I like how they designed the wide handle to not interfere as much with the interior. I don’t love packing within the grooves of luggage personally… but I think for the style and price I’d prefer a Briggs and Riley. I bring a personal item to stack on top and don’t want to buy a separate belt or item for that to work so that’s a no go for me. Briggs and Riley puts their handles on the outside so packing inside the case is always flat so I’ve been wanting to give them a try and since the price points between these two are so high and similar it doesn’t make much sense to go with this there’s no real wow features in my opinion. I would have liked this case to at least offer compression.. thanks for your review I was curious about this brand and now I know it’s a no from me! :) luxury price points with a the only extra being a paper holder is a bit wild to me… glad to hear they do have a good warranty customer service is a huge plus!
I love this suitcase. Recently got a truck style Open Story luggage and I love the closure .
I’ve been wanting to check that one out!
I like the wide handle for it makes packing easier and the mobility factor. I don3t like it doesn't allow for bags to fit over the sleeve. I think Level 8 is missing an opportunity to create bags that fit this type of handle. I don't want to fuss with one of those bag belts. BTW just received my new Beis carry-on yesterday. I love it!
I don't mind the price and don't mind the wide handle, I can work around that. But, the lack of handle on the top and the weight make it a no for me. I'm a small, not young woman (I'm only 5'2") so lifting that even in and out of a car would be hard.
Same here. I'm only 5 feet tall and on the down swing to 60 years old. Lightweight carry-on luggage is paramount for me. I have a July Light carry-on and a Heys Astro carry-on. Love them both!
That was one of the first things that caught my eye. They're trying to be sleek and sexy but how the heck are you supposed to pull it out of the bin?!?
Did Level 8 send you the luggage to review? Because I am not sure then sending you a replacement so easily is necessarily indicative of the service a regular customer might receive.

I would not buy wide handled luggage since my items with a pass thru would not fit thru, By the way, I ordered a July Light suitcase last night! I rewatched your video about them first. July is having a sale this weekend.

The wide handle looks interesting and really like how flush it is with the top but there's not a grab handle on top so I wonder how much that takes away from being able to move the bag in and out of overhead and quickly picking up the bag when needed.
In my opinion not putting grab handles on the sides and top is a serious miscalculation on this design! Perhaps they plan to sell a suction cup apparatus to help you pull this out from the bin?!

I like your review Lauren! I’m still not impressed with the lining…and lack of compression panel. The monos still impresses me more. I have one full aluminum luggage which is MVST… great review, still, I’m not going to run out and spend $700 on this suitcase… I wish MVST Trek would work with you. You would do an excellent job and increase their sales… I paid around $400 for that suitcase… which is quite expensive to me… oh well!
Got this one in black, should of gotten the silver one because it stands out more

The wide handle does seem to present a problem with all of the personal items we’ve procured I think….also, congrats on acquiring a silver Monos Hybrid carryon…I noticed the addition in the background during your video!
It’s the plus! I got it to compare all of the monos bags. I think that’s the one we’re going to travel with against this one for aluminum vs hybrid
Pros IMO
- wide handles or easier to steer and do not obstruct the interior with the handle rails
- integrated latches
- zipperless! I am so incredibly glad that zipperless is becoming a thing .. my favorite piece of luggage is my grandmother's leather old school leather train suitcase with brass latches ( I still have it but I never travel with it) and latches over zippers makes sense in a myriad of ways
- even amount of space on equal halves
Cons IMO
- (deal-breaker) no grab handles on sides are top, just how are you supposed to pull this out of the bin?!?
- the weight .. if I ever decide to pick up a Rimowa I will deal with the weight but I'd rather have a hybrid at this point
- egads, that black material on the top looks like solar panels .. hideous!
- too slick facade.. once a well-traveled Rimowa shows a few scuffs and scratches its patina..... but I fear this flat vs ribbed surface is just going to look like a tic-tac-toe board after a few trips

I look forward to your return video once you and Brian have switched between the hybrid and this aluminum body. If only you had a third person in your party who could carry a convertible backpack expedition bag. In my opinion I know who would win that one but I'm not sure between just these first two options! I do have a feeling lightweight is going to win over this aluminum carry on.
_And please remember if the flight attendant offers to stow this at the front of the cabin that would probably be wiser than having it above your head in case one hits turbulence! Squared corners and heavy aluminum..I'm just saying_

I found this bag when they weren’t even selling it yet, just announced it, went to buy to finally and since I last looked, the price is now $1099! They are not rimowa, I won’t be purchasing.
i would not buy the wide handle , I don’t,t like the look of it and the fact that I cannot slide my bag pack over it
