Apologies for the lateness with this upload! This review kept getting claimed and blocked in a ridiculous number of territories, so I had to keep re-editing it to make sure that it would be at a standard that I was happy with. It is unfortunately still blocked in a few places, but I didn't want to cut out actual commentary. I will definitely try to revisit this in a more 'claiming bot friendly way' if you guys are interested! Thank you all for your support! 🦇

Well presented and clear. Looking forward to more videos... even though I have different opinions about this movie. It's a big laugh to rewatch and a lot of the concepts are interesting compared to the monolithic special effects driven movies out there today that keeps me out of the cinemas.

i'm glad that you enjoyed the video! minus joking around, i try to see some 'good' even in the worst movies, and to be honest, this was a difficult one! 😂

I think that the biggest problem with 'Dutch Angle: A Scientology Story' is that it's based on an outdated book.
Before watching this video, I already had a vague idea that this book was based on one of L. Ron Hubbard's novels before he started a cult, but I expected it to be from the 60's, not from the 80's.
The plot has some really interesting concepts but it feels kind of generic when you compare with other works that came before, such as: Asimov's Foundation, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep ?, Planet of the Apes, Frank Herbert's Dune, Star Trek, Star Wars, HG2G, Alien; So making an adaptation of it a blockbuster would not be so easy, unless the screenwriters were able to adapt the story into something interesting or engaging or at least be just another generic sci-fi, action movie with some creative direction.

'dutch angle: a scientology story' 😂 yeah i haven't read the book so i can't really attest to the quality of the original story, but it seems like overall, this movie was really ambitious while not actually taking too many risks.

One thing has always bothered me about this waste of a movie; who was the body in the freezer that Turel was putting his gold stash in? What was the point of that???
Edit: Waaaait. Nooooooo. That WAS Barry in The Green Mile?!?
....I don't know how to handle this given I actually LIKE The Green Mile legit. How the heck-???
And hey. You can argue that Turel was able to get so far up the ladder despite being a fool thanks to nepotism so...maybe that was the message? XD
