It's fun but it seems that without being pocketed you'll die, he has 0 self sustain and his defense move slows you.
It'd be great if vortex and annihilation gave some selfhealing

He is mega vulnerable without strong healers. He takes a TON of damage when he goes into punch form, everyone looks at him.

So I was thinking about what might help that and maybe an escape ability would work. Like maybe blocking hits increases his movement speed for a few seconds after so he can easily disengage.
@@EHyde-ir9gb But that also means with heals he can abuse that to chase people down VERY hard.
Now hear me out. The move is a panic button, so what if it increased backwards movement speed, thus also allowing you to weave in and out of range, swapping between defensive and aggressive like they intended. Would allow you to play around some character's ranges, makes it so that you can't just use it to rush people down, while still giving you your panic button.
I’ve learned that with weaker healers, you only go omnic form unless the other team is weak. And you can get those last few punches in.
As a Zenyatta main, I will transce Ramattra ults on general principle. We become invincible roll machines!

A lot of people complain about ramattras ult being not that creative or unique, I think it is one of the coolest they have, it also contributes to the parallel between Ramattra and Zenyatta. Zenyatta’s ult gives a burst of healing in an area while ramattras does a burst of damage within area for a certain amount of time. It feels like a good ult to give him considering Zenyatta and the lore between the two.
Not Burst, AoE HoT and DoT, Heal over Time and Damage over Time. A Burst would be like a DVa Bomb. One blast of whatever it does.
Anyone complaining about the ult isn't complaining about the lore implications or theme

@@dontknow3949 What's wrong with his ult? It doesn't feel strong to me tbh, in fact I haven't died to it. Anyone with mobility can move faster than Ram, it needs direct line of sight to hit you and it doesn't do that much damage if you're not also taking damage from another source. Is he immune to CC or something during it? if that's the case I could probably understand the some of the complaints

I predict when Sojourn is no longer for sale, if you think about it, just leaving her that strong will not be as encouraging to spend even more on the future DPS characters that will then also release as broken.

Rammatra is a lot of fun. Playing him reminds me of when I first started playing OW.
I remember my first game with a good Zen. I didn't know who that hero was, but he kept killing me and the killcam looked so satisfying. So I tried him out, and it felt so good. He was a hard hero to learn, but the satisfaction in getting headshots and one shot kills turned me into a Zen main. I feel like Rammatra is similar. He is quite hard to use effectively, but man does it feel good to do work on him.
I like the part where you put your barrier 10 meters behind the enemies for the 38th time.

Ramattra can be brutal to play against (emphasis on can), but as some people have already said, he basically needs to be pocketed to be effective. Combined with his complete lack of mobility and slow projectile speed, this makes him particularly easy to whittle down with medium- and long-ranged characters. I personally feel like he could maybe have some shield added to his health to make him somewhat more forgiving when playing with, say, DPS Moiras
Tank isn’t even my Best Role, but Rammatra has been such a fun hero to play and is by far my best Tank Stat Wise!

The problem with him is, he’s very very weak without mercy constantly behind him. His shield should’ve been way longer active… there are a few problems with him that needs to be fixed, but tbh it’s still reall fun, especially his voice lines, love them.
Legit, Mercy is not enough for him. You need Moira, Baptiste, Ana or Kiriko's 70+ heals per second, not Mercy's 44. Mercy can't afford to babysit a tank all game and that's exactly what Ram needs.

Tbh it’s sad they gave us such a great tank with so much potential and didn’t think of buffing him at least a little bit more.. i like his voice actor, his story and the way he is presented and his abilities are also good, however they would’ve been absolutely insane if they all had been worked on a little more, like why give him a shield if it doesn’t even last that long ? Why call him a tempo tank if he isn’t that fast.. he could’ve been on the damage team tbh, cause you can simply sit back and attack everyone, but a tank needs to be up front you know ? All tanks can afford to get some damage, but the fact when he gets some damage, he immediately dies.. I really hope they work on him, but like I said it’s still great to play him and the new maps are also dope

There’s a lot of moments in this video that you wipe the enemy team and have like, 4-5 seconds of nemesis form left. It may be worth cancelling nemesis form early in those situations, so that it goes on cool-down faster, as the cool-down only starts when nemesis form ends.
This. Anytime I get a pick or two I revert back to get it back on cooldown sooner unless I need the extra health

I really like his dual mode gameplay. I'm a bit worried that they're going to over buff him to make him really strong. Overall I really find him really fun to play.
I feel his shield needs to last longer like Winston or shorter cooldowns. Maybe give him chasing ms buff or 10% ms buff while in nemesis form so he's not too reliant on lucio and reduce his ms debuff when blocking. His ravenous vortex should have infinite vertical hitbox. He feels underpowered compare to other tanks.
I feel that to make him a perfectly balanced tank they need to allow him to recall the shield for a halved cool down. Other than that, I have no actual complaints on Ram besides maybe increasing the travel speed of his vortex and increasing its duration slightly.
@@TheGloomwave The recall would need a stipulation, probably involving damage threshholds. Because if you just get a flat reduction for calling it back, you just call it right before it fades or dies every time, and the buff just becomes "Half the cooldown".
@@Sassaparilla It would function the same as sigmas shield except the difference being Rams is always on the ground and sigmas is a mobile shield.

I’d imagine most of the top 500/grandmasters level players probably know each other well and have played with/against each other a lot. Also, I imagine most of them generally aren’t openly toxic on comms like in lower ranks because everyone actually knows what they’re doing.
He's in either a 5 or 4 stack team from memory :) I watched yesterday - they did this so each round each one could have a turn on the new character.
Just a note, if people know they're against streamers, they tend to be quiet, as people caught hacking or being extremely toxic in streamer content is often found quickly, and thus, they get banned pretty quick as well.

He’s actually way balanced. What makes him way balanced is that when he goes Tank mode, his shield disappears. That’s the ticket of what makes him weak.

i'm a support/mercy main and i used to play comp a lot but never do anymore, it got way too toxic for me to be enjoyable, but i'm low-mid silver. and ever since ram came out i have lost almost if not every game ive played where he was our tank. granted, this is quick play- however, every time we lost it was because the enemy tank was *not* playing ramattra. we basically got stomped if they were playing literally any other tank. i cant shit on people who play ramattra too bad because it is quick play, but i think it just goes to show how vital your tank is to winning the game. i was in a game with an amazing ana and two really good dps, however, we could do literally nothing because our tank, ram, was getting destroyed by their doom. i'm sure this experience would be different if i were to play competitive, but i feel like this beginning stage of everyone wanting to play ram/not being very good at him are going to be painful time.
i do wanna say i don't hate the hero, i think hes really cool- think he could be better, but i think hes cool. this isnt at all me trying to be like "you can't play the new hero even in qp >:((" i play qp because i like not feeling like winning/losing is super important, i go into that knowing that ppl are not gonna be trying their hardest or playing heroes they're bad at. i think its just kind of interesting how this made me see just how vital tanks are to the outcome of the game. it also is, to be fair, a little frustrating as a support player when all your efforts are wasted bc your tank is just getting destroyed
Yup, I flex between tank and support a lot, and a good tank can change a match completely. Ramattra is very gimmicky and people are getting used to him, but I believe that with the right practice and team organization, he can do big damage. He's kind of like JQ or Doom before the buff; they are incredibly fun to play, but they can't "tank" as easily as other heroes
Honestly the problem is that Ram just takes too much damage for Mercy, he absolutely needs one of the main healers to pocket him while he's making plays, and Mercy's 44 heals per second just isn't going to cut it. Gotta have the 70+ heals per second (and access to support cooldowns) from Ana, Baptiste, Kiriko or Moira or else he just falls apart before he can get anything done.

Btw i got a tipp with ramattra idk why no one has noticed this before when your in nemesis mode and you have your ult and you wanna use ult cancle nemesis first and the activate ult anf get that extra 150 armor and the ult goes down u have nemesis again for another 150 armor
due to his barrier being on a time limit I don't think it should also have a damage limit, or at least not one that's as low as it currently is. A barrier with no damage limit but a short duration and a long cooldown that doesn't start until after it's cancel or runs out would be cool. Kinda like defence matrix but different and stationary

I don´t think they´ll booost supports. The removal of stuns, the removal of one tank. They kinda want fast pace battles and more movement. Increasing supports would just stall this.

Funny after all the original talk of “oh he is gonna be so OP” then to “ah man his abilities barely do anything he’s overrated” at least to me he actually feels pretty balanced or right in the middle of tank tier list. Tank v tank he has some hard counters (road hog ,zarya doomfist somewhat) but also counters some too (Dva, sigma, junkerqueen) while Winston orisa and Hammond are toss ups . As far as dps a lot of people said bastion tears him up but I’ve been doing really good against them I just stay in my normal form and put up the shield and it seems to work, junkrats thou can be a problem

he is available in No Limits modes even if you don't have the battle pass, though you'll probably have 4 more of him on your team

Accidently buffing Doom a bit too much I can forgive but buffing a hero that's already top 3 DPS in the game is just stupid.
(Looking at the numbers might make it look like a nerf but thinking about them will make you realize it's just a buff in disguise.)
Still not sure how I feel about rammatra besides him being fun. He can kill but he doesn't at all feel like a tank, doesn't really soak up damage, not really survivable, but my God when you coordinate with your team he's DANGEROUS
Brig, Lucio, Hanzo/Genji, and another DPS but likely junkrat or Valkyrie would probably be a good set up with rammatra.
Zen also fucks shit up paired with Ram. Trance when Ram pops his ult and just run into the other team. It works surprisingly well.

I was hoping he had some revenge/retribution meter he could charge up from receiving damage to fit with him being kind of a martyr lore-wise…if they ever consider reworking him in the distant future I think that would be cool

Think he's like Junker Queen where they're both really fun to play, but also feel like much weaker versions of tanks already in the game. Hope they can get a little bit of a boost considering how game changing Kiriko and Sojourn have been so far
He's fun but weak.
Vortex is necessary to confirm any kills but only has a sub 25% uptime. Otherwise he's going to stand around watching his team die, or get blown up trying to be impactful much of the time. He also just doesn't really win against any tanks as is and is easy Hog/Orisa/Rein food while divers just go around him and squish his team.
Vortex radius and CD could probably use some positive tuning, and barrier CD could probably see 50% uptime or more to help him out.

I think they need to buff his projectile speed and when he is in nemesis form he needs to get a slight speed increase. Overall pretty well balanced tho. Sadly hog is just op and the other tanks got some form of mobility to be more viable than him. I feel him and orisa are stuck in the same spot. Zero mobility.
