuse but isn't it just what people want with these vintage synths = richer, rough and not modern sound. 60 has absolute better vintage sound and it's more analogish. If you want a clean and modern sound, go with the DCO or virtual analog synths.
Juno 106 sounds like every plugin wish to sound, that is why you see 106 in every professional studio
@@jussivalter Because in person the 106 while having plenty of vintage juice, sounds farther back and distant. You get the best of both worlds without even trying. I have both and love both. The 106 sounds modern but still sounds better than most modern synths. The bass depth on the 106 is deep and wide, on the 60 it's snappier. Two 106's together: the strings pour like honey. The strings on a 60 have that Jupiter 8 like gloss and sheen. But even with one 106 I can get the Sixes and Sevens Robert Plant sound.
I owned both of these. I bought the 106 because it had better midi. But the sound of the juno 60 was fatter. I like Dark Horseman's comments.
Apart from the sound, I think the Juno-60 is much nicer looking, in fact one of the most beautiful synthesizers.
I had them both, the juno 60 was always the best of them. It was the midi that gave 106 advantage. Great video, memories....
:))
The Juno 60 sounds more richer and powerful than the 106. to my ears. I have the 106.Sound different.
Deeper sound from the 60. But both sound exquisite.
yes
Why did I ever get rid of my old 106? Well, I remember now. The pots got dirty and I didn't have the wherewithal to clean them at the time and once the battery went dead and it lost its mind, I couldn't recover it. As I remember, you could save patches off line via some sort of taping mechanism (some modem/sound to cassette kind of thing). And I never saved any of the patches to tape. But for 8 years I it was with me on various "stages" in various dive bars on the New Jersey coast. Thanks for the memories!
Which bars in which towns?
But....The Juno 60 has an arpeggiator !
Pretty good comparison! There are definitely sonic differences, but it’s not the night-and-day differences the nerds like to argue. Almost every patch here could be manipulated with a little EQ to sound like the other synth.
I have a 106 and I just had an opportunity to buy a Juno-6, but I think I’m not going to bother.
thank you :)
Well, As this is a nicely produced clip, I feel the need to comment that it is BORING. Not only is there NO one letting the viewing audience know what the heck you are trying to do--just playing 3 chords was Nothing to me . WHY, ? Because I have owned both synths while I was ON THE ROAD GIGGING F/T. I always, and still do, think the Juno 60 had more bite, more BALLS than the 106 ! I only bought UP, so i thought, only because of he MiDi connections. The 106 still sounded cheezy even w/ the bells & whistles added. I wanted a ballzy synth to perform "JUMP"; the Finale Countdown was another. The Juno 60 always seemed a more heavily built machine. These observations are only MINE. U all may disagree yet, for the $1,100 cash I laid out in '83 for my "60" I had a hellava lot more fun. Thanks for reading me.
I wonder if you ever considered putting some overdrive on the 106? Anyhow, yes the 60 is harmonically richer as is.
Those filter sweeps Reminds me of watching old 80$ B movies 🍿 on Hulu through the internet for free on my laptop while connected to a flat screen HDMI port before they sold out to big greedy companies like Disney the current owner
Thank you 🙌
Super interesting. Thank you. Interesting at 6.30 the 106 sounds both more wide and full. We are of course all audiophiles splitting hairs here. One reader with a 6 makes interesting comments, I'm just wondering, if we substitute the 60 for a 6, are we on even keel so to speak? I like the cut of your jib!
Someone just gave me Jupiter 8 and juno 106. I don't know what these even are, (some type of organ) so if someone would like to have them, they can. 50$ each.
Is the offer still up?
Is this for real?
I will take
Seems legit...
I know it's been a couple years, but am curious if anyone purchased the Jupiter 8 and the Juno 60. I have no idea what they are either and thought they resembled the Yamaha PSR something or another I had years back. Figured I'd buy one of them for my nephew as a birthday present. He was heartbroken when the big fat and heavy Yamaha "CS-80" or something like that his parents had was put on the tree lawn at their house. It was defective apparently because whenever they tried to play one of those "chord thingies" and pressed the keys hard, it changed the sound and all types of weird distortions started happening.
Those both sound beautiful to me.
+gandolphcarter both are great synths. agree with you.
the juno 106 always took my heart, it was made on cheaper budget than a 60 and it made great sound for its price, i just like the way it sounded, it kinda sounded less warm but it was so different from the rest. Dont hate me but i like the juno (6/60/106) series more than jupiter series
I love all of these comparison videos you do! I've owned both of these machines but now just have a Juno-6. I've always loved these synths for their individual characters but I lean heavily towards the 60 although, one thing I really enjoyed about the 106 is it always seemed to have a little better definition in the bass. Loved them both...and my 6. :) Great videos! and THANK YOU!
+polyneux74 agree with you. both are great synths with own character.
thank you!
I don't understand how a synth with just one DCO and a sub oscillator can sound so fat while also remaining so smooth. I've tried to dial in patches on other "better" or more advanced polysynths to replicate Juno sounds and it's either too crunchy or harsh or thin or dark. Juno definitely has its limitations, but there is some kind of internal sorcery going on.
The chorus is the magic.
I currently have a Kiwi 106 . I've owned 2 x Juno 6's in the past. Some differences: The 6 /60 have an extra modulation mode in that the PWM can be modulated by the envelope, which is not on the 106. It also has the arpeggiator and the 2 chorus speeds can be used simultaneously, neither available on the 106.
On the other hand the 106 has Midi by default, poly-portamento and a powerful facility where you can have all 6 DCO's in unison. This is unlike running 6 vco's in unison because the digital control locks them so tightly that they give a unique fat sound, great for lead or bass, but interesting to play polyphonically by harmonising or sampling!
Nice, I am going Kiwi myself and the 106 voice chip cleanse process. VST’s sound nice these days and all that noise but the real thing just feels so good and I don’t need the computer. If I had to purchase a 106 in today’s market perhaps I would stick with a Cherry VST or something of the sort but I am much happier combining the real deal with my outboard effects and other midi gear before hitting the Digital world. I must admit that the VST’s have pretty much caught up in details and sound quality; obviously surpassing features and functions. Kiwi really brings things up to speed and keeps me from selling a load of vintage gear because there are some crazy good units to choose from in the modern world. The Juno just looks , feels and sounds so familiar it’s hard to resist loving it despite the quirks.
I have my Juno-60 since 1983. Still in perfect order. I would never part from it! That sound, that filter. Awesome.
wish i still had mine from the same year. :(
@@grungebox Thanks to you I saw this comment, it´s 7 years old... and my Juno is still going strong 😊. Next year she will turn 40...
The 60 sound to me seems to have a much richer/punchy deeper sound than the 106. I would have the 60 over the 106 based on what I have just heard on this short clip.
+Lee Hayes I've had both and the 106 was much more useful and much nicer to use. Still got the 106. Only thing I prefered about the 60 was the fast punchy arp/envs but for everything else the 106 was the more musical (of course they can both sound very close to each other also but push the 106 and it's a bit sweeter than the 60), the portamento is NICE, the LFO is faster on the 106 and the 2nd poly mode is perfect for fast sequencing. Both good though but the 106 is love the 60 is just nice (for me).
quarkyzarky Thanks for the feed back. I felt the clip probably did not do the 106 enough justice as it was quite short and you cannot always get a solid sound preview on youtube. I remember them both years ago but cannot remember them in detail. The only Roland I currently have is the Integra 7 which is very nice as a rack mounted synth and a bunch of other top end synths in my music studio. My first synth was the Roland SH101 which was my first synth love and introduction to the sound of electronic synths.
Lee Hayes Yeah I've also had an SH-101 (a couple in fact), the JX-3P and Juno 106 remain my favourite of the cheaper Roland analogs (out of all Junos, JX's and SH-101). Can't speak of the Jupiters much, never had an 8 sadly but I used a 6 and still preferred the 3P and 106 combo! :)
Dude, take a minuit and listen to the sub oscillator mode, both a beauty.
I will I am always open to second opinions and others advice :)
Thanks for the vid. Very nice playing and sounds. It's really not possible to pick a favorite but in general I find the Juno 60 deeper and the 106 more present. They are both ridiculously spacey sounding synths.
yes. thank you for watching

interesting demo marko, thanks! i would have to agree the 60 is a bit warmer but the 106 does have a distinctive sound that is different to the 6/60. it sounds slightly wider in the stereo field even with the chorus off
+mik300z yes the chorus is very different but both synths sounds fantastic with own character.

Juno 60 for me. It has a nice warm sound.
I’m sorry I play mostly guitar and sing. But the juno 60 sounds magical to me. On its own that is. In a production I dont know.
It's no mystery why the eighties are actually timeless
Always prefered sound of 60 over 106, but it doesn't make 106 sound bad :)
+TheEquinoxeHD agree with you
+TheEquinoxeHD I had the 60, I prefer the sound of the 106. It's somehow more yeilding. The 60 had faster attack but doesn't sound as open as the 106 (I also prefer the faster LFO on the 106)
+quarkyzarky i agree. I have the juno 106 and i find that it sounds lighter and more open than the 60. the 60 is definitely richer but its a bit too dense for me and i think the 106 sits better in the mix of psychedelic style songs with bass, guitar, drums, vocals.
+TheEquinoxeHD The 106 is smoother and a tad sweeter. More open and easy on the ears. The 60 gets down with it's almighty envelope. Juno love all the way around.
I found 106 more interesting as it has sound of it's own
it's obvious that the 60 has a sub-frequency oscillator that varies between -078 and +135. Despite the modulation impact and the envelope slide quints, the apparent rendering of the wave thumbs remains moot. Judging from a listen to this, the sesame seed dispersion theory appears to be relative to the endoscopic noodle flow.
eleven synthz in back . . id keep the j60, j106, and the j8 . . and sell the rest!!!!
Isn't any of these 2 used in the track "Love like blood" by Killing Joke? Oh man I miss those days. Best time of my life, the 80-ies. Feel like an old bum today.
Oberheim OB-X
every now and than i hear similar sounds compared to the d50, i love the roland sound from the 80s!!!!!
Wow...such difference...the Juno 106 sounds like someone but a blanket over the oscillators.
It’s true that the dynamics are not as rich and I think this is part to do with the clock and some other circuit differences. I don’t think this video is balanced volume wise and once you put an eq, limiter, compressor, effects on either one things change drastically. The 60 has more lower midrange content which shows up on a crappy phone. Part of the 60allure is more movement in the waveforms. I will stick with the 106 and effects but on its own the 60 is juicy.
106 for looks
60 for sound
6 for life
6 for life? But you can't save any sounds. :/
J-6 is considered the dirtiest of those 3
More grit = more life
The dirtier the better
:)
Arent Juno 6 and 60 identical inside except for the memory circuit?
Miguel d'Oliveira 6 & 60 are the same.
The 60 IMO, looks better....
Juno-106 seems a little dead/dull compared to Juno-6/60...and, of course, the arpeggiator got axed on the 106.
+xnonsuchx the JU-60 sounds more raw and wild in comparision to the JU-106
+xnonsuchx Not to mention, PWM by envelope is missing on 106. Can make a very small subset of sync-like sounds.
100DollarHeadache - Roland also removed proper PWM from the JX series, which I know irritated many people. It could be 'simulated' using OSC sync, from what I've heard, though.
The arpeggiator and "warmness" is one reason I kinda hate that the salesperson talked me into waiting for the 106. The 60 became very hard to find as soon as the 106 came out, and knowing what I know now, I woulda preferred the 60 and paid the ~US$200 for the DCB-MIDI converter.
+xnonsuchx Well since you brought it up, if you have a Super JX (JX10 or MKS70), you can now have all the PWM you want (among many other great features) with Fred Vecoven's new Super JX OS and PWM daughter boards. It's a game changer. ;)
www.vecoven.com/superjx/superjx.html
Damn the 60 is sounds so full and warm
+xCoolUsername :)
106 crushes it on bass at 6:34. That said, the 60 beats it in all around. seems best to have both as each is leagues ahead of the competition. i have tried all the boutiques and the 60 and 106 live and with very good headphones and ears in my opinion. the boutiques are cool but they just dont have the life a musician needs for writing songs from the heart. Maybe.... who know though just what i have gathered so far
You should do a tutorials on Take On Me and Time After Time, some classic Juno sounds!
+WAGSU2BE ua-cam.com/video/iKZeJr2dUIo/v-deo.html ;)
Did not know this, my band played Time After Time in '84 with my 60 I programmed and it nailed it. Now I know why it sounded so similar.
Juno-60 Has Balls Juno 106 smaller balls.
Both very good synths in there own right , thou the 106 doesnt sound as large as the 60 which is obviously due to some diffrences in circuitry. Great demonstration of the Juno's .
+Adamski Ajull thank you°!
+Adamski Ajull And yet in musical terms the 106 has made its way into thousands of released tracks by major artists, don't just listen to bare 1 V 1 tests, use them in music and you'll find the 106 is a much nicer, slightly more flexible instrument with glowing soft tone while the 60 tends towards a more static dustier tone that makes you wish for VCO (Polysix). A polysix + Juno 106 is much better combo.
Most importantly, the 106 is traditionally cheaper. My first analog poly will probably end up being a 106.
+Infra Violet I'd get either a Jx3p or Alpha juno if you don't need the sliders. The 106 has voice chip issues which is a PIA.
+maccagrabme yea I had to have my 106 chips de resined
Years later haha, you have tons of external midi options on the cheap now to control these old digital synths that came without knobs and sliders.
Well I wanted a Juno-60 but after this video I need to get both. Juno-60 for solo parts and Juno-106 for melodies and chords behind vocals :)
both are great
i used both of these and had some bias to the juno 60 but in a blindfold test the 106 is better in almost every way
Great demo! I toured with a band in the 80s that had a 106. I had an OB-8 and DX7; they often preferred me to use the 106 on their songs rather than my OB. They also had an MKS80; really nice setup. Its hard to pick between the 60 and 106; they sound different enough to me, but both appealing. Probably should have both! 😀
Thanks for sharing!
And the winner is-The alesis micron!Wait. what just happened?
I saw Roland Juno 106 on Miharu Koshi's Performances, Parallelisme and Decadence 120.

i really love the bass on the 106
:)
To me, I like the Juno-60 better. It sounds alot more beefier. A much fuller sound.
:)
60 sounds better alone, 106 sounds better in a mix.
Well put, sir!
And the 60 just looks so much more badass than the 106. I need one to add to my 106.
+JimBobJrJackson Earmonkey I prefer the look of the 106 and the size and feel, have had both. Don't miss the 60. The 60's keybed is a bit on/off too, the 106 feels smoother and more musical.
+quarkyzarky its all in the tweak
60 is King!
o yes :)
I love them both so much. Would really love a juno 60 some time. Sadly they are pretty hard to find nowadays.
+kikkirow yes both are great.
there is a Roland Juno 60 for sale on Guitar Center website

It looks really nice! I wish I could afford it but it's $1.1k. They should have more details in there.

:D
60 for the win. Much fatter and warm. Not to mention 106 doesn’t have the arpeggiator for the nail in the coffin.
The 106 has MIDI and you can arpeggiate through it any day. Ever mixed a 60? The 106 is much easier to put in a mix too.
Did the juno 106 have stereo outputs? I'm under the impression the Juno 60 was a mono chorus. One site says that the 106 has a 'pseudo-stereo'. Thanks.
106 stereo out
@@frankstetka7206 What makes it pseudo stereo?
Those both sound beautiful to me,jUNO 106 -ARPEGGIATOR?????no....
MIDI? Yes. I arpeggiate through it.
Of course the Juno 60 sound better, it has Roland's legendary IR3109 filter. The Juno 106 has 80017a. To put that into perspective here are the other Roland synths that have the IR3109, Jupiter-6, Jupiter-8, Juno-6, SH-101, MC-202, JX-3p.
Intersting how the SH-101 is the most coveted of the "SH" range, and also the only one that has the IR3109.
redirishmanxlt the 101 is great, but not sure I'd agree it's the most coveted of the SH's. The SH-5 and 7 sell for a lot more
I stand corrected, wow! I'm familiar with the SH-02 (plug-out), SH-09 and SH-101, so I though they were all 1 or 2 Osc mono synths. But the SH-5 and SH-7 look pretty bad ass, but of course the SH-01 GAIA is my personal favorite!
60!!!!EVER!
Der Juno-60 war DER Synthesizer für Jungle / Drum'N'Bass. Mörder-Bass.
+Logansix jep :)
doesn't the killer bass come from the 106's Unison mode, which the 60 doesn't have? Killer bass also comes from S950 / S1000 test tone, 808, & 101
good demo thanks! I have both and like mark thomas below I find you can get the basic oscillator sounds to be identical but once you start tweeking knobs they are a little different. i find similar to mark but instead of "the 106 sounds more 'glassy' and the 60 sounds a little more 'crackly' to my ear" I would describe the 106 as more watery and splashy- particularly when the resonance is oscillating (glassy is good too but might get some to visualize it different than it is) and the 60 is more woody sounding- its noticeable but not dramatic IMO. You can get a passable B 3 sound out of the 60- I have a 50's B3 to compare to and its not quite as good on the 106. One does not stomp all over the other like people claim- big difference is do you want an apeggiator or portamento.
+lollar jason thanks :)
+lollar jason Same here (had both still got the 106), I found the 60's tone a bit 'wooden' and dusty which for me was a bit too dated for my music, while the 106 can sound old or newer and fits into a mix much better and can sound a touch more contemporary.
juno 60 is warmer than 106
I have the JU-6 & never realised how different they are. The 106 has a 'fizzier' filter that seems to lose some bottom end when the resonance is increased. All three great though.
+Alan Currall yes the 106 lose the low end when the resonance is increased but the 106 sub bass is fantastic. all classic Junos are fantastic synths.
+RetroSound I never heard it this much but the 106 just loses all the oomph it's got when you turn up the resonance, kinda weird... I like the 60's sound more... 106 is way too sharp.
+Alan Currall 106 has WAY MORE bottom end than the 60! please don't judge from this SIMPLE test alone! I've had all the junos too (inc the shitty alphas) and the 106 is the absolute best all rounder. Why do you think Roland made the boutique (ugh) version of the 106 not the 60! The 106 is prolific in released records due to a more yielding, flexible tone with beautiful bass end and shimmering mids, the 60's main coolness is fast envs for fast arps/bass but in real music applications I bet you'd find the 106 far better as an all rounder along with other instruments/guitars in a mix. It also feels nicer (somehow softer and nicer to the touch) and also is sized just right, the 60 is a bit too chunky and retro looking while the 106 looks smart and eye catching.
I know I've written quite a few counter comments on this video but I feel it's doing the 106 a big disservice because it's not really showing the synths playing to either of their strengths in a musical context. Most of that stuff you hear is chopped out in a mix anyway, but the 106 retains more texture where you need it, more air, more glow. The 60 sounds quite unrefined by comparison and also more static.
+quarkyzarky Thanks for your words of wisdom on the matter. I look forward to watching your all videos and listening to your prolific recordings demonstrating all the valuable points you've made in these comments.
+quarkyzarky Oh, you're that quarkyzarky! Sorry, I didn't realise. Love your work.
good demo thanks!

As far as i can hear, the 60 has more depth.
Being able to tell them apart doesn't frankly make me like one less than the other. I wouldn't discriminate too much. If a 106 fell in my lap, I would appreciate having the one with MIDI. If a 60 fell in my lap, I would just as much appreciate having the one that many people prefer. If I must have it with MIDI, I would search for an MD8 or some such DCB-MIDI converter.
hey some advice, do you think i should buy both the 106 and 60 together. as its 2 different tones.. not sure if i should just get the 60?? please help...
hi! there was a way to save sounds conbinations on the juno 106....i cant remember...it was with the write a nd manual but i dont know ....can you help me please???
the full chorus on either of them is the sound of heaven. so dreamy

Both lovely synths can't choose.
Keys a Jammin!
Man... I thought I always wanted a 106 but now I might go for the 60!
Vielen Dank!
+JUKE179r haha ;)
+JUKE179r I prefered the 106, don't believe all you hear until you try them both. The 60 felt kinda static and basic the 106 feels like honey... I love the 106.
@@quarkyzarky if you want more vintage and analog warm and fat sound, 60 definetly is better. 106 sounds more like modern DCO synths.
I have the 6 and agree it sounds more vintage, but I want pads for house & d&b and there's something the 106 does better there, smoother airy pads which I can't quite replicate on the 6. Both sound amazing
Very useful vid - thanks!
:)
Superb comparison video!
Glad you liked it!
Best wishes :)

Wow danke für diesen Vergleich. Was ein Unterschied
+Torben Anschau gerne! :)
+RetroSound If I'm not mistaken it looks like your Juno-60 has four toggle switches on the back panel next to the outputs - is that a mod of some sort?
+James Meagher yes a secret mod. ;)
Could you demo unison mode on the Juno 60 sometime?
Cool
