I have lived in North East. I have worked with Meiteis, they are very nice and humble people. They are obedient and hardworking. They are not violent. Having them as a part of my team had always been an advantage. The way they are portraid it a injustice to them. There is some migration also.

I am neither Meetei nor Kuki but from Manipur so I know your version of the story.
Ms Rami Niranjan has dedicated a lot on research on NE India. Her way of treating the matter in a very balanced way supported by deep knowledge is commendable.
One thing I would like to know is how the kuki people having 5-6 lakhs only managed to fight so well co-ordianted in two fronts, for so long. I mean how their finances for arms, ammunition and other materials. Are they such deep pocketed or is there a steady supply chain from somewhere. If so, what are the tesources. It is very beguiling how such a small community they themselves use to call poor tribals managed so well in terms of weapons supply, supplies, IT support is so well coordinated that to for so long.
Rami, you are one of the best for the North-East of Bharat.🙏

Absolutely true Aadi ji, the British are intelligent and they worked out to penetrate the Northeast India by opening hospitals, schools and slowly won the mind of tribal people by sending missionaries for conversion the hill tribes, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram but unfortunately they could not penetrate Arunachal Pradesh but the Indian Christians did it for them.
Correction, not the indian church members but church authorities.
Right... by using money power.. by giving facilities for schooling ... sending training for medical nurse.. and ST status to convert Christian... MEITEIs r still remain MEITEIs till date surrounding all ST status Christian communities

Well articulated. But, the national media in general is in the right in the tight grip of the misinformation media campaigns of the foreign agencies. Still, I congratulate Desai and Adi for bringing out what I have been suspecting based on what I have been seeing from the ground reality which has a lot of loose ends which Desai has interlinked. The problem is the language, the kind of advanced english and subtle sarcasm or jokes, m sure 95% of our urban population will not comprehend, leave the rest. But everyone needs to see and understand the message your videos convey. So subtitles may be or a hindi podcast if possible. Your info needs to reach the masses..

Kuki dream JALENGNGAM ( separate kuki nation that is why kuki has well foundation both internal and national media+ other supports ) u see before 3rd may 2023 ( CM did identification of REFUGEES,WET LANE PROTECTION, RESERVE FOREST AREA... CUTTING POPI PLANT..) CM is MEITEI that is why kuki started burning more than 1000 house in churachanpur on the first days (3rd may 2023) with the help of SoO kuki militant ( SoO was started by Assam Rifles 2005 without Manipur govt with foreig underground KNA/KNF to control Naga NSCN and Manipur underground) next day 4th may MEITEIs retaliate by looting guns for self protection because both police and ASSAM RIFLES didn't give order due to SoO for Assam Rifles and Manipur DGP was KUKI... THERE IS NOTHING FOR Christian..hindu.. minority.. majority... And why didn't control till date?? Because kuki guns r LIGAL for Assam Rifles due to SoO and looted guns for MEITEIs r illigal because it's looted for self protection when Central and State force didn't protect MEITEIs

Nagas were supported by the Catholic church mostly money was freely flowing in for them hence tracing the same was difficult although the Government knew but Mrs. Gandhi suppoŕed them also.
The British thought to keep the NE secluded so that they could influence them. Due to lack of development insurgency started. China also played a part in the insurgency issue. The earst while Congress Government never wanted to solve the issue and kept delaying in solving the issue.

Have always respected Rami ma'am for her point of view on the Manipur conflict, which is different from many Indian mainstream media: portraying the meitei community as the perpetrators & the other community as the victim.
However I'm surprised by her praise of the current ruling party government which rules both the centre & Manipur.
It's fine if you've your own political leanings, but to say the current ruling party has done a lot of good for the Northeast is something I can't agree with.
Even the special status which northeast enjoyed, was removed by this ruling party.
And the way the central government (under this party) is handling the manipur situation like a step father & giving geopolitics more importance than its own citizens is absolute proof that the current ruling party is not a good fit for Northeast in general & Manipur in particular.
(Previously also in 2001, Manipur legislative assembly was burnt down by angry mobs & 18 citizens lost their lives because of the action of the then ruling party in centre)

Indians talking about the crisis like "experts" after reading from all the sources available on the internet. Their opinions are highly distorted or tilted in one direction or the other based on the source they read. In the eyes of the Meiteis the Kukis are the bad guys snd in the eyes of the Kukis the Meiteis are the bad guys. Take a break from all these people and listen to the neutral people who are viewing the crisis and who are enduring the harrassment from both the Meiteis and Kukis. Come and interview the common people from Nagas and Gorkhas who are witnessing every action from both the communities.
To understand more clearly please also study past 3-4years back on Manipur Biren Govt. Meiteis Nagas NSCN-IM social-political developments.

The initial conflict was not based on religion but later on the valley people started attacking/burning churches in Imphal belonging to Kuki, alongwith churches belonging to Naga and also their own Meetei people. Attacking all churches got attention from various media in India and abroad. Then the narrative of poppy drugs, demand ST status, illegal migration, etc became louder from all fronts. It will be good if you could discuss the origin of the conflict and the sequence of events that followed.

I was in Manipur for three continuous years all throughout Manipur and even visited the border areas. They are really good people.

Cultural and economic and power questions as historical traits to find reality.Dont depend on what's been vomited out by them from both parties. Kuki initiative with terrorism from May 3rd2023 with terrorist actions with no non violent approach to authorities is another wonderful trait to be defended by Meiteis five days later
