Max truly is just one of the best people. Working at Disney I see him around from time to time. I got introduced to him by my manager once and mentioned remembering him from his portrayal of Mr Collins and he seemed so genuinely happy that this character was so memorable to me. I’m glad to see him come back here for this series too 💕
My little sister, who is ten years younger than me, just watched all of LBD over the course of the weekend (at the same age I was when I watched it as it came out, ten years ago!). She was in the tech crew for a Pride and Prejudice play that her school put on recently, and we've been essentially binging the different P&P adaptations (the book itself, BBC P&P, LBD, and 2005 P&P). My little sister loved LBD and all the fascinating and brilliant ways the characters and situations were modernized (although she did clock the series as being "very 2012" 😂). And she, like so many others, rightfully appreciated how adorable our Mr. Collins is and how his character traits were adapted to forward the narrative so uniquely and yet still so faithfully.
We'll miss you on the Look Back Diaries and the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, Maxwell!
Also recommend the Bollywood remake Bride and Prejuduce!
@@ebeth5891 That one's so fun! My mom was also telling me about a Hindi TV show version she watched growing up called Trishna, I'm excited to keep adding adaptations on to the list!
It's crazy to think that this is Mr. Collin's last appearance on the show (it feels like it's so early!). I do remember that he had at least one more transmedia appearance (pictures, maybe on twitter?) right at the end of the series which was a hilarious little wrap-up.
Yes, the pictures on Twitter of Collins interrupting Lizzie's celebration evening. Darcy's FACE during that series of tweets was priceless!
Aww sad it is the last Max episode. It would be fun to have a grand celebration at the end of the rewatch 100.

Yeah I’m glad Mr Collins didn’t change too much. His boundless enthusiasm and his obliviousness are kinda tied together so working on the obliviousness nice and gradually hopefully means he can stay the bright, enthusiastic person that we all love 😊

Definitely not the last we see of Max in LBD (transmedia FTW!) or in the Pemberley-verse (the EA revival!). He's by far the only Collins I've rooted for despite his... eccentricities. :D Kudos to Max and the writers for taking a completely unlikeable character and turning him into an adorable teddy bear. Will miss Max on the Look Back.
Edited to add: Mr Collins is DEFINITELY not in Winnipeg anymore! He's wherever EA was set - San Francisco, maybe? I dunno.
I recognised Max from School of Thrones (along with MKW of course) - he's forever a Baratheon to me.
As a Canadian, I can confirm we do like our Tim Hortons!!!!
it would be fun if for the final episode or after the final episode to have a lbd extravaganza of sorts where you bring back multiple guests together at the same time. maybe as a patreon thing
It feels too soon to see Collins go but I appreciate that he’s brought up later. We loved seeing Max Ashley!
I made sure to tell all my masters students about LBD when I was teaching them about transmedia! It was fun to be able to get to share LBD with them :D

This show got me into Jane Austen
As a Canadian living in the UK who gets ecstatically excited every time they announce the opening of a new Timmies, and then works out how far away from me it is, I can definitely confirm that we like our Tim Hortons
Looking at our first encounter with Mr Collins versus his last, you can really see how he (and Lizzie) have grown and gotten better at interacting together (also my mom was VERY disappointed to learn that this is the last Collins ep, she really loves Max and his version 😂)
We all love Max!

I still to this day recommend the LBD to people. Most of them did not know P&P.
This is the only Collins that doesn't feel slimy or stilted to me. I think he's "adorbs". :)
